You are 100% right about coaching. Our defense blew way too many coverages this year. Pees has settled them down though. Jimmy Smith loses all his technique once the ball is in the air. And our offense just sits around at a pace slightly slower than the other team, so we are always in close games, but never finish teams off, or take the lead if we are down. Every game this year has been decided by a TD or less. That statistic alone says something is wrong with the direction of this team. Trestman is not a winner. The Special Teams unit is the only bright spot. Jerry Rosberg deserves all the praise he is receiving. Throw in incredible run of injuries we have had to key players and you get at product that is hard to watch. And then the officiating just seems to be 100X more awful than you could ever expect. Ruins the game flow, stalls drives, and is boring to watch. And then they are wrong on over half the calls. What happened to the NFL is what I think after every one of these games this year. I understand we commit penalties, but it is absurd at the frequency that they have been called for both teams and we even manage to commit more in every game. The good news: We are going to get an incredible draft pick that could translate into an elite playmaker for a team in need of playmakers. Jonathan Ogden, Jamal Lewis, Terrell Suggs, Peter Boulware, Chris McCalister, Duane Starks, type guys.
