  1. I only heard Melvin's name called once during the broadcast and it was during a great pass breakup on 3rd down that was flagged for DPI. During the replay, it was a very ticky tack call that appeared he was in great position and shouldn't have been called.

  2. I know that in the age of big receivers height means an awful lot, but despite size, does the size o f the heart tor the chance to make a dream come true or technique mean anything? No dis meant, but as I am older and the game passes coaches by your take on the game really means something to me! Height can't be understated, heart?  Depends on the player or can the Ravens over come this? I ain't right, you ain;t wrong but it's crunch time for our team, Plus you got a strong argument, I just have to believe! No fight, let's talk, we both want the same thing, much respect for making me think, great post, hope others join us!

You can have all the heart in the world, but lack of height or physical traits can greatly limit your playmaking ability.  A 5'-10" CB with a ton of heart is gonna have a problem defending a 6'-5" reciever.  In this case, the CB is limited by his height not his heart.

  3. Here is maybe a positive in all this we could have a secondary with this size starting

    Melvin ( 6 '2)

    Hill ( 6 ' 2)

    MIles ( 6  '2)

    Cason ( 6 '1)

    Webb ( 5 ''10)

If nothing else that could allow us more man to man.

Get that "midget" outta of here.  j/k

  4. While I appreciate his play and effort, I think it's very premature to say he's the answer to our DB woes.

Trust me, as soon as he makes a bad play, the same fans praising him will be calling him a bum and requesting he gets cut.

  5. Personally I don't think the increase in ACL injuries has anything to do with the limited amount of full contact practices. I think the increase of speed, strength and agility training has more to do with it. If you look at some of the training these guys do now, it's insane. This training has allowed a high increase in muscle mass with a combination with speed. You can strengthen the muscle but you can't strengthen the tendons that support the muscle, resulting in the increase of ACL Injuries. JMHO

  6. Ok after reading every player article since the 1st round of OTAs, Harb's has stated that everyone looks good and he likes what he sees from that player. That got me to thinking, did Harbs personally call out any other player last year for their disappointing performance besides Tyrod Taylor (the freaking backup QB)? Maybe I'm a little emo about this b/c Tyrod is a local kid, who shouldn't have even been mentioned in the discussions regarding the disappointment of last season.  Even with Ray Rice's dismal season, I don't ever recall (not saying it didn't happen) Harbs say he was disappointed in Ray's performance.  If he did call out someone, who was it?

  7. He's going to have to do more than just make it through the conditioning test to make the final 53 IMO. Especially since he quit on his workout/tryout/see what you got time.

They're giving him a chance by reinstating him so he can take part in OTAs. The ball is in his court. Either he wants this chance and is willing to work for it - or, he doesn't.

With the conditioning test being the 1st few days of TC, if he passes that I think he has a good shot to make it. He would have successfully gone through the OTAs and in shape to compete which I feel he will do. But like you said...it's all on him.

  8. It took a fair amount of humility to show up knowing he wasn't in football shape and unable to pass the conditioning test, but still take it. All of these guys that say he isn't hungry, he just took a year away to handle his personal issues. That meant more to him than money. He valued straightening his life out with NO income than to continue down a path of self destruction while making a few bucks. Maybe he was HUNGRY for some stability for his FAMILY. These are the same people on here saying don't give him a chance that say give Ray Rice a third chance. I mean if we are using the same logic for personal issues coupled with being in football shape, Ray is on his third chance with Rolando

It kills me for people to say he doesn't deserve. Remember the things you stand by when you are in a situation where all you can do is ask for retribution, but remember, you don't deserve another chance. You know nothing about what this man has embarked on in the past year, don't judge when you don't know. This forum is getting plagued with people that don't see the human element involved in a NFL Player and I think I'm going to take some time to stay away from this site because it truly is disgusting to see a man change his life around for the better and someone here says, nope not good enough. Shame on you all for your negativity.

I had to switch from the mobile version to the full Web version on my phone just so I could give you a +1 on your response. Well said sir! It seems as though some members forget that these guys are human and have personal issues to deal with like we all do. IF McClain was a Raven for the past 3 years and was a monster at his position and had to take a year off to get his life right, everyone in this forum would overlook his workout the other day. IJS.

  9. Something else to consider is that whenever future draft picks are traded you generally add 1 round to it if it were for the current year. Therefore the 5th rounder we gave up in 2015 would only be a 6th rounder this year.

I read somewhere that the trade worked out this way because we didn't have a 5th rounder to give this year. That makes me wonder why we didn't just trade a 6th rounder this year instead. I get why we would want to keep as many picks this year as possible I just don't understand why the Bucs would be content with waiting until next year.

From what I read, they were going to cut him anyway. So instead of cutting him and getting nothing, they at least get a pick out of it.  win/win for both organizations.
