The only way this team could win a game is by playing against a backup and the worst kicker in the league. Meh. We don't win this game 9 times out of 10.
With the two worst tackles in the league, wide recievers named Kamar Aiken, Marlon Brown, and some guy named Waller, without Crocket Gillmore (oh and BTW without a Dennis Pitta), another TE named Boyle I never heard of........IN PITTSBURGH.......should I go on?
Stop acting like we rolled into Pittsburgh with the 2012 Ravens and just laid down. I'm getting tired of reading posts like this. We're fielding almost a complete practice squad offense outside of Flacco and Forsett, and despite 2 turnovers (one because everyone in the world knows Flacco can only really trust Smith) that offense STILL put the team in winning position when it mattered.
I'm not at all complaining about this win. They did what they had to do. Flacco overcame his struggles and forced these young receivers to step up and make some needed clutch catches; isn't that what great QB's are supposed to do? And unlike the Steelers, the Ravens weren't scared to put Tucker on the field on crappy turf to win the game.
Take the win.
and 20 INTs.
Perhaps you would like to trade him for Colin Kapernick. I mean, he has both our good receivers and he lit up the Card...........
.......oh wait.
Jump Ball Joe comes up SMALL again.
Crap like this is why don't come here that often anymore.
Flacco had the first down and KO screwed up
Bottom line.
It's 4th and 17 Flacco shouldn't be in that position anyway. Don't understand how you guys blame it on him
Because it's all they have. It's sickening and shows how bad a fanbase we can have.
Wow. And this game is over.
Why do our cornerbacks NEVER turn around to look for the ball?
This is our season right here.
I believe Flacco put that on the money. Nice drive!
Come on defense, HOLD HERE!!!!
All Flacco's fault, right?
And just like that the defense implodes in one play.
What a play!!!! Heads up Mosley!!!!
Nice job Trestman. Find a way to screw up being near the goalline.
Thats a helluva throw and catch.
The heck? He wasn't even touched!!
steve smith..
that was all steve smith.
not flacco
Smith took the snap too?
Wow, I never realized how horrible Marc Trestman was.
But Steve Smith! Good grief.
Jimmy Smith woke up!!!
So when do we get to stop giving Ozzie a pass for letting guys like Torrey Smith go. This team has one good receiver on this team, and then an up-and-coming TE. But no one that can stretch the field. And when you have a defense that can't stop anyone, you need an offense that can keep up and we don't have it.
It makes me so angry that as of right now it looks like Belicheck and Brady are going to get away with this. The NFL hasn't even talked to Brady yet? What are they waiting for? Or are we buying that 11 of the 12 balls ONLY THE PATRIOTS USED magically deflated after inspection?
The real truth is Belichick and Brady are the big moneymakers for the NFL. No way they do anything to jeopardize them playing next week in the Super Bowl.
Guys, keep in mind the perception of the Bears and Trestman being pass-happy comes from the fact that their defense also sucked and they spent many quarters having to play catch-up. When you are down 31-17 in the 3rd quarter to the Packers, you abandon the run. When you're down 21-7 in the 3rd quarter to the Dolphins, you abandon the run.
They played from behind a LOT last year. So they had no choice but to pass a lot more than they probably wanted to. So I wouldn't mark that as a tendancy from Trestman just yet.
I wonder if the fact that Trestman is 60 years old and not as likely to be a one-and-done OC? On the flip side does being that old make him less likely to "work" with Flacco and more likely to just command him? I'm not sure that will fly.
I'm not unhappy with this pick though. I'm interested to see what he brings to the table.
The more I read on Adam Gase, the more I'm softening to the thought of him for this very reason. It sounds like his scheme relies a lot on the QB getting a read on the defence and working from there.
I'm still a bit dubious of his record because of his work with Peyton, but I guess I could be convinced to come off the ledge if we hire him.
Read that NYT article a page or two back. Apparently Peyton and Gase emailed and texted all week long about strategy and gameplanning and Manning loved having this guy with him. Just because Manning may have called things at the line doesn't mean he didn't have Gase calling plays in from the side.
Apparently his ability to read defenses and remember tendencies is insane. Being an OC isn't just about calling plays on Sunday, and if Peyton trusts him that much to put his plan together, I'd have to think he is good.

They are the worst tandem in the league, look it up. BTW another 5 sacks for Flacco among the various hits he took. Try again.
