I don't blame the refs on the Chris Johnson run. As a player you should know to play to the whistle. Why weren't any Ravens tackling CJ after he was brought down? Why should Brandon Will. be the only one to tackle him? Overall, I feel that the D has lost its swagger. We are playing like wussies.
Not to couch-coach, but don't we practice these situations? With the game on the line and an all-out blitz coming, shouldn't the coaches design a better play call than hailmary? It's not like it's 4th and goal. On top of it there was a penalty moving us back.
Can't imagine why Marlon Brown is still playing on this team. Smith, Givens, Aiken, Ross and the TE's should be enough. It looks like Boyle was a steal in this draft. He could be our #1 TE.
I call it bad karma for Suggs. It happens when you meaninglessly go after a guy's knees in a preseason game esp. after he is coming off an injury. Legal or not, bad things are bound to happen when you do that.
Whoever evaluates the talent in training camp should be let go. Horrible horrible evaluation of our players. Perhaps going against one of the worst defensive backfield makes them look like playmakers.
Looking at who we drafted since 2011, I'd have to say Ozzie has lost a step in drafting. Whether this is on the scouts or the FO, I am not sure. I think our philosophy of drafting the best player without giving in to need is right but the choices are appalling.
Every time Harbaugh throws a challenge flag, I know we'll lose a timeout. I've lost all confidence in our replay team. I can understand that in the first half but in the second half when you know the game will come down to the last second, you need those timeouts.
If I was Ozzie, I would trade Steve Smith to the Giants or Packers who are in need of receivers.
That way he'll have a legitimate shot at the super bowl and we would get something in return.
Then Ozzie can sign someone off the street to play our #1 WR.
Why aren't we looking at Welker?
I know he's one concussion away from retirement but it doesn't hurt to bring him cheap at this point if he is willing. He will be the best route runner on our squad without a doubt and Joe could use him for the timing routes.
Thrilling win. Ugly but still thrilling. Yesterday reminded me again why I love Ravens football.
Campanaro is a star if he is healthy. I get excited every time he catches/runs the ball. Too bad he consistently gets hurt. He also had a decent return.
I take back what I said about Aiken. Perhaps we should stop sending him deep and use him in the intermediate routes. He delivered big yesterday.
Too bad the same thing cannot be said about Marlon "T-Rex" Brown. Huge guy but bad hands. Sad to see him regress so much. Flacco has a really bad day especially the fumble. Don't they teach it to hold the ball in the outside hand while running. That is really inexcusable. The Miami CB pickup was huge. Perhaps Ozzie can trade for a deep threat now. If Smith/Campanaro are banged up we have no choice at all.
Please no leaning on Aiken and Brown. I've had enough of these articles about these two guys being relied upon.
I'll be more than happy with SSS, Campanaro, Williams, Boyle, Kyle as our receiving targets.
I can point at Pees but the talent level he is working with is awful.
Jimmy Smith is probably the only one who can start for a team and he is having a bad season.
I think we need to reconsider our strategy of bringing back injured players on hefty contracts.
(Webb, Pitta, Smith).
"Play like a Raven"
*lol* the defense is playing like little chicken. Seeing our boys get stomped while tackling A.J. Green en route his 80 yrd touchdown hurt a lot.
Unfortunately, that's not Pees's philosophy (bend don't break). We play soft to not give up big plays and when they get to the red zone we stifle them. Only Jimmy can play press coverage without getting beaten. Melvin - I am not sure since he hasn't been healthy.
The odds of beating Cincy at home are better. I don't think we can go to heinz field and beat the Steelers this year. Their offense looks red hot and with Suggs out, it makes it even lopsided.
We can go 0-4 or 1-3.
Biscotti has the final say. I don't think he's willing to shell out another million dollars just to get a L. If we are going to stink on the road, he might as well save his money.
Agree. The offensive line is a mess. What happened to Wagner? Even if Monroe returns I am not sure he is the answer at LT. We need to fix this and our running game first and then think about WR's. To me Denver was too good to start the year. I'll wait a couple of games more to see how we adjust.
