  1. Pretty good Smackdown tonight, I certainly did not expect both Edge and Kane to lose their matches. I'm glad Otunga didn't get kicked out of Nexus because honestly I find everyone else in Nexus to be incredibly dull. Yeah Otunga's kind of a loser but at least he has somewhat of a personality.

I thought the Edge/Paul Bearer segment was hilarious, PB's acting was excellent. I could see the horror in his eyes.

One thing I'm concerned about how is besides the WWE, WHC, and Divas titles we have no idea what else will be going down at Survivor Series. No other feuds have really been set up, no other titles have had serious contention...there also hasn't been a setting up of teams either. Makes me think most of the Survivor Series card is going to be rushed feuds that began a week before.

  2. Can you blame him? Show's as tall as Kane and over 100 pounds heavier. I'd doubt Show can even leap high enough to sell a convincing choke slam lol When you're 7 feet tall, I doubt you really concern yourself with it.

Well you'd think they could have had him shove Big Show over the top rope or something. Instead he kind of just got picked up a foot off the ground and put back down and stayed down like he just got thrown off a building.

  3. By the way, how unconvincing was that choke slam on the Big Show? I'm glad Kane turned on everyone because well it was kind of awkward that the big red monster just buddy'd up with the guys who just attacked him the night before. I'm actually getting excited for Survivor Series now, seems like it might be the best ppv so far. I liked Night of Champions a lot this year and it had far less build-up and intrigue than Survivor Series does so far.

  4. That was one hell of a Smackdown. Loved every part of it except Vickie Guerrero winning that match. Just tells me this thing is gonna keep going and going like the energizer bunny.

I was hoping Rhodes would win that Triple Threat because McIntyre and MVP have already held singles titles. Ah well, maybe next time.

  5. I think you guys are ignoring the fact that high fliers like Mysterio risk their bodies like nobody else in the business. Yes he isn't the athlete he used to be but that's BECAUSE he was so phenomenal in the past, putting it all on the line in every match. Now that he's banged up you guys want to discard him with the trash. Surely he deserves better than that? Surely he deserves the title reigns and the main events considering everything he has given to the company and us fans? I think the least we can do is cheer on guys like Mysterio. Sure they aren't what they used to be athletically, but they worked hard and gave up a lot to entertain us, least we can do is clap for them 10 years later.

I'm not a Mysterio mark, just familiar with a little concept called respect (not saying you guys aren't, but you aren't showing any toward Mysterio here), so please don't call me such. If anything I'm a CM Punk mark. I play him all the time on SVR11 and am Straight Edge myself.

Btw the 619 is cool and seeing Paul Bearer get 619'd was one of the funniest things I've seen on WWE in a while.

  6. I've been playing SVR11 obsessively the past few days, I love it. I only played Mysterio's RTWM so far, all my time has been spent in Universe mode, which is a dream come true.

A few complaints I have are the lack of different moves this year, Universe's logic for determining matches (seems like there's always a PPV slot wasted on nobodies, and though I can change the match type and participants I don't think I can make it a championship match), and how easy it is to pin someone this year.

Something I did about the latter though, is I went through and gave everyone the Resiliency ability. It didn't make a huge difference but I have seen some kick-outs when I was certain I would win. Though there are still some odd pins where I haven't yet done much.

I keep wanting to pick up one of the other RTWM's but I can't stop playing my Universe matches just to see what will happen next.

This game is an enormous improvement over SVR10 in most regards, as it actually has some replay ability once you've beaten the RTWM modes. I actually think the graphics and ring moves might have taken a step back though. The big thing though is Universe, which means I will be playing this game for a lot longer than I ever did SVR10.

  7. Bragging Rights was....all right. I loved the Bryan/Ziggler match, I thought it was by far the most exciting match of the night. Unfortunately I felt things fell off rather sharply from there.

The Diva match was a joke...quite literally, the only good part was the Favre burn.

The Goldust/Dibiase match was too short, and Goldust ended up with the belt despite losing so I don't even know what the point was. Don't get me wrong though, I love Goldust and Aksana. They're the only reasons I watch NXT, and why I wish this match was a little longer.

