Steve Smith was such an underrated signing. The fire he has and hopefully shares is priceless. Off topic but he's got such a baby face for being in the league that long lol
How could he be nothing but fired up. Bet he invited them all to McDonalds lol
I hope this comes back to sting the steelers in a big way after a 3td performance. smh I can only hope lol
And I hope it's that 5'9" corner that gives up at least one while Maxx and Perriman both get one of the tds

Talking about concerns has a pretty deserving place in fan forums. We have a serious quality depth issue at an extremely important position that was the sole reason for the loss in Foxborough. Yes, it's something negative. It's also true.
I think a few cb's already on the roster will impress/improve, may pick up a vet after cuts, and think our pass rush will be as good or better this year so not too worried yet. Besides, not like a team can carry 4-6 high quality cbs (just in case someone I'd injured)
Guess I'll start with 87 this year but maybe Perriman (just to show I support and believe in him)
Secondary crew takes time to come together. If the Ravens have to start swapping people in and out like last year and it will be a long season again. Honestly, Ravens have too many players coming off serious injuries for them to heal completely and get back to their "old" self. The Denver game could easily be a another blow out by Payton but most teams will try and run on the Ravens now that Ngata is not there.
I see teams trying to attack our secondary just as much as the run. We all know we faired pretty well when Ngata was suspended and I'm sure other teams noticed the same
I think Maxx is a stud and I called that 2nd round pick of him, but I think Maxx won't be OROY for one reason. He plays for the Ravens. Sorry to burst everyones' bubbles but the media hates Baltimore..... Mosley was clearly the DROY last year and they gave it Aaron Donald who didn't even play as a starter all season. Even if he gets 800 yards next season, I can honestly see them going with Amari Cooper or one of the higher drafted receivers instead.
I don't see it either but more due to how we try to maintain a balanced attack. Not only run versus pass but look at all the targets that flacco now has to throw to. Just don't see Maxx getting the stats to be considered.
with the amount of corners we had last yr that got hurt im SURE we can find some excellent players in that group to back up Smith and Webb. Im not understanding why people see this as a problem
Agreed, everyone is acting like Smith and Webb are both already hurt. Depending on how camp goes and what's out their... Oz may pick up a vet on a cheap deal for insurance but would not be surprised if they didn't feel as though they needed to
Fun times at Dallas have started:
Although a politically correct reply by their fo... I get the feeling something else will happen (probably before his suspension is up)
Who specifically was I attacking, The Ravens and it's fans, all general, no one specific unlike Huntrr? My stuff is very similar to what he was saying about the Steeler organization as a whole and specifically Colbert.
Why so bitter? You can't really expect ravens fans to believe williams wasn't the steelers target (only they know). And it sounds like dupree was ahead of perriman on our board but personally... I'm happy with our new wr which seemed to be a bigger need for us.
Or maybe even a little pressure to get Tucker's agent to agree to a deal.
Either way, it's a win win but this kid would really have to impress (and then some) to make tucker or his agent worry. Almost a guarantee he'd get a better offer elsewhere if given the opportunity
could you explain that for me. Not sure i understand. I hear people talk about guys getting separation all the time, but in the NFL really do you have a lot of separation. Unless you have play calls that scheme a guy to be running wide open you rarely find a WR that constantly catches the ball with 2-3 yards of space between he and the DB. No knock to you, but honestly it just seems like another misrepresentation of Marlon Brown. I'm not saying he leaves DBs in his wake or anything, but i don't see how his separation or lack thereof is any different from any other WR we had on the team last year. Actually in terms of YAC average Brown was 2nd only to Steve Smith and that's usually a good indication of a WR catching the ball with space between him and the defender.
Just my opinion but seemed that brown rarely got separation unless is was from a play scheme. Not saying he's incapable but I look at him more as a redzone or situational wr versus a true wideout. I don't see him drawing the best cb or a safety to help cover him but I do think in situations he would shine
steelers fans will argue to the death that senquez golson would intercept any pass thrown to waller with his incredible ball skills, and then theyll argue that golson was their original target in the 2nd and we didnt steal williams from them
Only after they delete all the pissed off fan comments about us jumping up and taking their replacement to Miller
Torrey Smith was by far our most successful rookie WR. I agree that Perriman is better than Torrey in almost every way when both got drafted, but Torrey was a 2nd Round prospect and Perriman was taken in the 1st.
