  1. Trent Richardson released by the Colts. I'd love to bring him in, he will come cheap. I feel there is still something there and a fit in the right offense could turn him around.
  2. Yes, please bring back Cary Williams! Adding him to the secondary relieves a lot of pressure in the sense of adding security. He's reliable, durable and knows the city/team/system.
  3. It definitely would, and I believe it would be a wise move. We can fill Ngata's role with the depth we already have in Williams/Jernigan. I just don't want to wait for Elam or Brooks to work out for us, if they ever do. This is a great shot at a young star FS.
  4. McCourty would really bring this Secondary together and pair nicely w/ Hill. In comparison, Earl Thomas got 4y/40m so Devin won't be getting more. If we could get the cap space it would be interesting ...
  5. As well as having other guys like DT, Welker and Sanders/Decker who attracted their fair share of attention. Some team is going to buy high on him, won't be us, and there are legitimate ?'s whether he can be the 'go-to' guy.
  6. Ok, that makes sense now. However, when Gase and Marshall were in Denver together Marshall hadn't dealt w/ his mental health issues yet. He seems on the surface to be a much improved person ... I agree that I don't think he will be cut and he will be there for another season. Its wishful thinking that he could become a Raven this offseason.
  7. I'm trying to figure out where the Brandon Marshall talk is coming from. Didn't he just sign a 3 year 30m deal .. so it has 2 years left on it? Have the Bears hinted at cutting him and eating that cap space?
  8. Did they have an advantage with better grip on the ball? Yes they did, as 11 of the 12 balls were under-inflated. Did that factor determine the game? No it didn't, imo. just like it wouldn't have during our game. Also, the intent to knowingly cheat has not been proven yet and I will wait till that determination has been proven. Now your saying perhaps in that 2011 title game that they could of done the same, which is a fair question. But now we are accusing the Officials of the NFL of not diligently doing their job pre-game (which is fair), but also needs to be proven; As now we would be accusing them over a larger time span than just a single game. In my previous comment I did state that an under-inflated ball is an advantage in cold weather, this is true. I still don't believe it is advantage enough to determine the outcome of a game. It is cheating, and it does deserve punishment.
  9. This situation has gotten much larger than I expected ... I mean its even in the CNN news cycle every 30 mins. I have a unique opinion on this situation, imo. I've grown up in Canada playing football from the time I was 10 till now at 24. I've played in the heat of Summer, and still play (flag football, nonetheless), in the dead of Winter. Deflated balls absolutely have an advantage in cold weather. When we warm up before a game in cold weather, there is a variety of 'practice' balls. I've thrown and caught balls that were under inflated, and they were easier to catch, by far, its not even debatable. In addition, I have smaller hands, and it's much easier for me to throw an under inflated ball, as opposed to a regulation type football; My hands can sink in to the ball rather than just clutching on to a grip. Now this advantage is not enough to be the deciding factor in a game, imo. Especially when the Patriots hammered the Colts like they did. So if they are proven, without a doubt, to have been in contravention of the league rules; They absolutely deserve a punishment. Draft pick(s), money ... However, It doesn't 'tarnish' that win over the Colts for me, or any wins past/future.
  10. The league/fans definitely expect too much from a HC in those situations. Its like Jimmy Johnson said, being a HC you have to connect with everybody in that building everyday, maintain relationships and push buttons when needed. You can't focus solely on one thing. That is what Harbaugh is great at. So now Trestman gets to focus only on his offense. Another thing that may not be mentioned is his personality. Trestman seems like a calm, mild mannered guy. I think that pace will mesh really nicely with Flacco and they'll have a good working relationship.
  11. I'm actually pretty excited about this. Trestman was not HC material (could blame it on the cancer that is Jay Cutler), but now he gets to focus solely his offense. I think its a shot at having an innovative OC and a guy who may stick around for more than a season.
  12. True enough, and they managed to salvage the season somewhat. But in that event, I'd rather get a top 5 pick because of a less than adequate QB. Start next season fresh with the Franchise QB and your new draft class.
