  1. I'd rather have that person in than Khali tbh. At least he's a good wrestler.
  2. I can't blame him, Eve looked amazing last night.
  3. Vince made Austin? Pretty sure Austin worked the territories and WCW for several years, developed his loose cannon persona in ECW, and then when he went to WWF Vince stuck him with a crappy gimmick. Only when Austin broke free from that gimmick and was allowed to be himself did he become a mega star, save the WWF, propel wrestling to new heights, etc. Vince did not make Austin. Austin saved Vince's company.
  4. Didn't stop them from having a very poor finish to their PPV.
  5. I've got no interest in Taker/HHH as a storyline or a match. We've seen it. There's nothing left to do. It's just going to be promos about respect and the streak and blah blah blah blah. Jericho/Punk should be good. I'm sticking with my prediction of Jericho winning the title at EC and Punk winning it back at WM. I wonder what kind of chemistry two of the best mic workers of all time will have when they finally go head to head? Can't wait to find out. That Bryan/Punk match was great, and was really symbollic of how these two journeymen have reached the top of this business together. It's funny to think that 8 months ago CM Punk was jobbing to Orton and Rey Mysterio and Daniel Bryan was firmly in the midcard. Our world champions were John Cena and Randy Orton. Now look at the WWE. Who's to say what's best for the company but one thing is for sure, nobody expected this 8 months ago. The Cena/Kane segment dissolved all interest I had in the storyline. They made Kane look like a coward and Cena was all smiles and jokes once again. With so little time before WM I can't see this feud not ending in Cena winning clean at EC and getting ready for The Rock for WM.
  6. Good choices. Cena and Kane will likely conclude their feud in a singles match at EC then. This means Cena WON'T be winning an Elimination Chamber match 3 years in a row, thank god. This would also seem to indicate Jericho will indeed be involved in the WWE title picture for mania, likely pushing him out of possible feud with Undertaker. I'd have Jericho win the match and then have Punk beat him for the title at WM. That gives Punk one of those rare and special "Winning the title at WM" moments.
  7. Dustin Rhodes? Goldust or no thanks please. MITB for WM would be a good idea with all the talent that is likely to be left off the card right now. Ziggler, Barrett, Miz, Truth, etc. These guys should be on the card but I can't justify them being in any singles matches based on current programs.
  8. There were a few good moments but overall the PPV was mediocre. Highlights for me were Punk/Ziggler, Beth Phoenix's "get out of my ring" attitude and the way she capped off that divas match, ROAD DOGG, and Sheamus winning. A lot of people in the IWC seem to be upset Jericho didn't win but I'm not one of them. Jericho didn't need to win, and I'm glad WWE went with someone who's been working hard all year instead of a guy that just came back a month ago after a year and a half off. For WM I would like to see Sheamus vs Bryan vs Orton. I think it'd be a stellar match. Barrett as a fourth is a possibility. I don't think we need a 1v1 world title match considering all of the other singles match ups we're going to have. Punk/Jericho (or HHH), Taker/HHH (or Jericho), Cena/Rock, Foley/???. We should get a lot of questions answered tomorrow night on Raw, with HHH's return and presumably Sheamus' official announcement on which title he will challenge for.
  9. I don't think people care to see Johnny Ace wrestle the way they did to see McMahon get his butt kicked. On top of the fact seeing "suits" wrestle has been done to death, Johnny Ace just isn't nearly the character that Vince McMahon was. He's nowhere near his level, or Shane's, or Steph's for that matter. I think Johnny needs to be replaced for this angle to have any long-term life to it. I think HHH vs. Punk for WM is the intelligent scenario for WWE to build CM Punk as a top star. HHH as the heel authority figure but also a great wrestler who is viewed as at the top of the heap ability wise. Jericho vs. Punk would be a great match too but I don't think a victory over Jericho does anything for Punk. It'd be an extremely entertaining feud and match, but Jericho isn't at HHH's level. Jericho has put so many people over throughout his career that he can't "make" someone the way a HHH could, because he so rarely puts anyone over. A victory over HHH at Wrestlemania could cement Punk at a Cena level, while a victory over Jericho would keep Punk at about a Randy Orton level, which is pretty much where he is right now. As for Jericho I'm starting to agree with people that say Jericho should be Taker's opponent. It's a fresh match for the streak and it'd be a great one obviously.
