  1. I 100% agree. If it was a vet CB in his first year here I'd give him the benefit of the doubt; we do have the toughest conditioning test in the league. However, Webby has done it many times now ... he knows what to expect and didn't pass it. From that aspect, it has to be a bit concerning.
  2. Trestman seems like a very even keeled thoughtful kind of guy, and that personality definitely meshes w/ Flacco. As they continue to bond and get on the same page offensively, we could see a real nice QB/OC duo here. We saw his offense work very well in Chicago ... until Cutler decided he was done with it.
  3. Flacco should thrive in Trestman's offense and I'am really excited to see that. If Trestman gets this offense firing on all cylinders, Flaccos best statistical seasons will be ahead of him. Especially if we can keep the same OC for more than a year ...
  4. We hardly have ran screen plays in the past, but they can be so effective. With the athletic O-Line we have and big strong TE's in Gillmore/Maxx screens could be big for us. Especially w/ a speedy rookie like BP who will need easy ways to get the ball in his hands to build more confidence.
  5. It would be an insane year, and its definitely possible. One main reason I believe so is b/c of Trestmans offense. Of course BP will be going over the top, but we'll see a lot more screens, hitches and short passes thrown his way then we have in the past. Those will give him great chances to get the ball in his hands quick and hit the jets.
  6. JJ Watt would be ridiculous on this team, plus there was also a CB in Jimmy's draft ... *cough* Richard Sherman who would've been alright too. But hey, at least we didnt take Blaine Gabbert 1 spot ahead of JJ.
  7. Honestly, he may have a better year as crazy as it may seem. If you've followed him over the offseason he's been putting in serious work. Now you account for the Clowney factor .. JJ may not be the only beast pass rusher on that team.
  8. Why do you say that? Suggs stats dwarf Richards, and if your just looking at the player in general you'd take Suggs all day long. Seymour = 57.5 sacks, 4 FF and 496 comb tackles Suggs = 106.5 sacks, 27 FF and 729 comb tackles
  9. Ravens fans have a different bond to their team compared to most teams. Its hard to really say what it is, but it's there. I think a lot of it stems from having Ozzie as day 1 GM. We're one of the most consistent teams over the last 20 years now, and Ozzie's decisions are rarely questioned.
  10. Foxworth would definitely be one of the most disappointing Ravens ever. We're a team that rarely spends on FA's and we gave him a 4yr/28m contract. He was extremely frustrating to watch and record 4 ints in 18 games for that contract.
  11. I agree (although I'm predicting Webb hits Pro Bowl form this year), but don't count out Tray Walker. We need Webb to stay healthy, and I like Melvin behind him ... But keeping Walker under the radar and developing him quietly is definitely a weapon for us.
  12. Didn't grow up in that era ... However I've seen basically every NFL Films that those Raiders w/ Stabler are in and I love every second of it. That was great football, and he is an all-timer ... Far too young at 69.
  13. Lee Evans basically cost us a Superbowl (would've smoked the Giants that year, imo). That gives him the distinct award of All-Time worst Ravens players.
  14. Flacco has the most natural arm talent in the league, and by far the strongest arm. I've never seen a QB who can throw the ball as far as he can so effortlessly. On the run, off his back foot or with a defender draped all over him -- best arm in the league. I've seen both players live, in person and up close. Stafford has a heck of an arm on him, I was at the game in Detroit when Megatron broke Jerry's record. That kid can zip the ball with the best of them, but he's a significant notch below Joe.
  15. That's the beauty of the situation, if you slide protection to focus on Doom more, Sizzle will burn you. If Doom gets the record it means our defense as a whole is balling out, and we'll be dominating a lot of teams, so his statement isn't too far off.
  16. Camp needs to prove he can stay healthy to keep a spot on this team, imo. I like what he can do on the field and on ST's, but there is a lot of competition at WR ... Injuries have been a problem for this kid for awhile now.
  17. Solid article. Our D-Line will be dominant this season with the group we have right now. Jernigan and Williams should be starters, and really anchor the line. I'm excited about those guys moving forward. However, with quality of depth we have, it won't be all on their shoulders. The key will be having a rotation that keeps guys fresh, and also throws different looks out there. Urban, Tyson, KLM, Guy, Carl Davis, Canty .. Those guys can all provide some different abilities. Upshaw even got some reps at DE last year, which gives the line a totally different dynamic. If we're creative with our personnel, and our young guys continue to progress, this D-Line will be a nightmare for every team we play.
  18. Suggs is definitely looking around that locker room these days and realizing how long he's been in the league for. He may be feeling his football mortality for the first time in his career, especially now that he's the last of the old guard. Im not ready to see him leave or retire, he's got some solid years left if he wants it. I hope he can find some energy in being that last legendary Ravens defender, and mentor guys like Mosley to carry it forward.
  19. I love Upshaw, he's one of my favourites and I believe Ozzie feels the same way. He's a guy that brings his lunch pale and hard hat and just puts in work. Sure, he'll never be that 10+ sack guy. But he's extremely durable, gives a consistent effort and does the grunt work on this defense, there is value in that.
  20. We weren't too far away from going to another AFC Championship game with Pees, yet again. I'm not the biggest fan of his, but I think he does a fine job. We got torched by a high school play on the Edelman/Amendola pass ... Heck, even a UDFA CB should be able to defend that.
  21. Joe Flacco, hands down. I'd come to work at the Castle, throw the ball around for a bit and drink some Gatorade. After, I'd go for some cold beers, fresh pizza and leave a fat tip. He's so laid back, I like his style.
  22. The numbers speak volumes about Jernigan's play/potential. Even more so was the vote of confidence we gave him (and others obviously) when Ngata became expendable. You're comparing production, not necessarily player vs. player, and it is an interesting look. Obviously JJ Watt is in a class of his own, and will be up there w/ the all-time greats.
  23. What I would like to see from the Secondary can be summed up in 1 word ... HEALTH. I think the rest will take care of itself if we can keep Jimmy/Webby on the field.
  24. Yes we are a top tier team, and we have been for quite some time. a ) We can beat any team in this league at home or on the road. b ) We're always a threat to win the division and get home field advantage. c ) Ask the fans of any team, we're the last team they want to see in the playoffs.
  25. Hah, well lets hope he sets a new standard for BP's as Ravens. Yeah, having these young offensive guys like BP along w/ Maxx and Boyle is very exciting. Flacco is at the point in his career to really help these guys develop, and Smitty can be a great mentor to these guys.