Undertaker Vs Kane...I am so tired of this feud. They're the only wrestlers who bring fantasy to pro wrestling anymore and it just sticks out like a sore thumb. Also, they don't really wrestle. This match was Undertaker punching Kane through the stands for ten minutes, chokeslamming him a couple of times and then...getting ambushed by the Nexus and buried alive. Also, look at who got the first serious blow in. That's right, Heath Slater. Freakin' Heath Slater buried Undertaker alive. I didn't like this match, didn't like Nexus getting involved, and didn't like that Paul Bearer wasn't more involved. Seriously, Paul Bearer has been the best part of this feud, he is hilarious. He doesn't even have to say anything, just his facial expressions. I just hope this leads to Kane wrestling someone else for a change, and a lot less satanism in my wrestling.

As for Cena and Otunga becoming the new tag champs (only to hand it over to Gabriel/SLATER ugh)...no opinion. Rhodes and McIntyre obviously weren't going to be a long term thing anyway. McIntyre deserves to be a solo wrestler.

I liked the team match, it wasn't phenomenal and some parts were kind of strange (Mysterio leaves but then comes back? Pretty sure if you leave the arena during a one-on-one match YOU LOSE), but it wasn't bad either. Mysterio botching was funny, and credit to the commentators for keeping it fluid. I didn't really mind that Miz lost to Edge and Mysterio, Edge deserved the revenge and Miz is still the MITB winner. I'm looking forward to him cashing in.

The main event was okay...I thought it was a good match up until the hokey with the ref getting knocked out and Nexus jumping in. Seriously, the guys operating the bell can't make a DQ call? Hell, KNOCKING OUT THE REF should disqualify you, but I digress. I'm glad Orton's still champion, but honestly I would have preferred Barret winning and Nexus becoming a powerhouse than this "Ohh he won by DQ so we're going to have another month of BS and the SAME event at yet another PPV". I'd be pissed if I paid for this PPV, all it did was set up the next one. Nothing got resolved.

I don't mean to sound pessimistic, I love the WWE, I just expected better after the last two PPVs were quite excellent I thought.

    TNA is awful.

  8. That was the worst Impact I've ever seen, which is remarkable because I thought the Impact where Tommy Dreamer complimented each member of Fortune for half an hour was the worst Impact I've ever seen.

I'm not going to make a long-winded post about TNA again, but I can't see where they're going with this. Fortune joining up with Immortal means 80% of the roster is in one stable. This is idiotic.

Smackdown last night was pretty good and featured some great matches. A lot of people are upset over how the Kaval/Show/Tyler Reks thing played out though. I wasn't thrilled about it because I think Kaval is far more talented and versatile than Reks, and thought it was stupid for him to prove himself by surviving with the Big Show (even if he let him) only to lose his spot immediately after. Maybe we haven't seen the last of Kaval before Bragging Rights though. There is still the matter of the 7th Raw spot...

By the way, anyone notice how both the US and IC champions lost their matches? I wonder if there's something in store for them.

Finally, this Kane/Undertaker feud continues to be downright silly. Once again we see Undertaker make Kane flee, and once again they'll be fighting at a PPV. I was yawning all throughout that promo. My only hope with the Buried Alive match is that we can get back to Smackdown having main events, and maybe Kane or the Undertaker (assuming one of them is going to be out of action for a while) can get back to ya know, wrestling.

  9. TNA is awful because it throws it's young guys under the bus to make washed up 50 year old wrestlers look like they've still got it (they do not, except perhaps Sabu). Their story lines also have zero consistency. Just look at the "They" storyline. Trace it back. It makes zero sense. They didn't know who "They" were until a week before BFG and it shows.

Are their young guys that talented? People say they are, people say they might be better than WWE's young guys. How can anybody say that when TNA DOESN'T LET THEM WRESTLE. It seems like when it comes to TNA fans there's two camps. The guys who want to relive the glory days of WCW and ECW and look past the wrinkles and hip surgeries in their heroes, and then the guys who are too cool to like WWE so they talk about how if only TNA had better booking it would be superior to WWE.

What is this based on? Because it shows blood, allows cursing, and has chicks making out? Is that really "good wrestling"? I don't think any of that has a thing to do with wrestling... And don't try and bring up the Attitude Era because the antics during the AE augmented the wrestling, it didn't replace it entirely.

The only talent I saw at BFG was the Motor City Machine Guns and Generation Me (though their gimmick is awful and I want to punch Gen Me in the face repeatedly every time they show up on screen).

