  1. LOL the Ravens are "potential trade partners for Kaepernick." some people need to separate speculation with an idea of substance. Mad Respect for Flacco to finish out that game and get the W. He could have easily sat the end out and no one would have questioned it.
  2. You are 100% right about coaching. Our defense blew way too many coverages this year. Pees has settled them down though. Jimmy Smith loses all his technique once the ball is in the air. And our offense just sits around at a pace slightly slower than the other team, so we are always in close games, but never finish teams off, or take the lead if we are down. Every game this year has been decided by a TD or less. That statistic alone says something is wrong with the direction of this team. Trestman is not a winner. The Special Teams unit is the only bright spot. Jerry Rosberg deserves all the praise he is receiving. Throw in incredible run of injuries we have had to key players and you get at product that is hard to watch. And then the officiating just seems to be 100X more awful than you could ever expect. Ruins the game flow, stalls drives, and is boring to watch. And then they are wrong on over half the calls. What happened to the NFL is what I think after every one of these games this year. I understand we commit penalties, but it is absurd at the frequency that they have been called for both teams and we even manage to commit more in every game. The good news: We are going to get an incredible draft pick that could translate into an elite playmaker for a team in need of playmakers. Jonathan Ogden, Jamal Lewis, Terrell Suggs, Peter Boulware, Chris McCalister, Duane Starks, type guys.
  3. I was at that game and watching it, I was under the opinion that Flacco's turnovers were costing us the game, but once I found out about the injury I have so much respect for him. They announced that he had an ankle injury to play of his mobility, but he was playing through it to get the win. On a 2-7 team, You have to have respect for that. This is our QB. You have to get the right talent and coaching around him, look at what he is doing with nothing.
  4. JOE is losing his luster. He is the the QB of this 2-7 team and I rarely hear him talk about winning. I hear him talking about sticking together, and doing this as a team. Put this team on your back and get it done. The Browns, Jags, and Bengals? Win in front of your fans. Our only home victory was against the 2-7 Chargers. Losing close games falls on the QB. Protect the football, Trust Tucker, and don't put the defense in bad spots. FIRE TRESTMAN.
  5. Jerry Rosberg is incredibly creative and the play of the special teams units has really impressed me this year. If you look at his resume, he has ranked at the top of the league everywhere he has been. If I were Harbaugh or Biscotti, I would make sure he sticks around. If you see some of the things he draws up, I wouldn't mind him lending a hand to Trestman who could sure use some help...
  6. If you need a stacked team, around Flacco to win a SB (which you do), I would argue that he is overpaid. He shouldn't be making over $20 Million a year. Ozzie always backloads contracts and it puts us in a worse situation down the road. Here we are in that worse situation with less talent, and less cap space to build our team for 2016. Teams always think the QB is the first part of the equation, but I would argue that it should be the last part of the equation. Look at how the Steelers won their Super Bowls. Even the Ravens. We had everything in place before we got the QB to get us over the top. QB might be the toughest position to play in the league, but they are undoubtably overrated unless they are Peyton, Brady, Rodgers, Brees in their prime.
  7. More 2 TE sets! Get physical and run the ball. Control the clock, win field position, and let the defense rest. -Trestman has no clue how to win football games. Here we are at 2-7 with a soft schedule.
  8. If you read the article above, you clearly would see that his contract balloons to $28 Mill next year. And he is not a $20 Million dollar QB. He is good enough to win a SB with a great team, and coaching around him.
  9. If we waste another 1st Round pick on a WR I will vomit. There is talent to be had in the 2nd and 3rd. Look at the Steelers recipie, they have great WR's. They draft guys with speed, hands, and work ethic. The route running might not be perfect, they might be undersized, but with NFL coaching and pass friendly rules they can become studs. Mike Wallace, Antonio Brown, Nate Washington, Martavis Bryant. Our biggest issue is Flacco's contract. Then it is Trestman play-calling/lack of identity, The lack of a 3 or 4 man rush, overpaying corners who are not producing, and Dean Pees in the 2 minute drill.
  10. Thats why every time we sent a TE up the seam he was open. We didn't attack them vertically whatsoever. The have athletic ILB's that were sneaking behind the backside of the zone blocking and still making plays. That is why Forsett was struggling to get much. The success of the outside runs were more of an element of supprise when the box was stacked in short yardage. The Jag's do an excellent job stopping the run. Look where they rank in the league. But we never tried to get physical with them, impose our will, and hit them with PA in the TE sets. That was working, so don't act like their "cover 3" was the reason why we ran 3 wide the whole game.
