  1. Well now we know don't we. If Yanda would have been a better alternative then we would have put him there, but they didn't because he wasn't. If you agree with EVERYTHING PFF has to say then you should really think about cutting the cord. :borg_assimilation_faces: Thinking for yourself is actually good for you.

Of course you don't have any evidence because it doesn't exist. Saying that Marshal Yanda could play those positions is nothing more than pure speculation.

Perhaps he can play cb if the crazy injuries happen to us again? Never hurts to have a back up plan right. Lol

Anyway, having guards that can cover Rt or center increases there value and has to be a reason he hasn't been tried out at center when gino was here but I don't see how moving him to center would lengthen his career so seems like a moot point

  2. Let's hope these two gentlemen can stay healthy because they have a potential high upside and will help immeasurably in the pass rush department.

Agreed, been excited about klm for 2 years now and urban also looks like a draft gem. If both stay healthy and show the talent they have it will be some very tough decisions to make getting down to the teams 53

  3. Upshaw I believe was the starter his rookie season for a good chunk. Suggs went out with his achilles so I think Upshaw started at least the first 5-6 games of that season. He played a significant number of snaps because Suggs was pretty awful that season, and he has his reasons he tore his achilles and rushed back but was a non factor the Super Bowl year. Harbaugh called Upshaw "An elite run stopper" because he is one of the best in the league at setting the edge and stopping runs for huge gains. Unfortunately the NFL is going pass happy so he isn't as valuable of a player as he would have been ten years ago. He is still a huge part of our defense because outside of Suggs who can do everything, Upshaw is the only other one who is good at run stuffing. Dumervil is a one trick pony of getting after the quarterback, but honestly if we didn't have Upshaw I could definitely see teams like Cincinnati and Pittsburgh run all over us. Luckily that isn't the case and our defense does a great job at keeping those games lower in score for the offense to do something about it.

Hoping other teams de-value Upshaw since he doesn't get sacks and we can sign him to a good deal for both him and the team

  4. I don't think the 8 Tds is too hopeful - however I think 1000 yards will be difficult to obtain for him- just bc i think a substantial amount of yards will be distributed between each receiver. I almost don't see any reciever topping 800 yards - even if SSS did it I would be genuinely surprised. Id love for him to prove me wrong though.

Agree with ya about spreading the ball around and a solid run game. If sss gets 1000+ yards it would mean other wr's & rec'd (a few) were struggling IMO

  5. Slow starts by the offense have been ongoing problems since Harbaugh took over as head coach. Even before last year, there have been several times when Flacco & the offense have disappeared for entire halves and more. I'm not sure if that is more Harbaugh's fault or Flacco's though.

I always thought both offense & defense started slow

  6. Lets not forget the best thing you can do to help your secondary, Get to the Qb in less then 3 seconds. We did more then sign some DB's to help our secondary. Them boys on the front 7 are no joke.

Agree and the bubble wrap he is talking about might be our pass rush to limit the time our corners have to cover. I'm pretty excited about the additions and think the only additions now would be to cover unexpected injuries, ungraded if a thin position ain't where they want it at camp, or just a crazy opportunity falls in his lap.

  7. Just hope Jimmy returns in the same form he was last year. Last year I think he was a top five CB. Be nice if Webb could get back to the player he was a few years ago before his injuries. Webb is a multi-tasking DB, who can work with safeties and switch up from cover the blitz or run defense. When he is healthy that is his strength, that is what makes him valuable. Those two healthy and what we have can handle the slot. Tray Walker could be good on the outside also, putting Webb in the slot of receivers who don't play well against the press. Somebody else would be nice find but staying healthy is what matters the most.

Agreed and why I was hoping for a vet cb to play the outside to allow Webb to play slot.

  8. I really believe that we will see improvment in Elams game.... he didnt play bad as a rookie... not as well as we had hoped but not bad either. I think we will see him break out of that sophomore slump....and see improvement.... but he will need to make plays in limited time.... bc Lewis and Hill will be the starters. I am not as optimistic about Aruthur Brown.... and I get that CJ and DSmith are playing at a high level but Arthur is not even dressing for many games and not contributing even via special teams... little worried about ABROWN hope he proves us all wrong! Would love to see him and CJ securing the middle for a long time to come!

Moving elam into different positions caused him to struggle last year (at least some of his struggles) but now safety position has been filled with some real competition so elam has an uphill battle but hoping for best. Can elam or brown play special teams?

  9. They figured that out pretty fast. Not much time to see the new guys work so what they DID see, must have been pretty good. Cool!Supernaw will get another job. The boy has talent, just not as much as the guys we have now I guess. Wenning is no real surprise although I bet he's ticked that an undrafted rookie beat him out in just a couple days.

Certain the fo was comfortable with what they had at those positions and perhaps the ravens decided to cut them now to better their chances to get on another team (like they've done before)

  10. Why do people believe Steve Smith will get cut? Was I the only person watching the games where the 36 year old was the only person on our offense when it was stalled for quarters like in both the Bengals games and several others...? I really don't think this team would have went to the play offs at all last season if we didn't sign Steve Smith when we did. Most the other receivers had trouble getting open against average cornerbacks and Steve Smith would still somehow get open all season for the most part as a #1 receiver at 36 years old.

    Agree 100%
