I'm not saying they are COMPLETELY different but yes, they are different. There is a reason Fluker isn't interchangeable from RT to LT and Matt Kalil isn't interchangeable from LT to RT. The two positions require somewhat different of a skill set. Both need to be at least solid (not a liability) in both areas but Fluker starts at RT because he is a mauler with slow feet while Kalil starts at LT because he is SUPPOSE to be better in pass protection while not being physically imposing as a run blocker. If they aren't that much different, why doesn't someone go ahead and sign Bryan Bulaga and slide him to LT. Might take a little adjustment with the footwork, like you said, but if the positions aren't that different then shoot, why not? He was a solid LT. With your logic, with time he should become a solid LT once he gets his kick-drag adjusted to the opposite foot.