  11. You can't put it in the refs/or our defense's hands. We knew that was a possibility if we didn't throw the ball for a 1st down. Play to win, instead of playing not to lose. MAJOR changes should be made to this team. Get more guys with guts.
  12. Give us the W then. If everything came down to the final play and that is what got them into field goal range with 0 time left. The NFL officiating is a joke. But so is this team. You can't pass on FG's with the best kicker in the league. You can't play 1 score games every week and put the game in the other team's/officiating's hands. Give me one game where we take care of business and win by 2 TD's. Every game this year decided by a TD or Less and we are 2-7. That is sickening and not healthy for the diehard's stress levels. This post is just a showing of my frustration with this team and what fans should be displaying if they want things to change.
  13. This team is so good at losing. The final play of the game is a perfect example. All we had to do was not commit a penalty on defense and tackle the ball carrier before he reached the endzone with 50 yards to go. Somehow we managed to blow that and give the Jags a shot at a field goal. We need defensive leaders to carry this team and a new Playcaller. Trestman is a joke. Why has he never lasted more than a few years with a team i his 30 year career. Because he doesn't know how to win. We are the 2014 Chicago Bears. Congrats!
  14. So why don't we run more two TE sets and run the ball instead of asking Flacco to turn backup WR's into pro bowlers?
  15. The Ravens organization needs to honestly asses this team and realize that this is not the same team as the 2014 unit, that had the future SB Champion Patriots on the ropes twice in Foxboro. We lost major contributors in Ngata, Mcphee, and Suggs. And only had half of an answer to fill that void. We thought investing more in the Secondary would improve the unit, yet we rank worse in almost every statistical category. And most importantly, we lost our offensive identity. Kubiak was a perfect fit for the personnel that we currently have. And now we have a Coordinator who has never found and offensive identity other than: we throw the ball a lot, and we do not manage the clock or control the clock/protect the ball. The good news is that this draft is stacked with talent and we are looking at a top 10 pick with and idea of what doesn't work in NFL in 2015. PS: Tucker could have had 3 FG's today if Flacco and Trestman were playing winning football.
  16. One day Perriman is gonna take the field. That will be a great day.
  17. So we just got a 3rd Round pick in his 2nd year for nothing? Very Niceeee
  18. Retire or Restructure your contract. This team needs cap space and guys who can contribute on the field. Sorry if I come across bitter, but you got your big contract after a great run, and since then have been unable to contribute to this team. Doctors said you are not cleared to play and likely will never be. Unless you want to play a few games and end up in the same place you started.
  19. The only successful WR we have ever drafted is Torrey Smith and he was a one trick pony. At WR all you really need to draft is a guy with speed, hands, and the best work ethic. It's not rocket science. But at the same time, you can go out an sign proven Vets at a discount almost every year, so why not load up on that once you have your deep threat?
  20. 1st Round Picks should be making immediate impacts and be developing into pro bowl players. Look at our history of Rookies. Mosley, Ngata, Reed, Suggs, McCalister, J. Lewis, Ray Lewis, Ogden. I could keep going, but that list should prove my point. Those are just 1st Rounders. We have had several other guys in the later rounds make a difference early as well. Why waste a year on a player when you could have a veteran balling out? We don't have time for "next year."
  21. RavensNation thanks you for your contributions Pitta. Too bad it was short lived. It sucks that you can't finish out your career like you envisioned, but you did get to win a Super Bowl with the best organization in the league and played well enough to earn a big payday that will allow you to support your family for years to come. The best thing you can do to help this organization is to retire. You are taking up cap space and this team needs help on the field.
  22. Kevin White, Nelson Agholor, Devante Parker, Breshad Perriman, Phillip Dorsett. All First Round WR's who haven't done squat to improve their teams this year. Cooper looks like a pro bowler but he was 3rd Pick. Just more evidence that taking a WR 1st Round is a huge risk and will likely not make an immediate impact. Veteran WR's make plays and can be relied upon. That is how we should build our WR core.
  23. Last in 3rd Down defense doesn't surprise me after watching the first 8 games, but that is a truly embarrassing stat to own. This defense has to step up.
  24. I have liked Terrance West. Not sure why the Browns gave up on him so quick when it usually takes a few years for players to adjust to the NFL. I think he should be on the roster once he gets up to speed.
  25. What a competitor. At 35 he was a YAC monster, always getting the extra yards. I can't think of a WR who played better at this stage in his career than SSS. I can only dream he comes back for an encore, but we should be grateful for the work he put in.
