  1. An update on his current status would have been nice. Is he lifting? Running? 100%? etc. If isn't ready by training camp 2016 from this injury I don't think he belongs in this league.
  2. At least we all seem to be on the same page, but in this order: Pass Rusher, CB, LT, WR. I would even throw in ILB to find Daryl Smith's replacement.
  3. The Signing bonus spread out over the length of the contract evenly, along with his base salary = $28.5M. It is his base salary that is escalating because it was suppressed the first 3 years of the contract.
  4. The Cardinals have been using 3 Safety's for awhile now. They even dropped Deone Bucannon down to LB because they understand that the league has evolved into a pass happy league. We need to find Hybrid LB's that can run and cover. Mosley should be asked to play zone or blitz more often than he is put into man coverage cause TE's and RB's picked on him in almost every game this year. Daryl Smith has had one heck of a career, but he will be 34 this year and we could use more speed at the position.
  5. Just stop backloading contracts and creating salary cap situations where guys are overpaid. Flacco is worth 20M if that is the going rate for a SB winning franchise QB, but 28.5M is just absurd. He was making far less than that the last 3 years under this contract and now we have to pay up and don't want to. Go ahead and extend him out, drop the cap number for the NOW, and backload the contract even more so were paying 30M a year for 35 year old QB. It all makes sense... NOT
  6. In Biscotti's presser he spoke about his appreciation for Suggs and the realization of how important he was to this team. How Ozzie envisioned ZaDarius would be used in YR1 as McPhee's replacement, and that he now realizes how important it is to have multiple pass rushers. He mentioned that there would be an emphasis in the offseason to ensure that we have multiple guys who get get after the QB. My money says we take a pass rusher in the 1st or 2nd Round depending on how they see CB depth, but we also have plans to use multiple picks on rushers.
  7. Backloading contracts is not beneficial to players. Front-loading them would be however, but creates a higher risk as more money is already invested in a player. I understand that guys care about guaranteed money, signing bonuses, and often incentives make deals more complex. What I am saying is that Ozzie and Co. INTENTIONALLY backload contracts so they can stay under the cap in the given year. You could easily pay Monroe his bonus, AND spread his base salary evenly throughout the length of the contract so we have more room in the out years, but we REFUSE to do so. Sorry for the caps, they just highlight my frustration with the situation.
  8. Didn't we just draft a WR in the 1st Round? And now our fearless leader SSR is coming back. And we developed Aiken and Butler into reliable options as well. We don't need Julio Jones, we need JJ Watt or Justin Houston. (Emmanuel Ogbah). We need to stop the best QB's in the league. The best way to do that is to minimize the time they have to throw, minimize the time our corners have to cover so they can play more confident/agressive, and lastly GATA.
  9. Last Sunday I saw the reason why we drafted Mad Maxx. It looked like he had ODB hands and could catch everything thrown his way. The one handed catch on his shoulder and the defender might have only been for 2 yards, but it was one of the better catches I have seen. He needs to be much more involved as a weapon next year. He isn't a rookie no mo.
  10. Ike Taylor might be a Squeeler, but he is 100% right about Antonio Brown and Steve Smith. Hard work beats out talent every time and twice on Sunday. Congrats to B-Will!
  11. Take your money and run Dennis. You have the means to enjoy life and give back to others. If you love the game I'm sure there will be opportunities in coaching, commentating, etc.
  12. Does the Haloti contract ring a bell? But even making a deal YR1 like the Monroe contract means you will have 1M less each year in cap space for the length of the contract instead of just paying a flat base salary throughout the contract, which would give you more space to work with down the road. It seems as if everything is designed to pay for success "this season" only and we just want to wipe the slate clean each year from a budgeting/personel perspective. I think we just keep getting in our own dang way. Keep disciplined and maybe we would have more room to play with in each offseason as guys come off of their contracts.
  13. Why do we continue to backload contracts? We are just going to extend Flacco and Backload it even more, just like we did with Webby after we asked him to take a paycut. It leaves you stuck and unable to cut/move players who are aging or underperforming. Spending money isn't the issue, it is the management of the spending and the way we have worked out the contracts that are killing this team from making any significant moves as well as keeping our own free agents.
  14. In all honestly, a guy who can do what Upshaw does on the edge, but can also get to the QB in passing situations is what we need. Emmanuel Ogbah will make a career out of harassing the QB. I take him with my number 6 pick. Trade back up with all the comp picks and our 2nd Rounder to draft Mackenzie Alexander before he is gone. We need impact guys, not guys who might be good enough to contribute on a team.
