  1. That hit by Butler is great! It looks like KO stops to ask that downed Steeler, "Dude, are you OK? That was some hit!"
  2. I loved Mallet's play -- a couple of those overhead bullets he threw looked like Kareem skyhooks -- but we gotta remember that Joe had a flimsy left O-line through most of this season. Moving KO to the outside seems to be the real change here...finally our QB has time time to do what he wants. If Mallet could do that, the Steelers should be happy Joe wasn't there to do it.
  3. Jimmy makes those PIs because he knows he's just got beat (again) and if he doesn't do something the opposition gets 6 points. At least this way he keeps the ball out of the end zone. Last-ditch moves by a poor player.
  4. I'm not ready to jump on the "new #1 QB" bandwagon yet, but Mallet was throwing bullets yesterday! Glad to hear he was pumping everybody up in the huddle, rather than just maintaining calm like Joe usually does. We needed some fire to melt the Steelers.
  5. With its associations with FanDuel and DraftKings, the NFL needs to get on top of this bad referee issue ASAP. There is so much money hanging on outcomes, it is really starting to look like games are getting fixed. With 11 men on a side it's hard to do that through NFL players, but with a just handful of refs per squad it wouldn't be that tough. We have lost two games absolutely due to bad referee calls (touchdowns taken back that would have provided the game-winning points) and that call on Brown last week was simply ludicrous.
  6. Wola Odeniran? Isn't that a Star Wars character?
  7. It's great to have a win, but it was still a fluke. We should never have had our backs to the wall in the first place. People say there's no quit in this team. What we need to quit is, taking our foot off the gas and giving away leads.
  8. I agree heartily about playing for draft picks. I haven't jumped up and down after any of our losses going "Yay! Up the draft we go!" The object of the game is to win. We'll be high enough in the picks as it is. Miami is beatable, but we've got a tough end to the season after that. We'll be luck-luck-lucky to win any of the last 4.
  9. I don't think that last Browns TD was all Hill's fault. The receiver was the only Brown in the middle of three Ravens defenders with nobody else to cover. Somebody should have responded even after Hill dropped him.
  10. Hmmm...shaky, interception-prone, rusty quarterback vs. the worst run defense in the NFL. Anybody want to bet we'll be airing it out all night long?
  11. I made the same point yesterday on another story. In 2012 we were 9-5 and still fired Cam. Now we're 2-7 and making lots of excuses. Goes to show how far our standards have fallen. We will never get back to the top by tolerating bad play again and again from the same people.
  12. Same thing that was gained then -- new thinking. What is gained by keeping unproductive coaches/players? We're already losing about as fast and bad as we can.
  13. Here's a thought. Back in 2012, at the time we fired Cam Cameron, our record was 9-5. We are now 2-7. At what point do heads start to roll?
  14. Two stories in a row from our coordinators -- Trestman's about the last drive in Arizona, and Pees' about what's wrong with his defenders. These guys are supposed to be fixing these issues, not complaining about them. Sounds to me like they're worried about their jobs. They should be.
  15. Hey, we actually play the Jags in a couple of weeks! Now that we've lost to the Raiders, Browns and 9ers, that might be a real game! I'd actually kinda like to see if these knuckleheads can lose to Jacksonville too. I bet we can! How low we can sink before SOMEBODY STARTS FIRING SOMEBODY!?!?
  16. The city doesn't like to admit it's there. It's called the San Andreas Fault.
  17. I agree this should be a major complaint to the league. Tucker is the one bright spot left on this team. If he breaks an ankle due to faulty turf, somebody needs to be sued. SF, Pittsburgh, fix your crappy fields!
  18. Sorry, but it's time for heads to roll. There's speculation that Pagano may be fired by the Colts. If so, hire him back immediately and show Pees the door. Put a bunch of these sorry-@$$ "veterans" on the bench and give the 2nd-stringers a try -- they can't be much worse than these overpaid door stops we've got now.
  19. I saw somewhere today that we are a 19/19 team since winning the Super Bowl. If we can't beat the Browns, if we can't beat the 9ers, we'd better look forward to becoming a sub-.500 team. (Of course, this year we passed .500 long ago, but even worse for it to become a long-term trend...)
  20. Ugh. Anybody could see these two would light us up. Jeez, I miss them. You know what? I'm happy for for T and Q. But at the same time, if I was them I wouldn't "crow" too loud. The Ravens have sadly proven to be an easy team to beat this season, and the 9ers are far from being a winning team themselves. Right now the Ravens make crappy teams look like playoff contenders. Enjoy it while you can, boys. I hope you don't eat too much "crow" down the road.
  21. "Quarterback Joe Flacco has had a chance to win in the fourth quarter in each of the Ravens%u2019 four losses." Another way to look at it, is that Flacco had already won those games. It was the defense that allowed opponents to take victory away.
  22. Torrey's being polite about Jimmy Smith. Anybody else here think Torrey and Anquan are going to light us up on Sunday?
  23. Fer cryin' out loud, somebody hire Ed Reed as secondary coach, or even DC.
  24. On the bright side, the Super Bowl rematch next week has a whole new excitement...which of these two suddenly crappy ex-contenders will prove to be the biggest loser?
  25. I think he grabbed the defender's uniform or pads at the front of the neck, not the facemask. A kind of "reverse horse collar." No flag for that!
