I've always wondered, when your starting pitcher isn't having a good day, he gets taken out, but when a qb sucks, we're stuck with him for 4-5 games before he gets replaced? If your backup qb isn't ready, why is he on the team?

Just not enough quality starting QBs out there and they rarely get 1st team snaps therefore don't have chemistry with other starters is my quess

When you say you'd take x-player over Flacco, is it to play in our system, or are they bringin' their playbooks with them?

Rodgers' insane ability to throw on the run is the reason I think he is the only person in the league who would play better than Flacco does in this system and with this cast.

Agreed, and could you imagine brady behind our current o-line and receivers that usually take time to get open

It makes perfect sense except to those who refuse to remember the past and those are the ones that are condemned to repeat it.

In the last analysis it's fruit from the poisoned tree.

As I look back into the past/recent post... I realize I'm just wasting my time but anyway.

Can you elaborate as to why you think his term as HC factors into how he'll perform as an OC?

It's mainly a footwork issue especially when you pull. If you're used to pushing off with one foot it can be difficult to learn to push off with the other without crossing your feet (which makes you off balance and easier to push back). I've seen plenty of guys that just could never get this down. Try it. Stand up, flat footed and square. Turn 90 degrees to the right while taking a big step. Did you step with your left foot? Wrong technique (right foot 1st). Try it again, this time do it to the left side (left foot should step 1st). Kinda like driving a car - you know how to drive pretty well but now drive in England on the opposite side of the road (traffic circles are the worst). Outside of the opposite, there's really not too much difference. With a right handed QB, typically the LG pulls more so usually you want a more athletic player but that doesn't really affect switching between the two.

Appreciate the feedback, I figured the footwork was the main thing but didn't know what else and was curious when it was mentioned that Jensen was playing out of position at RG

After his performance on Sunday, Tavon Young has moved up to 8th on the PFF Rookie List.

    "8. Tavon Young, CB, Ravens

Tavon Young was playing in sub-packages the first four weeks of the season before finally getting the start against Washington, where he maintained his high level of play. His 0.62 yards per coverage snap are better than the likes of Seahawks CB Richard Sherman and Broncos CB Chris Harris Jr. at this point."

Limited snaps but ya can't ask for much more than he's done so far.

    Appreciate the post rmw

Would someone with a connection to John Eisenberg please tell him to go back and look at the deep pass that he claims Breshad Perriman "dropped" early in the game and notice the defender yanking his right shoulder down at the last second before the ball came down?
My gripe with it is that this is the second or third article where he takes the time to specifically mention that play and yet, he is dead wrong about it being a dropped pass. Just because the referee did not call it a pass interference or defensive holding does not necessarily mean that he dropped it.
There are much more glaring problems with this offense than one particular "dropped" pass anyway. At least be accurate about it if you're going to jump on a guy for a particular play over and over again in your articles!

Haven't seen the replay but did look odd how he stretched out one arm completely and the other shortly after

Theres ways to protect Joe besides just the blocking of the front line. Theres adding a tight end on the left to help block, theres moving the pocket, theres roll outs, with a good run game theres play action, quick hits, better out routes, all kinds of things Trestman ignored.

    Well said Sami

Marty's success hinges on his o-line and what he can do to help them.

Unrealistic to expect dramatic changes quickly but if our o-line hadn't struggled the last 2 weeks, we could easily be 5-0

Nobody cares what fans are screaming for. Fans scream for players to be benched after one bad play.

As Bill Parcells said, if you start listening to fans, you'll be sitting with the fans.

Fans don't determine who gets fired and who doesn't. They are fodder. They don't have that kind of power.

Agreed but gotta admit that it almost get embarrassing (by association) reading some of the stuff on these boards.

Most can easily be dismissed or laughed at but times like now the boards are infested lol

Personally Yanda was a beast at RT, and filling in a RG is easier to do during the season....The bookends have to be solid with todays outside pass rushers....Love this move, and love we brought him back, he has solid experience.....JMO.....

I'll second that and with all the o-line injuries... Experienced depth was needed

I didn't realize there was a big difference between the left and right guard position. Can anyone elaborate?

Great. The offense stinks. Fire the OC coordinator. The special teams play stunk. Fire the ST coach. The team doesn't make good adjustments in-game. Fire the HC. So who is going to coach the team? If everyone needs to be fired for poor execution where will the geniuses come from? At least I haven't heard any "fire Pees" for a couple of weeks.....

I've still heard a few "fire Pees" comments (but they have died down a good bit).

Tell ya, if the team fired coaches/players as often as fans requested... We'd be the Browns reincarnated

I'm wondering what to expect at ILB next week, assuming Mosley is out with a hamstring.

They'll probably primarily use McClellan next to Orr and maybe mix in more dime, but maybe we'll see some Correa. It's going to be a rough afternoon covering RBs out of the backfield if McClellan is placed in coverage situations.

Wasn't really impressed with McClellan at ILB the last game. I believe filmstudy said they ran the dime package 10 times after Mosley got hurt.

Would love to know who's getting 1st team reps while Mosley is out

I can't think of anything that makes me more angry than watching the ravens throw a screen. They don't work for us, scrap them harbaugh, wasted down.

But a freaking tight end screen.. Honestly. What good could come of that in any situation outside of 3rd and goal from the 1? When has any coach expected a tight end to gain a full 10 yards to convert a 3rd down? They aren't built to make defenders miss in the open field, they're a coverage mismatch. Not a running back or return specialist. Those made me so mad yesterday.

Haven't seen good screens since ray rice but you wasn't the only one screaming about TE screens and of coarse the passes on third down constantly 2-3 yards short of the marker

I like how adaptive he seems. He can work with many personnel groups. He can run, go deep, dink and dunk, sounds good. However I don't like that it says his offense is based on timing routes to open the playbook and he stretches the field horizontally early...

I just hope he can stretch the field both ways, like deep slants, deep ins and outs, a drag from the outside wr while the slot wr runs a seam or a deep comeback, basically I hope he understands we need to attack multiple levels for our personnel to work and a heavy dose of run game is needed, trestman didn't understand that in the slightest

I was a bit concerned about how he used short passes (timing ones) to open up the run also.

No clue as to the types of players he had as a coordinator compared to ours but I agree that it can't just be those short timing passes to set things up.

He has to keep defenses guessing by attacking all levels at any given time
