  1. Lets stop talking about it and work with the hand we were dealt. We are the only winless team in the AFC, but our opponents have tougher schedules later in the year. Just Win!
  2. I think a coordinator and his personnel must be a fit for an offense to have success. You can't simply make Trestman a zone blocking west coast coordinator. Just like Manning looked so awkward when they tried to put him under center. It's Trestman's job to assess our personnel and put them in the best position to succeed and win football games. Our recipe to win is completely different than Denver's or New England's because it has to do with the personnel Trestman has to work with. We don't have time to figure this out, that's what Training Camp and the Preseason is for.
  3. I have noticed poor discipline with backside blocking. Where the RB's are unable to get to the hole that is opening because our lineman on the backside of the play have released from their blocks too quickly. From watching it live, it seems like our backside blockers could hold their block slightly longer before they release upfield to their assignments, or they need to deliver a more powerful punch at the point of contact that knocks would be rushers back. Predictable playcalling and abandoning the run can also be blamed. As a playcaller you should use to your advantage the down and distance. When you are in a run/pass situation (Ex: 2nd and 5), run a play that allows you to do both effectively. When you are in a situation where you are showing run or it would make sense to run, go play action (Ex. 3rd and 1). Do not run the ball 3 times in a row unless the defense can't stop it. Forsett is our best back. Taliaferro is a short yardage back. Allen is a rookie who should only be used when Forsett needs a breather. Boom!
  4. They say perriman tweaked his knee in pregame warmups running a deep route. He stopped running routes after and just caught passes standing still. OUCH... I want to know what happened to Crockett and why he wasn't playing in the 2nd Half? He had his helmet on and was standing with Williams and Boyle on the sideline but never entered the game. PEES is awful. Why are we pressing WR's on 3rd and 15, but we play off 10 yards on 3rd and 5. Our Front 7 has always covered up his ineptness. Now Ngata is gone, McPhee is gone, Suggs is hurt. Dumervil can't get it done on his own and we are in desperate need of pass rushers. It doesn't matter how good your DB's are if you can't pressure the QB.
  5. Brandon Williams and Steve Smith were the only two bright spots I saw in this game. We miss McPhee almost a much as we miss Suggs. We NEED pass rushers. They are what prevent teams from throwing the ball every down and torching your corners. Shane Ray was taken by Denver right before us, and they have already have Ware and Miller. Look at how their defense has been playing. Look at Buffalo. They have been crushed by injuries in the secondary, yet their defense has played great because their Front 7 gets after the QB. The O-Line also looks incomplete to me. They have been incredibly undisciplined holding backside blocks on running plays not giving our backs a chance. Don't even get me started with the DB's on 3rd down and the scheme we were running. Pees just setting this team up for failure.
  6. We are the only team in the AFC that is 0-3. And even better, they have been against all AFC opponents. I think we are missing McPhee almost as much as Suggs. No rush = No chance. Oh yeah, the genius Pees was trying to generate pressure on Dalton by blitzing Webb several different times from the slot. Every single time we sent him, Dalton recognized the blitz pre snap and the WR was left wide open for a 1st Down. He probably sent Webb at least 4 or 5 times. The definition of insanity...
  7. Congrats Tuck! They call him Joe Cool, but Tucker has ICEEE in his veins. He must be re-signed.
  8. Man they dropped the bomb. The Ravens franchise has NEVER started 0-3. Never say never. I think M&T Bank stadium will be rocking, and in full support of the team, knowing it is a must win game. The Offense needs to get off to a fast start to keep the crowd into it. Anyone who says it isn't a must win game is lying. We have 3 must win games in a row against division rivals.
  9. Why isn't it always heightened? Why do we let these games slip? Whether it is now or later in the season, it always seems to happen. Our room for error just got that much smaller after the 0-2 Start. If we don't win 10 games we are not making the playoffs. That number might even be 11.
  10. Forsett needs more snaps. He is dynamic, unlike Talifarro who is just good at moving the pile and short yardage. Remember who led the league in YPC last year? Oh yeah, he can pass block, and catch the ball out of the backfield too.
  11. You have to admit that Harbaugh has begun to point the finger at the defense blowing leads or allowing scoring drives with little time left. It starts with Pees, and there are individuals who will take the fall as well. But when it is something that has frequently happened over the last few years, it points to more than just the players.