When you get taken in the 1st Round, there will be a lot of expectation. I'm going to wait and see if Perriman can surpass Torrey in year one because it seems the environment is perfect for him to excel with our strong running game and lack of depth at WR.
I'll be happy if he produces like Torrey in year one, but in my opinion, he is perfectly set to produce like Beckham Jr.
I think Perriman will do well his rookie year but not expecting huge stats knowing the Ravens try to be balanced (run/pass) and I don't recall a year where we have so may options. If he puts up huge numbers it either means many other players are struggling or Perriman plays like he cant be stopped
He was forced into playing his rookie year, but you also hope he can capitalize and improve on that success in year two. That didn't happen, and it's not like he really had that much keeping him from the field either. He had every opportunity to seize that WR3 role and failed to do so early in the year. He had a rough camp and a rough preseason. Later in the year, I think he really started to show shades of the guy we saw in his rookie year. He was effective, but I don't think there's any argument that he took a step down from what we saw his rookie year, especially in the early portions of 2014. It was a very slow start for him, even rendering him a healthy scratch twice I believe.
Also only seemed to get open due to play calls or DB mistakes IMO (not always but to me he just struggled getting separation)
Not addressing cornerback in the draft causes me no concern whatsoever. The Steelers overdrafted to take 3 cornerbacks (Golson, Hollman, Grant) and maybe 1 of them will make it in the NFl. That's Golson who at 5'8/ 175 is so little he is limited to playing slot corner in the NFL. He had a lot of interceptions but also allowed a lot of TDs. Grant isn't athletic enough to hold up in the NFL at corner and Hollman is a "contact adverse matador that won't last his rookie contract". We are actually very deep in the secondary now that the IR players have returned. Adding Lewis was a HUGE move. He is an NFL proven safety. He and Will Hill are locked in at safety. Elam and Levine are backups at safety. Smith is a shut down corner on one side. That leaves Melvin, Webb, Brooks, Gorrer and Jackson to compete for the other corner spot and the nickel. Walker looks like a project headed for special teams. Even if Marcus Peters or Johnson were available to us and we had selected them I'm not sure they would have ended up starting for us without injuries happening. But they weren't available so we drafted the BPA. A solid draft was the result. Great job Ozzie
Looked on Steeler board after we grabbed Max Williams and not only were Steeler fans pissed but a few talked about Golson covering and shutting down Perriman. Tough task giving up 6 inches in height and covering a very fast receiver lol
Justin manton is apparantly a prodigious kicker... But we have tucker..
Whats the point ? I know hes ranked the number 1 kicker in college football but camp competition for tucker?
probably more about not wearing our guys out
not sure why anyone is upset about this pick, all i heard over the last month was get Joe weapons, we need someone to replace Torrey's speed....We hit the daily double with a 4.24 40 guy who happens to be 6-2 212.....And the drops, they came early, he finished the season strong, and at his pro day he didn't drop a thing....Every player drafted has pros and cons, i happen to think this guy can be groomed to be a stud....JMO...
Agreed, also like how well he boxes out cb's
Personally I see us keeping yanda and getting a comp pick for ko. Don't see us paying top $ for two guards
Oher, Harewood, Birk, Yanda, KO
Lol, 4 players that could play tackle on the same line lol
would be great to get our away game with them in the first 3 weeks but we all know we will end up getting then for the fourth game lol
But in a way, I would prefer that so I don't hear steeler fan friends say "if Bell was playing" yada yada yada
Yeah, his Raiders deal is ~$3M minimum and can get up to $5M through incentives, reportedly. The exact figures of the base/incentive are a little different depending on source.
Good info, thanks you
Not sad on missing out on Crabtree at all.
Agreed, didn't Miami offer 3 million?

it will be interesting to see if their receiver's or Brady's completion % change much
time will tell I guess
