Cena can't be a heel, that'd require the fans not cheering for him.
Seriously, another PPV that ends with an entirely too long Cena post-victory scene or...whatever that thing at Survivor Series was.
Pretty lame finish. Totally predictable.
I don't know...you know there's been some nights where Cole or Tazz's commentary has been so bad, that they've detracted from the quality of a match. They've been rarer over the past few years, but it's entirely possible. Remember Mike Adamle's run???
Yes, but I don't think I'm ever going to feel that way if CM Punk is out commentating, even if he doesn't do it exactly right. He's inherently entertaining.
PS this match is kind of lame.
If that's the case then WWE is seriously overestimating how much people care about commentary. I'd rather CM Punk out the whole time because he's entertaining. Matt Striker is never entertaining.
Wow CM Punk came out. Wonder what's going to happen.
WHC was all right I wasn't that into it, I knew who was going to win, nothing AMAZING really happened like in the Morrison match.
I really hope Cena doesn't come out and win here.
Oh yeah! Morrison wins! Incredible match, amazing finish.
Marking out right now.
Am I the only one who offered predictions? Come on guys, let's put your wrestling knowledge to the test. If we're wrong we can just blame a poor creative staff on the WWE's part.
TLC in a couple hours, who's going to be watching live?
The race card gets played a lot regarding WWE champions. Which black men in particular in the last 10 years do you feel should have become WWE champion that didn't?
I would rather wrestlers be given titles based on their talents than their race.
The WWE network is something I've been looking forward to, it just seems like there's so much they could do with it. Classic matches, re-living old feuds, showing old *good* PPVs, etc. on top of having more weekly WWE shows.
Maybe this week is a gauging opportunity for them, to see how high their ratings are with a constant stream of WWE programming from one day to the next.
The winner of the 2011 Royal Rumble will be the man who landed the first blow which changed the momentum of a match and sent the Undertaker 6 feet under, possibly ending a historical 20 year career. Heath Slater. ![]()
Nah, I'm hoping Big Zeke or maybe Dolph Ziggler (IF he's no longer IC champion). John Morrison if he isn't in a WWE title match at Royal Rumble, which would be very upsetting, but this would make up for it.
So I guess we've officially entered WWE week? Tribute to the Troops tonight, then TLC, Then Raw, then Smackdown on Tuesday, and then a 2 hour edition of Tribute to the Troops on Wednesday...oh boy.
Smackdown was pretty good. I'm glad they consolidated the Kane/Edge Rey/Alberto matches into one, that's what I was hoping for from the start.
TLC predictions...
Kofi wins IC title.
Morrison wins the #1 contender match.
Barret beats Cena very very dirtily (this is the only way I can see Barret and Nexus remaining relevant).
Miz retains.
Edge wins the WHC.
I'm hoping we start to see Ted Dibiase make a serious rival for Daniel Bryan, and maybe if Kofi becomes IC champ then Cody Rhodes can start up a feud with him.
For the WWE title I'm wanting Morrison/Miz obviously, and for the WHC I'd like to see Swagger get back into the picture, and maybe McIntyre getting involved as well. These guys are being wasted right now. Also with Ezekiel moving back to Smackdown maybe he could get into the WHC picture.
I really can't see TLC going any other way than Morrison winning and Miz retaining. Sheamus/Miz feud would just be bad, not to mention there's nobody to root for. Sheamus/Orton feud's been done already. Morrison/Miz feud is what I want but it seems too obvious, makes me wonder if we're in for a twist.
Bleh, McIntyre bores me to tears.
Pretty good Raw last night actually, it had some good moments nothing too terrible. Morrison Vs Sheamus at the TLC to determine the #1 contender for the WWE title. Looks like we might be getting our Morrison/Miz title feud. ![]()
The IC title match is now a triple threat ladder match with Dolph, Kofi, and Swagger. I think Kofi might win it...Swagger is still feuding with Edge kind of so it'd be weird for him to be IC champ and feuding with a WHC contender, or the WHC himself. I'm looking forward to this one actually.
Barret re-hired Cena, then ordered Nexus to kick his *** and they did. Then Barret set up an Otunga/Cena match, and had the Nexus abandon Otunga like Nexus had them do to Barret last week. Aside from the absurdity of Cena being back so soon I actually like that his happened, we've seen Barret and Otunga fighting for power over the Nexus and it looks like Barret is back in control, I'm interested in seeing where this leaves Otunga next week.
