  1. OH YOU DIDN'T KNOW?

    Marked for Road Dogg!

Enjoyed Cena's digs at The Rock but then he stopped and went to his status quo super hokey mode. Bah.

Really wasn't a great Raw but I enjoyed the returns. Slammys mean nothing so I didn't care who won what "award". I am still hopeful Ziggler will drop the US title and be inserted into the WWE title main event at TLC.

  2. Some dirt sheets have been reporting that there is backstage discussion of putting Ziggler in the main event of TLC after all, continuing his 2-matches-per-PPV streak to 3 PPVs. I would be very pleased if they went this direction. Then he could drop the US title to Ryder but still look strong in the main event of the PPV.

  3. Doubt it's Shane, he's still CEO of some other company.

Raw was okay tonight. Piper segment obviously didn't go the way WWE had planned as Cena was cheered instead of booed like they expected.

Morrison's send-off was a bit drawn out, but his strong showing despite being attacked tells me Morrison isn't finished with WWE. It would have been simple enough to have Miz dominate him, why else make Morrison look strong in defeat and have Miz crawling like a weakling?

Punk/ADR had a good match, I'm just glad Punk won and now ADR will hopefully be de-pushed. He really didn't work out as a main eventer, and did not deserve his WWE title reigns. Maybe with a retooling he can make it back up to main event status, and actually earn it this time.

I'm excited for Smackdown tomorrow night. Hope they put on a good card aside from the Daniel Bryan/Henry match, which I'm really looking forward to.

  4. Well we know now that Miz was indeed the Shawn Michaels of the Tag Team and Morrison was indeed the Janetty of the tag team. Though Melina did play her part well in making sure Morrison was the Janetty of the tag team.

I don't think there's a single accurate sentence in this paragraph. I don't recall Jannetty being in numerous WWE title matches, having the look or in-ring ability of John Morrison, the sheer athleticism, the unforgettable moments (Royal Rumble save, climbing the EC upside down, SSP off the top of the cage), the simply great matches (vs. CM Punk for ECW title, vs. Rey Mysterio for the IC title, vs. Miz for WWE title), etc. WWE dropped the ball on John Morrison, doesn't make him a Janetty. As for Melina, let's not state dirt sheet speculation as fact please.

  5. Yeah a bit poorly timed considering what it could have been, but I guess WWE didn't want Roddy Piper to outshine The Rock in a not-rigorously-scripted segment. tongue.png Because lord knows nobody can drop pipe bombs like Piper.

Whatever, looking forward to it. Hoping Piper and Punk interact. Piper AND Foley this week, AND two world title matches? Should be a good week of wrestling.

  6. THQ fixed something that didn't need to be fixed. That was the controller system, it was fine the way it was before. Now all I can do is kick, punch, irish whip and when trying to do a move like a power slam after Irish whipping him I just run into the guy. Also how is it that I try a motion for punch or kick and all of a sudden the AI can get into some kind of warp thing and reverse it unrealistically. I don't know how you guys figured out the system but I can not. Hopefully THQ can patch the old control settings back in so i can actually play the game!

I much prefer this year's control system. You need to improve your timing on the Irish whips and that'll stop happening. For strikes especially I find I have to hit my strike well before my opponent gets to me, as some rebound strikes involve lunging forward.

I'm loving the new submission system, but it seems a little easy to make guys like John Cena and Undertaker tap out. These guys NEVER tap. There should be a "Never Give Up" ability or something in the game to make it extremely hard to get these type of guys to tap, and requiring an expert submission wrestler to get the job done. Minor nitpick of course.

    My storylines so far!:

Punk retained the WWE title against John Cena at the Royal Rumble, as did Mark Henry against Randy Orton. Stone Cold Steve Austin made his shocking return at the Rumble and won it for the 4th time! Fast forward to the EC, for Raw it came down to Brock Lesnar and CM Punk, however Lesnar reversed the GTS into an F5 and ran away with the gold. Looks like it'll be Lesnar/Austin at WM this year for the title. I was going for Austin/Punk, but there's always next year. smile.png Plus this way I can really build it from Survivor Series onward. Henry retained in the Smackdown EC, and will be facing Sheamus at WM, who has been tearing through the Smackdown roster. John Cena will have his match with The Rock, and there'll also be a Fatal-4-Way #1 contenders match for the WWE title between Triple H, Kevin Nash (these two have been feuding), CM Punk (want him on the card somehow), and The Undertaker (same, don't worry, the streak is going over). Looking forward to the Austin/Undertaker feud. Yeah that's, right, Austin is going over Lesnar. Haters gonna hate, but this is a video game and I am a Stone Cold mark. minioiseau1.gif

I've already got ideas for WM next year. Mainly Austin/Punk with Punk winning next year's Rumble, and John Cena vs The Undertaker in a LMS match or perhaps Submission match. I'm not really sure what I want to do with The Rock following WM. With such a great roster of legends available, it's a real challenge to balance them with the regular main eventers. Not to mention guys like JoMo and Ziggler, who I really want to insert into the main event scene as well. Decisions, decisions... Btw Christian may have ended Booker T's career with the spear. TBD.

  7. Excellent promo by Punk to start the show, incredible match between Punk and Ziggler, and...the rest of the show was pretty meh. Barrett's resurgence looks promising. Cena's promo and utter lack of caring for being crapped on by The Rock was terrible.