  15. Cinci still has our number. With that loss we end up with the 6th Pick Overall. Emmanuel Ogbah watch one highlight and look at his game logs in college. It is a no brainer.
  16. There are a lot of what ifs. Good teams finish games. Remeber when we used to blow out the bad teams and sometimes even the good ones? That was because our defense was always on attack mode and we had playmakers that believed it was their job to win the game. We also had a Offensive Coordinator that went for the kill shot. I think this team is setting itself up for a solid 2016, but Ozzie and Harbaugh did not have them ready to make it through 2015 on top, and we still need more defensive playmakers to get there. PS: Injuries happen to everyone, every year. Bad calls go against teams every year. Great teams overcome adversity, and the 2015 Ravens were just mediocre even if you take out all the bad breaks. I'm not calling for Ozzie's head. I am saying he needs to hit on his 1st and 2nd day picks more often than has been in the last 5 years. You can't deny that we have been drafting less pro bowlers under Harbaugh than under Billick. That is a fact.
  17. A win in Cinci to end the season means so much more that a few spots in the draft. It would however be more meaningful if Dalton was playing. We could finish the season 4-2 in the Division which would be really encouraging entering 2016 and I think it would put this teams focus back on to contending in 2016, as well as motivating guys in the offseason.
  18. I love the fact that he waited for us to beat Pittsburgh before he made his announcement. Just two years of practice with this guy has Aiken and Butler grooming into reliable playmakers. Hopefully that work ethic rubs off on Perriman.
  19. So why did we have a losing record with Suggs, Flacco, Smith? But we pay Webby and Smith the big money? Great pass rushers sure do make CB's look better. There has been a lot of poor cap management with backload contracts and the failure to cut guys loose. Throw in the fact that we have missed on several top picks (Rounds 1-3) ever since we landed Gold in the Flacco Rice draft and you have a team in rebuilding mode in 2015.
  20. I haven't seen anything from Lewis-Moore? I'm ready to give up on can't cover Elam...Thats why we signed Lewis and Hill. Camp is unreliable. Art Brown has 2 tackles on the SEASON. Zadarius is the only guy on that list that helps us beat the best QB's in the league, but you can't expect a rookie 4th Round pick to come in right away and replace an elite pass rusher that played OLB, DE, and DT depending on the down and distance. That is our current issue. Tray Walker never got a shot on this defense when we were desperate for CB's so my expectations are low. If you want to find a legit corner you need to invest in the position with a high draft pick or sign one for big money. My preference is the draft. Injuries are not the reason why this team is picking in the top 10.
  21. McPhee has play wrecking ability and could play DE, DT, and OLB depending on the down and distance. He could defend the run, but also get after the QB better than just about anyone on this team EX Suggs who is aging. And Doom is not ideal in run support (aka situational). Brandon Williams is a beast as well, but he isn't really the guy to get it done in passing situations either. This is a passing league. You can't just stop the run and make teams one dimensional anymore. You need guys that force QB's to make mistakes. I think Zadarius shows great potential and is starting to make an impact as he is getting in to NFL shape. If you look at him, he looks almost 20 lbs heavier than when he came in, but we asked a 4th Round Rookie to fill the void of an impact player that played all over the field and made work for Suggs and Doom even easier. Going into this season with that pretty much destroyed our year. Yeah, if Suggs had a full season we would have had better performances, but remember when we were getting torched in the preseason by mediocre offenses and scratching our heads/saying that we were not giving our all because its the preseason? Suggs wasn't enough to keep this defense from unraveling, it was only a matter of time. We were never contenders with the personel we started the season with, and that is where I am coming from.
  22. That was a great catch, but I need to see this guy making contested catches before I get on board. I haven't seen him win any 50/50 balls like SR and Aiken. I think Butler shows more upside and has been consistent.
  23. Please explain to me why we let McPhee walk and we have maybe 1 cover corner who looks overpaid? Or that we haven't drafted a CB in the 1st 3 rounds since 2011 (Jimmy Smith). OR that we haven't drafted a pass rusher in the 1st 3 rounds since 2010 (Sergio Kindle) (Kruger 2009)? OR that we just drafted an ILB with the 17th pick that is too big/slow to cover running backs and TE's? A total liability is passing situations unless he is blitzing. We need ballers all over the field. I haven't seen a "Great" Ravens defense since Chuck Pagano left for Indy.
  24. And on the Butler pancake. That was just a simple "chip" block before he ran his out route. That's Raven football right there. Give him more reps.
  25. So 9 of the top 10 Defenses will make the playoffs? See the recipe Ozzie and Harbaugh?
