Sorry to hear that Tray Walker might not be ready to contribute immediately.
Marlon Brown seems to be missing from the list of undrafted rookies sticking with the team.
Surprised M. Brown was omitted, b/c he had a great rookie year. Tied Torrey Smith's record of TD receptions for a rookie.
Waller at 6'-6" vs the Steelers 2nd round CB at 5'-8" should be interesting.
Lol there we have it. It's nice to have him signed. I love the rookie scale.
Honestly with the rookie scale, I don't understand why most rookies hire agents. They really don't need an agent until it's time to negotiate their 2nd contract.
Never mind, he signed this afternoon. Must have read this post.
If he lives up to his potential, I'm gonna call him "The Great Wall"
Per my ESPN app, Football Outsiders have the Ravens winning the division with a 9-7 record. I'd much rather be the underdog than the favorite to win. They also have the Ravens playing the Pats in the 1st round of the playoffs, projecting Miami to win the AFC East accounting for a Brady suspension.
Football Outiders came up with these projections by starting with its Defense-adjusted Value Over Average and then accounted for last year's injury numbers, major free-agent moves and a few other indicators.
I was one of a few in this forum who wanted the Ravens to draft Dorial Green Beckham early in the draft. Looks like the scouts found another receiver with the same measurables in Waller. I'm hoping he can be that guy. I like the problem that we're seeing with our receivers, TOO MUCH TALENT.
Wonder why the Ravens can't make a hall inside thier stadium of the all time greats so every great Raven can be remember.
This. I'm gonna do one better. I think a shared hall between Camden and M&T would be a great idea. An opportunity to see; Orioles, Colts and Ravens history.
As much as I love and appreciate what Reed did for the Ravens, I don't think he warrants a statue like Unitas and Lewis. A smaller statue in a different area, I'm fine with. Unitas was to the Colts, what Lewis is to the Ravens. Even though Reed was elite/great, he doesn't mean as much to the organization and/or city as Unitas and Lewis. Find a different way to honor Reed IMO.
Just surprised with no deal on the table, he risked injury by participating in the rookie camp this past weekend.
Surprised many of you have Waller as a lock already. HIs measurables are outstanding, but until we see how he does vs the veterans, its way too early IMO to say he's a lock.
Davis signed I believe, just Perriman left.
Thanks...didn't hear about Davis.
The CBA pretty much set salaries for all new rookies, so any idea why Perriman and Davis haven't signed/agreed to their contracts yet? Did I miss it, b/c as I understand it they're the only 2 drafted rookies who haven't signed.
outside of CJ mosley we have drafted a grand total of
0 pro bowlers or all pros since 2009
you could say we have had solid draft picks but nothing special. Mosely has been the first in half a decade
Well when you typically draft in the low to mid 20s, you're not going to get that special player that turns into a Pro bowler.
Miller lite is the official sponsor of the Ravens, why didn't anyone tell me?
Should be Natty Bo!!
A lot to be excited about but sad to hear about Julian Wilson's injury. What is it with the rookie mini-camp injuries this year? These guys have played years of college ball, probably had over 100 full contact practices during their college careers, regular season games, and most of them have never had a major season ending injury. Already we've had Fowler, Heureman, Wilson, among others get season ending injuries in the span of 2 days in the NFL.
It's not even like rookie mini-camps are full throttle, full contact, type of practices. They are the lowest intensity practices they will probably ever have in the NFL. I don't recall such high profile players going down at mini-camp in recent years. I suppose it's just really bad luck.
The only other things I could think might be a factor are going from not playing for a while because of the lengthy draft process and being asked to jump right back into action instead of being "eased" back into playing full speed. Also just the pressure of it being their first impression in the NFL and wanting to maybe do too much right away to try to impress the coaches.. I think it's probably a little bit of all those things but primarily just bad luck.
If the report on how Wilson broke his leg is true, it was just a freak accident. Went up to defend a pass and landing awkwardly and his leg broke. Nothing you can do to prevent that.
Field position is so important, I think you have to use your best possible for the job. I don't think returners get injured more than anyone else, as long as you keep Trawick away.
Perriman is the most expensive draft investment this year. Why subject him to more hits than necessary.
Harbaugh mentioned trying Perriman there so who knows at this point.
Do not like this idea at all. Why subject your #1 draft pick to unneccessary hits?
Regarding deflategate, one overlooked aspect is, Brady impeded with the investigation by refusing to turn over his cell phone and email as requested. This alone can justify a suspension by Goodell.
A HEALTHY secondary with; Webb, Smith, Hill and Lewis will cause major problems.
Absolutely the best player we have on D .. him and Jimmy Smith... couldnt be happier.... YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS..
Better than Mosely, Suggs, Dumervil and D. Smith?? Come on man!!
Today's LFW should be dedicated ONLY to Reed, don't taint it with the Patriots shenanigans.
Out of all these tall recievers, I'm willing to bet the most productive receiver this season will be the 5'-9" Steve Smith Sr. LOL.