The worst part of BFG for me was the Sting/Nash/Pope Vs Samoa Joe match. What was cool about a handi-cap match where Sting and Nash have the advantage? These guys are supposed to be wrestling legends and yet they get a man advantage, which turns into a 3-on-1, and we're supposed to think they're cool? Fact: There is nothing cool about ganging up on people. That's why the Nexus isn't cool. That's why gangs IRL aren't cool. That's why this match wasn't cool. Forget the fact that Jarret abandoning Joe made zero sense and contributed nothing to the plot, it just wasn't a good match and it had an awful finish. You'd think once Jarret abandoned Joe then the conspiracy theorists would be like "See what we mean? Join up with us", but instead they proceed to kick Joe's face in. What? Why? Then there is of course the fact that TNA is throwing yet another young, allegedly talented (no evidence for this) wrestler under the bus for their 50 year old relics who don't even wrestle anymore, they just brawl.

I've yet to see a coherent, intelligent argument on why TNA is even worth watching. For me, I watch it because it is incredible how bad it can get, and I can share a lot of laughs with my wrestling fan friends on how much crap they try to stuff in the pipes, and on how completely delusional people continue to try and defend the show.

  10. I can't see Cena being able to pull off a heel turn. Even when he was slamming his tag team partner into the steel steps the crowd was yelling for him to do it again. The fans just love him too much for him to be an actual heel.

Also, I don't see why everyone thinks Cena is being painted as an infallible super hero. I'm not the guy's biggest fan, but when's the last time he really beat anybody? He got tabled by Orton a few weeks ago, lost in the 6-pack challenge, got pinned by Edge (but then the GM extended the match because the referee failed to notice Cena's leg, but blamed Edge of course), and then lost to Barret. Not to mention before then when he was getting beat by Sheamus. If anyone's a superhero lately I'd say it's Orton. Even before he became WWE champion for the umpteenth time he was RKO'ing guys left and right and not getting beat by anybody.

I don't really mind too much if one wrestler is on a roll, that's how it's always been. There's always been one guy who's on a hot streak, and then eventually he gets toppled and we have a new guy on top. It seems different with Cena though where people just don't like him - citing his "average" wrestling ability. I think it's more likely because he gets the whole "PG Era" thing pinned on him.

All I know is that it could be worse. It could be TNA. :34853_shakehead:

  11. I see the Nexus splintering soon. Barret pushed a reluctant Gabriel into risking his health last week, pretty much abandoned Tarver this week. Plus we've got Otunga going behind his back and trying to assume a leadership role for himself. I think Barret's ambitions are going to really strain the Nexus as the members start to realize Barret is only out for himself. Should be an interesting storyline.

Can't believe I just used the word "interesting" to describe anything involving the Nexus.

  12. I actually somewhat like Sheamus and Barrett. Right now, I'd much rather they be champion over the revolving door of Orton (I say that as an Orton fan) and Cena. Although I wouldn't mind another Edge or Jericho championship.

I would have preferred Morrison beat Sheamus, sneak into the 6-pack, and become champion myself.

Sheamus...I don't know he's just so cocky and acts like a badass when he hasn't accomplished anything without interference. Barret is just a joke. He leads a team of wrestlers into the ring to ambush two guys who are already beat down, and they all end up through tables. Really?

Neither of those guys deserve it IMO. At least Cena/Orton/Edge/Jericho are all worthy of it, even if it's been overdone.

  13. Last night's Raw was pretty amazing. I recorded it and watched it after the Ravens game. If you plan to watch it but haven't yet,

    stop reading here.

The Miz trash talking Ochocinco was hilarious, I loved it. Though Miz came off pretty lame in his actual match against Daniel Bryan, and I'm glad Bryan humiliated him like that.

Edge's antics were amusing as always, including trying to pick up John Henry, but for comedy I have to give the award to Goldust for brass knuckling Regal in the Trading Places match.

The Sheamus/Morrison match proved once again that Sheamus doesn't deserve the title, always relying on help like a glorified Nexus wrestler. Morrison was awesome though, too bad what happened.

The final was great though, I always love watching Nexus and Sheamus get owned, and was blown away by Orton's counter RKO while Cena was in the process of body slamming him into the table. Also, Orton throwing both Jericho and Edge through the same table was hilarious.

I really hope neither Sheamus or Barret are the champs after Night of Champions, I can't stand either of them and both always rely on outside assistance to win.
