whaaaaat???? no way... just because we often notice similar things on tape doesnt mean i parrot what he says - im a lot lower on a lot of prospects he loves or thinks the ravens might pick - OJ howard, haason reddick, marlon humphrey (we havent mentioned him in a while lol), jonathan allen, dan feeney, elflein, charles harris, tj watt, quincy wilson - im probably higher on corey davis, conley, mckinley (maybe...), witherspoon, juju

we just agree vehemently on mcdowell, john ross, tim williams and derek barnett who seem to be the most talked about prospects on this board

I've got a few likes. There's quite a few that think it. You never state your opinion on someone first

You copy and paste an NFL.com link and think you're providing analysis? NFL.com is a complete joke and everyone knows it.

Make your own analysis based on film and relate it to how he improved the ravens, then you'll have some credibility.

And not sure what flexjr is supposed to mean.. we just happen to agree on a lot of prospects. Me and grim have agreed on a lot of prospects over the years as well. People have their tastes

He parrots everything you say. I dunno how you haven't noticed it. If it wasn't you or about 5 or 6 others I'd actually think it's someone with a second account. There is quite a few who have noticed it lol

Idk when i see ross' tape i see a more refined desean jackson. The only thing i worry about is his durability.

I think Jacksons a lazy comparison just because they are both fast. He offers a lot more than him imo.

Trade back pick up and extra 3rd and take him and id be very happy

Why is McDowell the hot name all of a sudden?  I get we traded Timmy but I wouldn't read into things too much.  Supremely talented player but a ton of question marks that come along with him.  I would not be considering him at 16 at this point.

This. Late first early second for me

I've always felt that way about these guys. If a first overall talent falls out of the top 5 because of injuries, then clearly the doctors know more about his injury than the average fan, I wouldn't wanna touch him.

The saints though are so desperate for an impact up front, they'd be hard pressed to pass up that short term

Maybe they would take the gamble on him. I'm just not sure if he has the degenerative shoulder injury and he falls outside the top 5 he could just keep tumbling

Weighing in drafting a qb late.

I haven't been against the idea, I still think mallett in a scenario where we need him to step in for a month and go .500 would let us down, last year I said trevone Boykin or dak Prescott in the 5th could be a move that pays off, but I definitely prefer having Judon.

I also know that joes time could be over within 4 years, it's unlikely unless he starts getting hurt a lot, but it's possible. And if he doesn't get his footwork together and continues to regress then having a guy waiting in the wings could pay off as well, however, I think it's a much better move to continue building around joe, and chad Kelly is a diva, the stuff with the girl is way overblown but he's still a diva and he's inconsistent as hell, he just isn't the qb I would spend a late pick on. Now if Davis Webb were to fall to the 5th then sign me up, at that point I'd be ok with joe just finishing out his deal here unless he's willing to take an extension that an older player typically gets

Davis Webb will be the best qb from this class if he's given a chance!

I couldn't see the saints passing on him, they need the most elite player they can possibly find for the front seven and Allen blows everyone else out of the water

I don't think he'll even get that far but I'll play. If his injury is enough that someone like the bears take him of his board because docs feel you night only get 2 or 3 years from him, would you pick that player in the top half of the first round? I know if the ravens did and it came out docs said you won't see the end of his contract I'd be livid if we took him.

On the other hand if doctors say you'll get 8 years from him he won't fall outside the top 3

    Why the hype?

Assuming health, he can get separation like no one else in this class, he is a guy defenses will have to account for every snap, we can actually have a good returner again. Tons of room for improvement as well as while he is decent at routes, he can certainly get better there.

Also Perriman made plenty of spectacular catches but had quite a few drops in college. Think his drop rate was around 15%. And while Ross doesn't win jump balls a lot(wow, go figure with his size), the guy has had his share of really nice catches and his drop rate for last year was less than 5%.

Reasons why I would be concerned, health, not winning jump balls if your quarterback can't throw a deep ball where Ross doesn't have to wait everytime for the ball. Second one doesn't really apply to us although you could argue fit as we already have a ton of speed on the field. I'd just say Ross can win underneath with that quickness as CBs will be too scared of his speed. And if you give him extra attention, that opens things up for Wallace and Perriman.

Not my favorite pick at 16 but if healthy I would be fine with it and comparing him to Perriman based on 40 times is a disservice to both players.

    Sensible post finally.

I don't think you told anyone anything they don't already know. Many on here, myself included, believe that Ross wouldn't be a good fit here, and that there are some concerns about him. But I haven't seen anyone say Ross doesn't have the potential to be an explosive playmaker in the NFL.

Oh really? Give an example of him having hands, body control, or a ball attacking mentality. Those are raw skills, not routes which can be picked up by any player who doesn't have stiff hips

Ok, but the injuries are real. And if you acknowledge they're a reason not to take him above 16... why is it so wrong to not want to take him at 16.

He has the injuries for that reason. He's like 5'11", 180lbs. With bad knees.

Speeds the first thing to go with bad knees.

Take away the speed, and the tools arent there to be a #1 WR.

I dont think anyone's hating on him. I recognize he's a good player and may be a play maker. But when i look at everything outside his speed, i see average to pretty good. So if you take him high, you're placing a pretty big investment at that speed -- bc it is what will separate him in the NFL and make him truly dangerous. His ability to separate, get YAC, make big plays - all tied to that speed.

And a guy with 2 bad knee injuries already, makes that big of an investment unwise imo. If you hit the jackpot, great.... if you dont you used the 16th pick to maybe get a Tyler Lockett type player, and if the injuries show up and sap his speed you have a guy who likely isnt serviceable in the NFL.

If he didnt have 4.2 speed, and more like 4.45-4.5 speed - no ones touching him in the top 2-3 rounds.

You obviously didn't see these posts @BOLDnPurPnBlacK

That I have to disagree with. With 4.5 speed, he'd still be a great route runner with good hands that has a knack for scoring in the redzone. He'd basically be a young Edelman, and still go in the 2nd.

Exactly. It's not his speed that makes him a great prospect

  12. If john ross diidnt have an injury history he wouldn't be on the board when we pick.

This is one of the best wide receiver draft (at the top level) in years, 2nd only to the year obj etc came out (Still can't believe Allen Robinson fell to the bottom of the second)