  10. Cena looks like he's playing with a baby.
  11. Hart vs HBK DVD had me hooked from start to finish. '97 was my favorite year in wrestling and I can't get enough of rehashing all that Kliq/Hart Foundation/Montreal Screwjob business. Plus the greatest of all time Steve Austin was on his rise to fame. Though a fair amount of the DVD is spent talking about the late 80s and early 90s WWF, Hart and HBK making their way in the tag team scene, the challenge of proving that smaller guys could be big stars and become world champions. It's a great DVD for any wrestling fan IMO.
  12. Real men are secure enough with their masculinity to wear yellow polka dots.
  13. Well the ratings certainly agree with the contention WWE has been on a steady decline over the last 9 years or so.
  14. Definitely a legit suspension and not part of any kind of angle. Really sucks for WWE's already anemic tag team division. Plus Kofi Kingston will be directionless for another 2 months. Maybe he can sneak into the WWE title Elimination Chamber match. Let's see: Punk Cena Miz Truth Ziggler Jericho Kane Kofi Eight guys who "could" be in it. I see either Barrett or Sheamus from Smackdown winning the RR so we can forget about disqualifying anyone from this list on the notion they'd win the Rumble. I'm not sure if I see Jericho getting serious in time for EC or not. It's very hard to say. Kane also is "iffy" as we don't know if he will have title aspirations by then. I think the most likely scenario is Kofi will be left out period though, but with Kane and Jericho as question marks Kofi could very well find his way into it.
  15. I think I just had a breakthrough regarding Chris Jericho's new angle. He's acting like the top guys in WCW, old timers past their prime that hogged the spotlight and fed their own egos at the expense of young talent and ultimately the fans. Obviously the way he's playing it is way exaggerated but I think that is the point. This would make a lot of sense at Jericho was one of those young talents who wasn't allowed to break through to the main event in WCW as were many of his friends. He has a lot of personal history and inspiration behind this "gimmick" if that is indeed the case.
  16. Dirt sheets mostly just speculate, throw a lot of realistic ideas to the wall, people forget about all the ones that don't stick and never remember all the stories that ended up having no basis.
  17. Minor title change at house shows is a move designed to increase house show attendance. Can see Air Boom winning the titles back at the Rumble.
  18. Good luck, don't forget about us if you get the job.
  19. Brodus has the charisma and mic skills to play a monster heel differently than a Mark Henry.
  20. Well that episode of Raw was pretty terrible from top to bottom. They ruined Brodus Clay.
  21. I don't think RVD should return to WWE in any capacity. He has nothing to offer and his stance on recreational drug use is well documented.
  22. It would be very different. Wrestling didn't have no-compete clauses when Luger did it, and Rick Rude was under a pay-per-appearance/good faith agreement, not a written contract. Lesnar is under contract to the UFC. I'm not sure if UFC has a no-complete clause or if it applies to wrestling, but the It Begins promos have been running for a month so obviously Lesnar couldn't have signed with WWE for a return on 1/2/12 while still under contract with UFC. It's not Lesnar. There is 0% chance. No intelligent argument exists that says Lesnar could be the It Begins guy. Anyway, I'd rather have Overeem in WWE than Lesnar! That dude's a BEAST. Showed a lot of swag too.
  23. I watched the fight and was really impressed by Alistair Overeem's poise and killer instinct. Lesnar was shaken early and never really had a hand in the fight. He was completely dominated. I don't see Lesnar having an extended run with WWE ever again. A one-off here or there perhaps, but I think it's unlikely it'd happen anytime soon. Being a full-time WWE wrestler is a physically demanding gig, and I'm not sure Lesnar could handle it with his medical issues.
  24. AJ Styles actually has been feuding for the world title, but he failed in each of his attempts and now Roode/Hardy is the current feud.
  25. Looks like the heart stopping Sheamus-Jinder Mahal feud will have to be put on hold as Sheamus will likely be thrust into a storyline with Barrett to make up for Orton's absence.