One thing I thought was stupid was how John Cena won the Superstar of the Year award. When the so-called "voting" was being done he wasn't even a WWE Superstar, he shouldn't have even been in the running surely. I get that they put it in place for him to have a reason to come out, but still, if you listened to the fans they went way wilder for Orton's name than Cena's. Oh well not like these Slammy awards mean a damn thing.
I know I certainly won't be watching RAW except between commercial breaks of MNF, so I don't have any expectations of tonight's show.
I've got a DVR I plan to watch Raw after the game. ![]()
I went into Legends Raw thinking "this will probably be meh" and it was great, I went into KOTR thinking "This should be pretty good" and it was awful.
I'm going into Slammy Raw thinking "meh" again...will they surprise me yet again? Hope so.
Why does the Titans & NFL need to trademark it?
They aren't trying to trademark it, they're trying to prevent it from being trademarked.
Why does the WWE need to trademark the TitanTron?
John, what are you doing? John, my diet soda...
CM Punk is awesome on the commentary and now I have mixed feelings about him returning to wrestling.
Nah of course I can't wait for his return but still, I think he's been great.
So NXT wasn't too bad. I really like Derrick Bateman I think he's going to ride the Daniel Bryan train to the win this season. The Bryan/rookie vs Del Rio/rookie match was good too, I'm looking forward to seeing guys like Bryan, Del Rio, and Ziggler get in the ring this season. That alone is worth tuning in. I just hope we see more wrestling or wrestling-related activities (I liked the ladder test) and less goofy BS like season 3.
Lukewarm is being generous, there is no buildup to ppv events.
Oh I don't know I thought NoC, HIAC, and BR had pretty all right build up.
Smackdown wasn't anything special tonight. Building lukewarm feuds for the ppv as I figured.
The tag match was all right. Kofi/Swagger was decent, kind of disappointed we're going to see Kofi Vs Ziggler for the IC title again seems like I've seen that match twenty times this year.
The Kane/Edge feud has gotten boring. It's the same thing every episode, and the same ending every night, Edge drives off with Paul Bearer.
I feel like this feud should have ended at Survivor Series, or at least CHANGED somewhat. Also, winner decides the stipulation, Edge wins and says "It'll be a TLC match". Really? I thought it was already going to be a TLC match and they were fighting to determine a STIPULATION, not a MATCH TYPE. I expected him to say "If I win you don't get a rematch" or if Kane won to say "You give me back Paul Bearer" (not that I expected Kane to win of course). When Barret and Cena had their HIAC match the STIPULATION was Cena wins Nexus disbands, Barret wins Cena joines Nexus. That was the STIPULATION, the match type was just a normal match. I wish WWE were a little more clear with their terminology.
I don't think TLC will be a very good PPV. Still going to watch it because it's "free" though.
Well PG HIAC matches are pretty lame. If WWE is staying PG then I agree HIACs need to go. What is the point of the cage, the steps, the weapons under the ring, when you can't really use any of it convincingly? Reminds me of when Sheamus got onto the stairs and Irish Cursed Orton onto his leg...on the steps...how did that increase the damage? It was stupid. The Taker/Kane match was stupid too. So as far the PG era goes, I don't care if we ever see a HIAC again. Same goes for TLC matches. What's the point of all the weapons if it isn't going to be appear that people are actually getting messed up?
I am so glad they got rid of the Juan Cena gimmick. Not crazy about him assaulting members of the Nexus as a FAN but it's not as stupid as JUAN Cena.
Oh don't worry if my math is correct MVP should land in TNA around March 2011. I do think the WWE similar to Kennedy dropped the ball on MVP.
Bleacher Report links to his official twitter account so I'm not sure it matters. I have no account on that site.
Gotta disagree in a big way here. Kennedy was not a case of WWE dropping the ball. Kennedy is a dangerous wrestler, not only to himself (he gets injured often) but to others. Just open up his wiki page and do a search for the word "injured". Comes up way too often for someone who hasn't been around that long. Also his ring skills are nothing special while I personally find his promos vastly overrated. I think he's perfect on TNA as there are very low expectations there.
Also while I like MVP I don't think he's ever had the potential to be an irreplaceable talent the likes of an Orton or an Edge. He's pretty over with the fans but that isn't really enough to pole vault into the main event.

Maybe when the WWE network launches Vince will be willing to take bigger risks since he'll have more shows per week to alter the course of things when they aren't panning out.
