  1. I like Ramsey's size, speed and physicality for sure. What I don't like is that I don't know if he is a Safety or a Corner and if he's a true fit at either position. I also tend to agree w/ a previous poster that there is not a huge drop off at FS after Ramsey (if he is drafted as FS). Additionally, I'd like to bring in a veteran FS free agent and take VH3 with our pick.
  2. Matt Schaub vs. Josh McCown on MNF lol ... thats definitely not what they had in mind when they made the schedule.
  3. He showed intensity and passion on Sunday for sure, I agree. CJ Mosley is the key to this defense turning it around the next few years, he's the lynchpin.
  4. I think so too. Hopefully he can get a few games in to close out the season and make a case to be in training camp next season ... Lord knows we could use a big bodied WR like that.
  5. 6'5 230lbs and 4 catches for 109 yards and a TD in last years SB ... good move, can't hurt at this point.
  6. It's worth the thought, and I would like to see a QB taken in the 4-5 round range maybe to develop for a few years. Thing is Flacco has been playing at a high level this year imo, with a limited supporting cast. Put a rookie QB in that same situation and it will kill his development.
  7. They will be good positions in to get a quality player, positions in the draft this team hasn't been in in 5+ years.
  8. Dark era no ... season? Yes. We're getting a lot of players back next year, as well as the natural progression of young quality guys like Mosley, our TE's and some of the D-Line. This draft is what will determine the next 'era'. We'll be in the top 5, but also keep in mind our 2/3/4 picks will all be very good as well ... that is where we will see what the future looks like.
  9. Yeah, I just read that as well, hilarious. Sadly, Schaub is not that much better ...
  10. I just can't believe Flacco stayed in the game like that in what must have been unbearable pain to get the W ... Nobody can ever question that mans toughness. That tells me he will attack this rehab to come back stronger than ever.
  11. Yes AP did it in December and came back week 1. Its funny I was watching Gale Sayer on Football Life talk about his knee tear, and how the doctors were in the stone ages compared to now. Point is, knee repairs are routine now and the rehab process is tremendous. A guy like Flacco should be able to recover very well.
  12. It's all that matters at this point, his long term health. Flacco still has a lot of years left in him, lets get that knee right. If those guys can come back and be productive we know Flacco will, guy is a true warrior.
  13. I just hope this doesn't affect the rest of his career, I'm not concerned about this season. Get well Joe!
  14. I would agree, and people might not realize VH3 is pushing 200 lbs. Size, speed and skill similar to the Patrick Peterson's and Joe Haden's coming out of college. He also just seems like one of those guys that finds his way around the football all the time. Hes a plug and play starting CB in this league and with the WR's especially in our division we desperately need a guy like this to pair with Jimmy. You pair them up and you give our DC a ton of options b/c he knows he can lock down some WR's. While I love Bosa I just don't think he would make more of an impact on this team at this point than VH3 would. We can't cover anybody right now and have zero consistency in the secondary. I also feel there are a lot of pass rushers in rounds 2 and on, and we're the best at finding those guys late.
  15. VH3 would be the most impactful guy we could draft, imo. He is a straight up dynamic playmaker and has the ability to be a true shutdown CB in this league. I say the most 'impactful' b/c that is our weakness right now, but would instantly become our strength paired w/ Jimmy.
  16. That's a very good assessment of the situation, imo. Harbs has given this franchise 8 years of service as a HC, which is an eternity in this business. Most people fail to realize the ridiculous hours these coaches put in to this, and even though they're well paid it still drains you. This isn't just on Harbs though, its on Ozzie and his entire staff. The coaching hasn't been stellar, but the talent isn't in place to work with either. Not to mention the ridiculous on field stuff that has plagued this team. If your Bisciotti of course Harbs has a longer leash than most coaches, he did coach a SB winning team as well as many other playoff wins. But in the end, what other available HC could do better? I can't think of a single one.
  17. I agree that he's not on the hot seat this season, but I disagree with these 3 points. Harbaugh is a coach, not a doctor and he relies on team doctors to provide him w/ information; Might it be fair to criticize our medical staff? - A PCL strain can heal pretty quick and I don't think he thought he'd end up on IR, see Eric Decker for comparison. - SSS was cleared by medical staff to play, so Harbs listened to the Doctors and let him on the field. - Again ... Flacco would have been examined by the Doctors and cleared to play.
  18. The main thing I fear at this point is a misdiagnosis. They're saying its a partial tear that doesn't require surgery, but what happens if it doesn't heal on its own and he needs surgery come spring ...
  19. This team is so good at finding pass rushers in the later rounds, that I feel its almost unnecessary to get one in the top 5. Definitely on board for getting one of the top CB's. However if we did bring in Bosa it would be exciting to see him be mentored by the likes of Doom/Suggs.
  20. Im a fan of the move. What do we have to lose? Webb is a Ball Hawk and a smart player, I'd love to see what he could do at FS for the rest of the year. We know he can line up the secondary and be a true leader back there, something that we've been sorely missing since the departure of Ed. Just for comparison Webb is 5'10 180, Earl Thomas is 5'10 200 ... If Webb looks good back there maybe he can commit to Safety and put on some weight in the offseason, push closer to 190-195. Who knows, maybe some added weight could help his durability.
  21. I can't say it enough, we crush this draft with the high picks we're going to get; We will be a SB contender next season. Its easy to overreact and we have so many holes to fill, but this offseason will be big in plugging up those holes.
  22. I'll answer the question of 'What are the coaches missing'. For over a decade the defense had Ray and Ed, a pair of coaches on the field. Ray called the play, lined up his D-Line and LB's while Ed got the Secondary in check. Two of the smartest defenders ever to play, so when the coaches called in the play they were comfortable w/ any audibles or checks those guys made. They ran this defense and thats why whenever someone else went down w/ an injury, that backup came in and played well. Rookies and young guy had confidence b/c they had the foundation of those 2 running the defense and had an assignment. Now, we simply don't have luxury. The coaches will call their plays, but we don't have the ability on field to dissect and adjust ... we're just playing to the scheme.
  23. Absolutely no excuses, the NFL is as cutthroat as it gets. The front office realizes that, this team was not built to withstand depth concerns and its been coming for a few years now. I believe this season will motivate Ozzie & Co. and with a Top 10 pick, and higher picks in the other rounds we're set up to crush the draft; Especially now that our needs are very obvious.
  24. You make your own luck in this league, the NFL is unforgiving. We've been hurt by injuries, but every team goes through that. We just didn't have the depth on the roster to deal with certain losses. However its easy to say we're unlucky when you lose these games by such small margins ...
  25. I agree, its tough and strange territory as Ravens fans. Whats best now is the highest possible draft pick, if we crush the upcoming draft we're a contender again next year.
