  1. I guess Crocker is the inline blocking TE that the team wanted.

To me, it looked like a draft for need, in which we got our blocking TE to compensate Dennis Pitta and Owen Daniels.

We way overreached for this pick.  I'd much rather that we just took Andre Williams from Boston College.  He's the big, pile-moving back that we have been lacking.

  2. GILMORE:

WEAKNESSES  Underdeveloped lower body with limited overall weight-room strength. Not a nuanced route runner to create separation and lacks polish releasing off the line (pinballed too easily). Limited suddeness and burst out of his breaks. Marginal creativity after the catch. Lacks top-end speed to threaten the seam. Has been a bit of a china doll and long-term durability requires evaluation. Recorded a 1.77-second 10-yard time, tied for slowest among tight ends at the combine. DRAFT PROJECTION  Rounds 6-7 BOTTOM LINE

A try-hard, developmental blocker capable of catching on as a No. 3 tight end with continued improvement in the weight room. Possesses above-average base blocking ability, hands and foot speed to carve a role.

  3. well we went defense again. Finally got a free Safety.  This dude is fast

we lost Ed Dickson. And our offense was pretty bad last year do to injury. Even if we were totally healthy last year doubt we could have made a serious playoff run. We never filled the Boldin void last season we just wanted Pitta to over compensate. We got two over the hill players in Dallas Clark and Stockley. Marlon Brown stepped up nicely. Aaron Mellete got injured. And for some reason we just stopped playing Deonte Thompson

I was saying earlier that Ozzie would go defense for the third pick.  I guess we will need to get an OL, TE, WR, and RB last.

  4. I loved the Mosley pick even thought I'm the guy screaming for offense every year.  I heard Ray Lewis put in a good word for his leadership and work ethic and it sold me on him.  I don't feel the same about the second round, but it all depends on who we get with our 2 picks in the third to take the bitter taste of the second out of my mouth.  Failed drug test is a "red flag" to me.  Too short for NT, too.  So, we have how many guys at NT?  I didn't know that the NT can keep your QB from getting knocked on his *** on every other play.  Oh well, Ozzie is 1 for 2 in my book.

  5. Jernigan's a beast but I would have loved to see the team go offense there.

I would have taken Hyde or Latimer, but we had "Sticky-icky" Ricky so I guess coach can keep "Toking" Timmy off the shizznit at least until it's nationally legalized and/or recognized as legitimate pain medicine by the NFL.

  6. Garrett had an interview with Ozzie a few days ago:

    http://www.baltimoreravens.com/videos/videos/OneOnOne_Ozzie_Reveals_Ravens_Draft_Plans/375ccc8e-b15c-468c-9d9f-901687beb2f2

I didn't pay much attention to it, because it just seems like you don't know what is truth and what is smoke when listening to GMs just before the draft. However, there was a comment early on in the interview that was telling ... I just didn't know it at the time. Garrent named 3 key positions of need (saftey, O line and WR) where we've added players during the FA period. Then he asked, "when you look to the draft, what positions do you say we need to address"

The answer "inside linebacker" came out of Ozzie without a moment of hesitation.

I was shocked, with Dix and Pryor on the board that we didn't take the best of the 2. If I only listened and could filter smoke from truth, I would have known. This was not smoke.

Mosley was the best value.  He did lead his defense to a national championship too.  That sure looks good on his resume.

  7. I agree on Moses, and I think if we trade back in the draft with the 49ers at #30 we should draft him, and get Bucannon/Ward in the 2nd round. Doing this will address our S/RT problem, plus Moses can be taken under the wing of Monroe in a special way since they both went to the University of Virginia, and not to mention we would get an additional high round pick from the 49ers.

No, no, no!  There is no "need" for "help" at WR or RB.  I get so sick and tired of hearing people say this crap.  People need to stop being in love with WRs and RBs (and QBs for that matter) simply because they are spotlight positions.  For crying out loud, we have two starter quality RBs already that any other team would salivate to have.  We have more flipping receiving targets than probably the entire NFC East combined.  At this point the only real NEED is the O-line.  Safety help is not as much of a need as some people seem to think it is.  Sure, need to fill out the roster.  But we're not exactly hurting.

I'll clarify for you in slow and simple terms.  I'd take Latimer and Hyde with the next two picks, then see what FS/OL is still around later on in the draft.

  8. I really don't see any surprise in us going the bargain route at center. Zuttah is far better than last year's centers so that will definitely be an upgrade that will help to keep Flacco upright and slinging bullets. The running game will all depend upon whethere or not Rice is suspended by the league for his casino incident and if he can recover from last year's downslide. He seems to have gotten on the right track by losing weight. Pierce is an outside runner, so we still need to consider drafting a guy like Hyde or Hill (preferably 2nd round), or even West (much later in the draft). Now the line is looking like Osemele (LG), Zuttah ©, Yanda (RG), Monroe (LT), with Wagner next up to be the RT until the draft if not more moves are made before then.

  9. My thoughts exactly. Across the board I feel fairly comfortable at every position. We kept all our Free Agents which secures many spots (Especially LT). But ... We do have only 1 TE and I would LOVE to see us draft Ebron to compliment Pitta. But if he's taken, Lee is a favourite of mine; When you watch his film .. He finishes every play he can, he's a natural baller.

There aren't many others here that seem to like Lee like I do.  He is fast, cuts well, and has sure hands.  Ebron on the other hand is a beast.  I seriously doubt that teams will be able to stop a 2 TE set with he and Pitta on the field at the same time. He is an very good blocker and can help the outside running game.

  10. I'm sure this is the guy that Ozzie had in mind when he said that he wanted a possession-type receiver in free agency. He is a lot like Mason and Q. A security blanket for Flacco when the deep men are covered. I see him making a lot of catches for us this year. Welcome to the Ravens, sir.
