  1. If the article from Rotoworld is correct and this is about cutting Boldin to keep Ellerbe...if you look at overall production and durability, and not from just this season, this seems like bad business decision to me. Once people realize that the MLB position isn't as important as it was when Lewis was here (strengthen the front seven), it just doesn't justify overpaying Ellerbe when there are viable, cheaper options in the draft. The last thing you would want to do is weaken the offense at this point at the expense of the defense, and I think Boldin's absence weakens the offense not only from losing a "clutch" player, but from a leadership and "coaching up" perspective. Glad I am not in Ozzie's shoes.

I see your point, but Boldin has two or three years left in him. Ellerbe has the majority of his career ahead of him, and I don't even think he's reached his prime.

While I would agree that we shouldn't overpay Ellerbe to keep him around, I think we need to pay him enough to bring him back. We have never been a team that drafts for need, so I doubt Ozzie would want to enter the draft with a gaping hole at MLB.

  2. devil was horribly predictable. Stay away from anything from M Night Shamalamadingdong in it, he's horrible.

6th sense was his only good flick (although I do enjoy Signs sometimes).

Heck, The Village was ripped from an old short story

I actually enjoyed The Village. I guessed the twist, but still liked it.

  3. When the little boy was falling down the stairs... right before he did the THING to the guy that was hunting the main character. It seemed as though the mother got up and started running for the little boy but instead she was trying to get the main character out of the way of the "TK-blast zone".

I actually was waiting for the main character, the younger one, to stop a bullet with it or something... very disappointing aspect of the whole movie. Floating quarters and Zippo lighters... what a wasted opportunity.

Ohh right, yeah that definitely fooled me too.

And I agree, after I saw that last scene, all I could think about was the creative ways that TK couldve been used through the rest of the movie. But as you said, they reduced it to quarters and lighters. Definitely disappointing.

  4. Agreed. It was almost as if they threw the TK thing into the mix at the last moment before they started production. Granted, the particular scene you are referencing was pretty freaking awesome.

(Did you think the mother was running to catch her son, too? I did... That was a curveball!)

Definitely. That scene was incredible, which made me wish that they had used the whole thing throughout the rest of the movie. I get that it was supposed to be a surprise, but still..they could've done SOMEthing with it.

And which part are you talking about? The whole ending threw me for a loop, pun intended :)

  5. "Looper" ... although predictable, still a pretty decent flick.

That movie could have used the whole TK thing a heck of a lot more, but they made one cool scene out of it...which lasted like 20 mins. Definitely could've done more with that.

Other than that, it was a pretty good movie. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is quickly becoming the man.

  6. The Avengers was fantastic. It's the second best (although I'm assuming it will soon be the third best in July) super hero movie ever made, and it's in my top 10 of all time. It was incredible at how much Joss Whedon was able to deliver with that many stars and that many characters in only 2 hours and 12 minutes. Everyone should see this movie without question. Ruffalo was a better Hulk than Norton was, although it probably helped that Hulk fits better in the ensemble as the character is not built for carrying his own movie, or at least so far. And of course Downey was awesome as usual, Iron Man is just one of those roles he was born to play.

I wonder who they will add for The Avengers 2. I hope it's not Spiderman because I'm not pleased about the remake and Garfield would be swept away by Downey and everyone else. If there weren't some apparent copyright issues, I would bet on Hugh Jackman because he's a great Wolverine (weaknesses of the origin movie notwithstanding) and I think he would flow the best with the excellent cast they already have assembled. I just hope they let Joss Whedon do the sequel as well, he really delivered this time. Maybe the man will finally get some mainstream respect in Hollywood, but alas nothing will bring back the epicness of Firefly/Serenity.

I just saw it yesterday, and you are so right, it was a phenomenal movie. Great balance of action, humor, brilliant special effects, and its just an overall really well done movie. It is a pretty close second to the Dark Knight.

  10. Cant forget batman dark knight has tobe in top five

For sure. That was an exceptional movie. Heath Ledger was flat out spectacular, and its quite fun to compare the strapping young man he played in The Patriot to the darkly humorous character he played as the Joker.

  11. Anyone see Episode I in 3-D yet? If so, is it worth seeing?

Being a Star Wars nerd, yes I saw it. And its pretty cool in 3D, particularly the pod racer scene. But it doesnt have all of the 3D wow moments, like things coming out of the screen at you, that a lot of current movies have added in for the cool 3D effect, which makes sense since its older. But overall it was good.
