  1. Thats exactly what it is. Look at guys like Steve Smith, Anquan Boldin who have gone through Harbaughs camps at their age and you don't hear anything about these injuries. It takes time to understand what you need to do off the field to stay fresh.
  2. It has to be a balancing act with his running. He's always been pretty smart with his running (except the snow game vs. the Vikings) and its a big reason why he never misses playing time. As long as he doesn't get too reckless with it, Its fine b/c his speed has always been underrated. Now if he does establish himself as a threat outside the pocket, it could open up those down the field passes. If DB's consider him a threat they may move up, and we all know he can throw on the run as good as any QB.
  3. So here is a pretty good timeline of the situation (I know it's Deadspin, but its actually pretty decent) 'http://deadspin.com/eagles-accuse-terrell-suggs-of-targeting-sam-bradfords-1726080414?utm_campaign=socialflow_deadspin_twitter&utm_source=deadspin_twitter&utm_medium=socialflow' Dean Blandino came out and said the hit was legal and shouldn't have even been flagged. Good enough for me, but fans and media will still crucify Sizzle. Like I said in an earlier post, it's a double standard on QB's. At the end of the day who cares though, we know Sizzle will shrug it off and keep moving forward.
  4. I rewatched the Philly game this morning on NFLN and I was even more impressed with Waller. He showed me a few traits to make me believe he's more than just a 'project'. - Battled through contact and blocked well - His hand placement and arm extension was more refined than I thought it would be - Showed some pretty soft hands It's early, and he's got a long way to go. But so far I'm very impressed with the kid and his upside.
  5. In the future Renner will be a better option. Going forward this year, we need Schaub as the backup QB b/c even though he's looked terrible, he still has a ton of vet experience. That is more valuable than an undrafted rookie QB who's shown promise against 3rd stringers.
  6. You're 100% correct. But I also think its a double standard between 'conventional' QB's and 'running' QB's. We've all seen Vick and RG3 run the read option and get crushed without the ball, no one bats an eyelash. We assume, oh well they could have held the ball and torched us for yards. Now you get a guy like Bradford run the exact same play, but because he's not the same threat if he pulls the ball down and runs it, everyone puts up a big stink.
  7. Is it too late to get Evan Mathis in here? If we have to lose Wagner for any amount of time its going to be rough. But sliding Yanda out to RT and moving Mathis in at RG would work out ok.
  8. I know preseason games aren't really 'game planned' but have we ran the same run play to the right so many times? It's a little frustrating ...
  9. I'll second that. No need to have him out there for an extended period of time without fielding a quality OL. Same w/ Smith Sr, get him a series and call it a night.
  10. Any draft pick given up for a CB would be a waste, imo. So Webb hasn't looked good thus far, we know that. But we also know he will be on the roster, and should be a starter game 1. Our depth is really good this year at CB, I'm actually very happy with it. Arrington's versatility and experience is great to have. Jackson, Melvin still have some potential and experience in our defense. Tray Walker has a ton of potential to me, and will only get better as the season progresses. We'll wait for camp cuts to see if any CB talent hits the streets, but I'd be very surprised if we gave up any future assets for a CB this year.
  11. I'd hate to beat a dead horse ... however, all Giants fans were saying the exact same thing about OBJ a this same time last year. Also, by all accounts, that was a much more serious injury.
  12. When you take a look at Smith's stats, and even project what he might do this year the HOF talk gets pretty interesting. 915 receptions - 13,262 yards - 73 TD's is where he currently stands. He could realistically get to 1000 receptions - 14,000+ yards and 80 TD's with a good season; that would put him in the top 10 in a few categories. So, it definitely will be an interesting season for Smith that could be full of milestones.
  13. JT definitely needs to be careful throwing himself into scrums. Suisham's knee injury was flukey, but I do worry about Kickers getting concussions when they throw themselves in the mix.
  14. The 'hype' around him is definitely interesting, and most of it comes from his size. At 6'6 245lb people are naturally enamoured w/ his size, and it would be nice to have a target like that for Flacco. If he could develop into a serviceable red-zone target and depth WR I'd be happy.
  15. Also its highly cautionary seeing as it's the beginning of the season. A bone bruise is relatively minor, but if you keep working on it, it will linger all year long.
  16. The team physicians also have to make sure there was no cut/abrasion to the eye obviously. Not to mention bacteria that could infect the eye. Think about how disgusting a players glove can get during a practice day, yeah not great lol.
  17. No matter what is going on, any team that brings him in will have the nations media booking flights into town. I just think that alone will prevent anyone from even bringing him in for a workout.
  18. I'd be surprised if any team brings him in. The chances get smaller as the days go by, teams won't want the media attention getting this close to the start of the season.
  19. I agree. Camp is best in the slot, and short area quickness/route running has to be his trademark. Trestman has shown he doesn't mind putting bigger guys in the slot for that purpose though. Camp will need to prove he's the man for the job, but most importantly, can he stay healthy and be depended upon.
  20. Interesting point ... Camp is battling for a spot on this team in a big way. If he's getting bullied around by bigger corners and not getting separation, Trestman will not give him a favourable grade compared to the bigger WR's.
  21. Also sounds like Jimmy probably just dominated Camp which is a good thing ...
  22. I won't hold that one against them at all, especially coming off a SB win. After Sheldon Richardson at #13 it was all downhill (even he's found himself in trouble). Probably one of the worst drafts ever in terms of top end talent, but the RB's in Bell, Lacy and Bernard weren't too bad. Side note: Brandon Williams could save that draft class and Art Brown still has some potential.
  23. He's done here, and its a very disappointing career. I've remained optimistic about him until this injury. We rarely miss on 1st rounders, and coming off the SB win that year I can give Ozzie a pass on this one. That draft was very weak in general when you look back at it. Lacy and Bell went shortly after Elam, but we just didnt have the need for RB at the time. At least we got Wagner in the 5th ... that makes up for it imo.
  24. Exactly, I'm not comparing the players, just the situation. Its not worth grinding through a minor injury early in camp when you have 6 months of football ahead of you .. the season is a marathon, not a sprint.
  25. Giants fans were complaining all Training Camp about Odell not being out there, they figured it out though ... Breshad will be fine once he learns how to practice like a pro.