  12. Idk how PFF rated Webb the highest DB when it seemed like he was beat the most. Also, what did Hurst do to get such a low grade? He had the task of handling Khalil Mack and I thought he held his own.
  13. This is a Dean Pees warning shot. Don't think he is safe this entire season if you remember what happened to Cam Cameron. Harbaugh has continually been vocal about his frustration of allowing last minute drives that result in points, whether it is before the half, or at the end of the game. From NE, to the Preseason, to Oakland, he is not happy about the gifts we give teams.
  14. He is a slower version of Gronk with the football in his hands. Once he get rolling, get out of the way, unless you want to go for a ride with him. Week 1, I was asking myself why we didn't target him more over the middle. Now Trestman just needs to learn basic football principles of winning, and making Oakland burn those timeouts so a worst case scenario is a Derek Carr FG drive and Overtime.
  15. I simply don't understand how the NFL could stack our schedule the way they did. How hard is it to schedule home and away every other week. 5 of the first 7 games on the road, and 4 west coast games, and 2 games vs Division Rivals? By the time this team has the opportunity to get things together and hit its stride it may be too late. We always play better in the 2nd half of the season, but the first half is littered with crucial games. PS: It's looking like we need a pass rusher more than a WR at this time. Randy Gregory is sure looking good in the 2nd Round right now.
  16. We need more vocal veteran leaders on this team. Guys who can hold things together when things are falling apart and motivate the people around them. Suggs and Smith are not enough. I was watching the spread of this game and surprisingly we were only 4.5 pt favorites. I thought that was a little strange since we stayed out west and practiced all week. This game, IMO was officiated to keep the score close. Don't know if that has to do with Vegas or "NFL Parody" but it certainly could have been called different by the zebras. If we lose one of our next two games we are 1-3 and 2 games back in the division. Oh yeah, we play cinnci and pitt.
  17. Back to back games the poor game management lost us the game. The lack was pass rush was bad news. Even for this secondary. We have to hope Babin can get after it, cause I didn't see anyone getting in there. And when can we figure out that Webb is not starting caliber any more. He gets beat too frequently. Melvin needs to come back healthy.
  18. Babin is definitely better at setting the edge than Phillips. This is really a move that says Za'darius isn't ready to be more than a situational pass rusher yet.
  19. On the final play, Flacco put too much air on the ball. It either needed to be a tighter throw or led deeper into the endzone so other DB's couldn't get to it. Easy to say in hindsight. Brandon Williams was noticeably dominant. Where was the 2 TE look with some play action, that gives you the constant threat of run or pass? Our secondary looks phenomenal, minus Webb getting burned a few times in situations where the only thing you can't allow is the deep ball. Having Hill and Lewis back there is a huge. This team has quickly turned into a team that can let the defense and Tucker win games. We have played without Sizzle in the past, but that is definitely tough luck. Just take it one game at a time and turn it around Week 2.
  20. It's really Upshaw that will play more. And Zadarius will be used as a pass rusher.
  21. With all the injuries on the field on sunday for both teams, I think it would be interesting to look into injury history in denver in September or when the temperature is above 80. Maybe they should schedule night games, or be forced to play on the road the first few games if there is a higher correlation of injuries at this higher "elevation". If player safety is truly a concern that is something that should be looked into.
  22. It's incredible how we can't seem to win these big games in the regular season. Almost as if we are forever doomed to be a 5 seed and play playoff games on the road. The defense played awesome. Especially the secondary and we were missing Melvin. We could have let the Defense and Tucker win that game if we played smart with a late lead. And then somehow Flacco makes a final drive and Steve Smith forgot how to catch the ball when it matters. What a shame.
  23. Houston always gives Flacco problems because they can get there without blitzing. And when they don't get there, they have a bunch of big tall guys that Flacco can't throw over like most teams. I do agree however that Flacco doesn't utilize the checkdown as much, but that is the same with Luck. Flacco is always looking downfield for the big play, and that threat is what keeps defenses in check, and how we make splash plays that lead to scores. I would rather have a QB who can convert on 3rd and 13 than a guy who checks it down for 7 yards and punts.
  24. Bad news on Melvin and Jernigan. We could definitely use those guys. I'm not really a fan of Harbaugh playing Bill Billacheat and being completely non informative with injury updates. Just let us know how long guys are projected to be out. If it takes longer than expected it's not a big deal. People are still asking what's going on with Perriman. Once you let them know, they will stop asking the same question repeatedly.
