Also, finally got around to seeing Gravity. I agree with all the other assessments on the movie previously posted in this thread. The visuals and sound were stunning. Loved that aspect of the movie, especially since I'm a sucker for a pretty movie. That said, the plot held the movie down. While I appreciated the ironic serenity that certain parts of the movie conveyed, those same parts of the movie tended to drag on. It just felt very slow paced, although perhaps rightfully so. Neither Clooney nor Bullock were particularly special in the movie. In fact if anything, Bullock's character was pretty annoying. But it was worth seeing for the visuals and sound alone. On a side note, me and the friends I watched it with were waiting for the pen constantly lurking in the background when Bullock was in the Russian space module to play a significant role... which it didn't. Talk about a letdown.
