  1. I'm having flashbacks to Sergio Kindle.
  2. We've had 2 bad months of football...Imagine being a redskins fan..

  4. I'll start off by saying that injuries always have and always will be a part of contract sports, but it seems that some of these injuries are preventable. I'm not talking about head injuries. The media has placed enough pressure on the NFL to take action on those. I'm talking about muscle, ligament, and tendon injuries that seem to pile up every year. We are 5 weeks in and we've lost Suggs, Camp, Elam, and Davis for the year. Canty, Perriman, and Doom have also suffered ligament/tendon/muscle injuries. I'm aware that some other teams have it worse than us, but my question is, do the Ravens and other NFL teams have biomechanist and training staff that focus on fixing movement dysfunction and preventing injuries? Do they fund research to discover other factors that may lead them to believe a player has X% chance of being injured. Considering the investment teams make for their players, the obvious answer would be "yes", but then look at a player like RG3, a #2 overall pick. Not only did he have a history of injuries coming into the league, but look at this picture from the 2012 Combine. http://static1.squarespace.com/static/5160bb45e4b0e13a258812c8/t/546e14e0e4b0f81008bb0669/1416500448964/ Those mechanics are just ugly and any sophomore student of exercise science could tell you that he is at risk of an ACL. I understand the Redskins aren't the best franchise to make an example out of, but there were many other teams willing to draft this guy if he was available. Maybe there are other factors including player personality, balance, reaction time, genetics, biomechanics, that teams should be looking at before investing so much in a player that could end up on the bench making millions.
  5. There is the stability mobility continuum. The more flexibility or mobility (not exactly interchangeable words), the greater chance you have of injury. However, if the player is too rigid and inflexible, they won't be very functional on the field. There is a happy medium and it should be different with each position group.
  6. We wouldn't have to have these discussions every week if Flacco had 2 things... a solid offensive line and a couple legitimate weapons. My biggest issue with Flacco in the past was his footwork, and he you can see he has worked hard on that over the last 2 years. 2012 playoffs we're a beautiful thing for Flacco because he knew the O-line would protect him and he had a stable of receivers that he trusted. (mostly Boldin)
  7. I did the same thing. After the incompletion, I turned off the TV and went to bed all pissed off. Woke up to text messages from some friends who are Pittsburgh fans telling me the Ravens are lucky to have Tucker...
  8. I'm not convinced Oakland is a dud team. They have some serious weapons.
  9. After the way the first 3 games played out, we are in the best position possible at the moment. Won a tough game, 10 days to recover, and key players coming back to play at home.
  10. Gotta make that catch
  11. The steelers have watched the tape. They'll let us walk in, save 1.5 minutes and then our d will let them walk in.
  12. There goes the only fast player on the offense. Bye camp!
  13. This team doesn't seem to care.
  14. This is making me and John Harbaugh sick
  15. I just wish they would give us some sort of timeline. What worries me is that they aren't even releasing what his injury is. Knee injury? Cool, is it MCL sprain, meniscus, tendonitis? Don't they normally give a little more information?
  16. This defense does not "Play Like a Raven". I remember the days when the defense had swag and other teams were fearful to face up against them because the Ravens were going to punch you in the mouth and take the ball away. Now, these were the same days when our offense could only muster 10 points, but man do I miss seeing a top tier defense. It doesn't feel right.
  17. What we need is someone on the current roster to step up as a leader. Harbaugh is a great coach, but the players need someone on the field to look up to and now with Suggs out, they don't have that. Good leadership brings the most out of the players and allows them to play beyond their potential. It's sickening to see the others team offense just trot down the field in the 4th quarter while our defense has seemingly already accepted defeat. Someone needs to step up and say "oh hell now, this is not going to happen".
  18. It will still take him a while to get back up to speed and don't expect him and Flacco to have an immediate connection. Those things take time. Mentally, however, he should know the playbook like the back of his hand.
  19. Well that was kinda depressing.
  20. I think this might be the new norm for our defense. Manning could've dropped a few TD's on us if he could've thrown the ball better. Both the Broncos and the Raiders had WR's open all day. Not a good things especially when combined no Suggs.
  21. I can't stand the Steelers. They have ruined some post-season runs in the past and they always put up a good fight. But I respect them and I appreciate the way they play. The Patriots are a different story. They are arrogant, self-righteous punks who win by pushing the boundaries of the rules or breaking the rules all together. I hope karma catches up to them.
  22. I think its worth signing him just so we can avoid any chance of seeing him in a Patriots uniform.
  23. Boldin went OFF in the playoffs. He shows up when we need him the most. Find a way to keep Q around.
  24. Watched that movie a few weeks ago. I agree with a 3.5 out of 5. I couldn't count how many times I went back to watch Therman (Galifianakis) laugh. Too funny.