Breaking up Awesome Truth is dumb. What's dumber is having TRUTH be the one to turn face. I thought this team would be like the New Age Outlaws, an awesome heel duo at first who got so over with their antics they just organically became faces because everyone was cheering them.

I have no interest in R-Truth as a face by himself though. None at all. Punk-Miz could be a good feud on the mic, but we've seen them go in the ring before. The matches weren't great, and I'm pretty sure Punk has beat him clean anyway.

I don't really care about Kane coming back with or without the mask. The other video could be Undertaker or (long shot) Jericho. I'm not really invested in trying to figure it out.

STILL NO BRODUS CLAY what the heck

  8. I thought Survivor Series was an excellent pay-per-view.

The opening US title match was a great contest between two extremely gifted athletes in Dolph Ziggler and John Morrison. I had expected Ziggler to drop the title, but I guess WWE just doesn't think it's time yet. Ziggler's in-ring taunting of the fans for wanting Ryder was brilliant.

The divas match was actually really good. That top rope glam slam was incredible, kudos to Eve for taking that bump. Glad Beth is finally being booked strongly.

The 5v5 started off pretty badly with Ziggler eliminated quickly and Sin Cara legitimately tearing a tendon (he'll be out for 6-9 months), but I thought they did a good job in saving the match, and marked pretty hard for the finish. Barrett came through as a "born leader", pinning Orton to win the match with a man to spare (Cody Rhodes). The mid-air RKO to Hunico was a great spot as well. Hunico really got some nice air on that. It's funny, the greatest thing to come from Sin Cara's disappointing WWE run may very well be Hunico's rise to the main roster, and whatever he can accomplish with this new stable.

The world title match was boring, and I am not looking forward to the inevitable rematch. That's it.

The WWE title match wasn't a *great* match but it was good, and CM Punk had his incredible Survivor Series moment, becoming a 2-time WWE Champion and celebrating in the stands. This was the right move. ADR was a horrible and forgettable champion, while Punk never got the run he deserved, despite being perhaps the most popular man on the entire roster. I hope we don't get bogged down in too many ADR rematches, and Punk can quickly move on to someone more entertaining. ADR needs a retooling IMO.

The main event tag match was interesting. Rock was booked very strongly of course and there was a lot of Cena getting beaten up, but one thing I really liked is watching Miz square off with his idol. Despite not getting mentioned by the "commentary" team, that moment is one that really makes you realize what one can achieve with enough hard work and dedication. I was very happy for the Miz watching this main event. The post-match segment was boring, and it seemed like there was a huge missed opportunity for a Cena heel turn, or anything really to get people talking about WM28. Rock Rock Bottomed Cena. Seen it before. Does nothing to further their feud. Btw, Cena did an ATROCIOUS job selling that Rock Bottom. No surprise there though. I guess we'll see Rocky again in 5 months. Seems like a waste for him to go over at SS. No way he goes over at WM obviously, but this seemed like a missed opportunity to give Miz and Truth a huge rub. Especially for Miz, someone who is the present and future of this company.

I am looking forward to Raw. I hope we don't get too bogged down in WM28 hype, twitter talk, or god forbid, an ADR promo.

  9. Austin vs Punk can work with them both as faces. The key is for them to be themselves, which are two distinctly opposing personalities. That and their natural ability to entertain will be enough to make the match epic. We don't need Punk to do something dastardly for them to have a great WM build and match.

  10. I actually enjoyed the John Cena: This Is Your Life segment for exactly what it was. A parody of the original segment. I love Mick Foley and any time he's on my TV I'm going to be entertained. Cena of course didn't help the segment, but I thought Buchanon and Cena Sr. both performed their roles well and were entertaining. Foley trying to get them to be friends was classic Foley, and The Rock shutting Foley up was the dynamic of their relationship expressed to a T.

Randy Savage looks incredible in WWE '12, I look forward to using him a lot.

Dolph Ziggler vs John Morrison should be a good match. I'm still hoping for Morrison to debut a new finisher, because SSP just doesn't flow right within a match, and it's less believable when the opponent DOESN'T roll away, which they always seem to do now anyway. I'd say he should re-adopt the super kick, but Ziggler has been using it lately so now I'm not even sure. I could see him going back to the Twist of Fate.

Ziggler being in two matches on a PPV again is actually a pretty good move. He's adopting somewhat of a showstealer gimmick, and he's really delivering on it. The best matches of the last few months in WWE have involved Dolph Ziggler in my opinion. Plus, this can only increase his popularity as WWE hopefully gears him up for a main event push. I could see him dropping the US title at Survivor Series and moving up the card, as WWE begins to rebuild John Morrison as US champ.

I have joined in on the complaining about Cena/Rock vs Awesome Truth being built up as a squash match, but now I'm backing off of that. It's become apparent that Awesome Truth isn't supposed to be considered a threat, and the point of the match isn't whether or not Cena/Rock can defeat them. It's "Can they work as a team?", and is entirely a means to add a little fire to their WM match. I'm okay with that, but I really hope the result is Awesome Truth stealing a victory and going over, as Cena and Rock fail to communicate and try too hard to one-up each other. This accomplishes not only building up their WM feud, but also building up Awesome Truth as a main event attraction.

  11. I really hope that's not all they have in mind for Mick Foley. I find him more entertaining than John Cena or The Rock. Also, "Raw gets Rocked" but he was on screen for what, 10 minutes? And still no Brodus Clay debut? What a disappointing Raw. Bright spots were Mick Foley, CM Punk burying Cole, and the brief amount of time Jim Ross was doing commentary.
