  1. Umm no. They care about PR on issues that require PR.

Giving fans daily updates about an injured player has absolutely nothing to do with Public Relations. Its why team websites rarely post the information online... its typically beat writers who attend practice and tweet or write about what players were "limited" (which nobody even knows what this means), and when they say something wrong or speculate about it, most teams completely ignore this and don't bother to correct them, because they simply don't care.

If NFL teams weren't required to divulge injury information to the NFL, there's a pretty good chance fans would know nothing about who's injured or who's not.

Once again you're wrong. This is not about daily updates and this is not about your garden variety injury. The way the Ravens (Harbaugh) have handled this from day one is a PR stunt gone awry. Harbaugh likes to think he can say what he wants in the manner in which he wants and that's that. Well, for some it's unacceptable and it's a pathetic way in which to handle this specific situation. This equates to bad PR and they (Harbaugh) need to strongly consider their next PR move and how they handle future PR situations, topics and events. PR is not simply about Damage Control as you seem to suggest. I could be wrong on that one but regardless, this is all about PR. Not quite sure how that's lost on you as you seem to be a relatively intelligent person. If it's for the sake of debate, then I get it. lol

  2. I think if Waller was given half a chance it would help this whole Perriman disaster out. Marlon Brown and Aiken are not the answer, it's so freaking clear. Start Campanaro opposite Steve Smith and Waller as your 3rd WR. There, I just fixed the WR corps. It's really that simple. Perriman is no bust, the book is yet to be written and even though the introduction has sucked I believe we have a few good chapters forthcoming. Besides all that, Go Ravens !!!

  3. Look - if the team doesn't want to talk about injuries and wants to keep things a mystery, just come out on every player and every incident and say, "we don't talk about injuries ... wait for the mandatory injury report".

To fire back to valid questions from reporters who see him limping at practice and say "I have no idea what you are talking about" ... it is just ridiculous. I don't mind coaches firing back at reporters when they ask stupid questions, but valid questions concerning what they see with their own eyes ... just c'mon man.

It is the right of the organization to handle these things publicly as they see fit. But it is the right of reporters and fans to call into question how they've handled his injury and recovery in any way they wish, because no information breeds misinformation.

If I wasn't over it before, I most certainly am now. If he plays a single snap this season, I'll be stunned.

What a year this has been so far.

I concur... but I'm sure rmcfacket would disagree :D

  4. Cool, and at the end of the day, what either one of us feels about the situation is completely irrelevant, because the organization doesn't care how we feel about it.

They share the information with us that they want to share with us, and that's it.

Actually that's where you're wrong, it's called PR. They absolutely care and as a matter of fact they make a lot decisions based upon the fan base and how we feel about things.

  5. LOL, yeah, just paying money to watch a team play doesn't mean that you should have 100% transparency into what goes on.

You'll know when he's ready to play. That's the maximum amount of information we fans deserve to know.

For you to feel as though you deserve nothing more than what you get is just fine, for you, nothing wrong with that. I feel differently and there's certainly nothing wrong with that either.

  6. How do the Ravens benefit from the details being made public? How does it hurt them ?

Isn't this whole fan outrage thing about wanting to know information just a pure and simple case of fan selfishness? No, not at all...

It's more about the fact that many fans such as myself invest a lot of money into the team and would appreciate a bit more forthrightness. This whole top secret way of handling this situation is absurd, silly actually.

Fan selfishness ? lol that's funny