  13. I agree. When you have a durable guy like Flacco you can take that risk. Draft a guy in the 6th/7th round with a cheap contract and let him develop; I think its a much better option than using cap space on an expensive backup.
  14. If we lost Flacco for the year (knock on wood) there would be no way a backup could even take us to the playoffs. So in that situation, I'd prefer a Curtis Painter situation and tank it for a top 5 pick.
  15. I'm with ya there. I saw a number of Alouettes games in person while Trestman was there. His passing game was certainly aided by a larger field, also the fact he had the CFL equivalent of Manning in Calvillo.
  16. Elam can't cover, but I thought that was something he could learn like most young Safeties. Against NE he proved he absolutely cannot tackle, which is something I thought he could at least do well. I don't want to call him a bust, but he needs a good offseason/training camp to prove otherwise.
  17. He's got a great offensive mind and would be an asset to us in some capacity. I don't put much blame on him for the Bears struggles, Cutler is a cancer to work with. I have a feeling we'll have Kubiak for next year, but it wouldn't be a terrible thing to have a potential in house OC hanging around in the event he does leave one day.
  18. 3 felony weapons charges, 2 DUI charges and one violation of NFL substance abuse policy, plus the stupid airport bomb threat deal. 9 games is well deserved, in addition to the close to 2.3m he loses in salary. Aldon Smith needs to get his act together. Surprisingly, a lot of people on Twitter want to compare this to Ray's situation, the ignorance is unreal.
  19. Loving the Ravens in Madden. In the defensive playbook we have a new formation which is the Wide Nickel, in the past we've only had base nickel and 3-3-5. Wide Nickel is intense. - Leave Daryl Smith at ILB - 4 man front of Mosley/Sizzle on the outside Doom/Ngata/Upshaw rotation on the inside - It's like stealing for Mosley, 8 games in he's got 9 sacks already. Great for his progression
  20. Couldn't agree more with the entire post. The comparisons between the Rice and Gordon suspensions on Twitter is pretty shocking, and ignorant. The majority of people can't believe that someone could get suspended for a year for marijuana, yet 2 games for domestic abuse. Unfortunately, people don't bother to scratch the surface before injecting their misinformed opinions. Rice was suspended 2 games. His incident was 'alleged' although the court of public opinion has already drawn and quartered him (despite a crystal clean record previous to the event). The charges were thrown out the window and justice ran its course after its due process, is that not good enough? Conversely, Josh Gordon has broken the NFL's Substance Abuse Policy multiple times. His issue can't be compared to Rice's because it is a league mandate that he has not complied with, therefore it is cut and dry. Regardless of anyones opinion on marijuana, it is on the NFL's banned substances list. Players know this, they know they may be tested and suspended, yet still a guy like Gordon does it. It just baffles me that people are so ignorant to these facts. Domestic abuse is terrible, but its up to the commish's discretion when he takes all facts in to account; considering the law ran its course and this is a sports league, not a moral high ground. Violating the leagues substance abuse program is a CBA violation, which is set in stone.
  21. Ahh, the Shotty butt fumble connection haha. He must be lobbying to get Sanchez in there. Man, I just hate injuries. Especially when you start losing top guys. Fingers crossed we stay relatively healthy.
  22. Unwavering support for Bradford and now they have absolutely nothing at QB, in a beast division. Heck, Tebow might be worth a shot lol, may as well go for the #1 pick again. Sell some jerseys in the interim. (Edit) .. Apparently the Rams have interest in Sanchez, lol.
  23. They thought he was lol ... passed on RG3, Bortles and Manziel lol, ouch.
  24. LOL! Good call. The further the US gets along in the legalization of Marijuana state by state, the closer the NFL will get to considering this as a non banned substance; the two go hand in hand. We're getting to the point where players like Josh Gordon (even go back to my man Ricky Williams) are losing seasons to a substance that quite obviously doesn't enhance performance. That doesn't help the NFL.
  25. He's 6'3 220 pounds with great speed coming off a 1600 yard 9 TD season lol. Had character concerns in college that have obviously not been addressed though. He's definitely getting suspended for the year, and after that he'll be on thin ice. If it all came together though, I'd take him here in a second lol.
