  1. Wow that was an awesome Smackdown. CM Punk and Rey to start it off, Barret winning the Intercontinental championship, and then Christian and ADR putting on an incredible match that had me jumping out of my seat on more than one occasion. I thought they were going to go the "ADR makes Christian tap out right in front of a helpless Edge" route, giving Christian a grievance against Edge. But instead Christian wins clean and keeps Edge from being banned from WM. Stupid angle that doesn't make sense IMO (if Edge can get out of having to defend his title AND he gets to beat up ADR why wouldn't he?) but the match itself was awesome.
  2. TNA! TNA! TNA!
  3. Wow, Miz was awesome on Conan. Had the entire audience chanting ridiculous things and made Conan look funny.
  4. I actually enjoyed that Raw even though I knew from the second we had a backstage interview with Randy Orton talking about his family that CM Punk was going to threaten Orton with his family. That was very obvious. I really liked the Ring Rope DDT reversed into a 619 reversed back into a ring rope DDT spot though. I was hoping Miz would be debuting a new belt also. Okay he turned the W upside down, but it's still blinged out and say Champ on it. It is very much a John Cena belt, Miz. No History being re-written there. Btw in a mixed tag match since when can superstars pin divas and vice versa? There's supposed to be no physical contact between the two. I am calling right now that the Morrison/Ziggler/bunchofwomen match at Wrestlemania ends with Morrison hitting the Starship Pain on Ziggler, and then tagging in Snooki to pin him. Really bored by the Cole/Lawler segments. The sooner this feud is over the better.
  5. I stand by my stance that retiring HHH as a wrestler has zero benefit. It just restricts him from ever being able to step in the ring again as a part of any kind of angle or feud, unless they break the stipulation which then begs the question when HBK will break his and so on.
  6. That's true. The problem with adding more people to the match to team with Show/Kane is then they'd most likely win, and it wouldn't put anyone over. I'd rather see Kane and Show Vs The Corre, with maybe Barret or Ezekiel going over, but then keeping Kane and Show strong, perhaps having them clear the ring afterward. As a wannabe booker I'd have Slater/Gabriel tossed around like rag dolls, Barret and Ezekiel matching Kane and Show somewhat, with Gabriel and Slater then using the man advantage to lead either Show or Kane into a surprise Wasteland/Book of Ezekiel, followed by a pinfall. Then either Kane or Show(whoever didn't get pinned) hits the winning member with a chokeslam, gets swarmed by the rest of the Corre, and then his partner recovering and saving him from the ensuing beatdown, with Kane and Show then clearing the ring. Something like that. Corre goes over, Show/Kane kept strong, and their relationship as a team solidified.
  7. Eh come on Franny, Big Show and Kane aren't any more random faces than Edge and Christian are. Former tag champs here, they used to dominate. They make a great team but are better as heels. I hope this is a long term partnership, it'd actually make Big Show and Kane interesting again to see them back together as a big dominant heel team. That was a GREAT Smackdown. Plenty of matches, exciting angles, limited recap. This is what I want on Friday nights. Mysterio/Dibiase was good, though I don't know why Ted was on Smackdown. The evolution of Cody Rhodes is going well, actually one of my favorite feuds at the moment. The Corre is actually an interesting stable right now, and is being booked very well. Yeah they have the numbers advantage but they're going up against two behemoths, so it's realistic for them to lose. Christian/Del Rio was great, I was surprised Christian won. I though this would be Del Rio going over and putting an end to the talk of Christian being in the WHC match. Now I just don't know.
  8. Sadly yes. Pretty sure Impact is SpikeTV's top rated show. I also think we haven't seen the end of Jeff Hardy in TNA, or as TNA champion. This is a company that does not learn from it's mistakes. I imagine backstage it's a lot like WCW was, overblown egos and people too afraid to clash with them to do what is best for the company. Jeff Hardy's court case was granted another continuance. It would have been great for TNA if the justice system took the decision out of their hands, but alas the story continues.
  9. If you like the barbie doll look I guess. I'm more of a Melina fan. Layla too.
  10. I'm not a Jersey Shore fan but I was actually entertained. She did a good job and didn't act obnoxious or anything, and actually came off very normal and cool in comparison to Vickie and LayCool who are over the top as they're supposed to be. The original plans were Kelly Kelly instead of Snooki. So the question to ask yourself is: Would you have preferred Kelly Kelly? Not me. I'm fine with Snooki. Not like it's going to be a long match or anything. I imagine Morrison and Ziggler will have a nice go-round and then Trish will get double-teamed by LayCool, Vickie will interfere, Snooki will take out Vickie and she might get tagged in to pin an already beaten LayCool. Whole thing should take about as long as that bathroom break you take during a normal Divas match.
  11. I thought that was an excellent Raw. A bit promo heavy but it was entertaining.
  12. This is the guy they modeled their World title belt after.
  13. The funny thing about all this is...we just saw Sting Vs Jeff Hardy the Thursday before. The match was a clean win by Sting. Why even have the match at the PPV? Should have been Sting Vs Anderson Vs Hardy or RVD or a 4-way or something. Anything but the match we *just saw*. Yeah I only watched the Ultimate X match and the tag match. Both were great and there was no BS involved. Jeff Hardy's situation is hilarious. The fact that TNA will likely do nothing to punish him is even more hilarious. And sad.
  14. First of all why does Rey need to look weak? He's earned the right to be booked strong at this stage in his career. Secondly Cody Rhodes is getting a match at Wrestlemania, yes clearly this is an ill omen for his career.
  15. Rey denied the rumors that he was asking for his release. They aren't true. Not worth discussing. Rey lost the last two feuds he has been in. His feud with Kane which saw him lose the WHC title, and his feud with Del Rio which ended with Del Rio winning a 2 of 3 falls match and then going on to win the Rumble while Rey is in a lower card feud with Rhodes, which will likely end with Rey winning but putting Rhodes over. Also worth noting Rey picked Rhodes specifically to feud with. Rey is no Hulk Hogan backstage, and he certainly isn't booked like a Super Cena.
  16. So much recap...hopefully after Wrestlemania we won't have to see every segment on Raw replayed on Smackdown taking up a good 1/4 of the show or so. HHH's promo was meh. More of the same. They aren't going to mention their previous WM match which makes me wonder if this one is going to be ignored someday too. Don't see why I should care if they don't. Cody Rhodes is really the best thing going on Smackdown right now. He's taking the ball and running with it on the mic and squashed JTG in his dress clothes. I think 2011 will be a good year for him. Mysterio/McIntyre was a good match showing Mysterio still has it despite the nay-sayers, but I wonder if McIntyre is going to fade away and we're supposed to forget the whole Kelly Kelly angle. I'm actually okay with that as it was stupid, but I do like McIntyre so I hope he gets another angle soon if that is the case. Christian and Edge reuniting was awesome, I wonder if they'll make a run after WM in the tag division. There isn't really anyone who could realistically oppose them... Glad Brodus Clay has gotten so much exposure, he's a great talent and is being booked very strongly for a guy who doesn't have a contract (but apparently Teddy Long can put him in matches?).
  17. AJ is still in FCW. Season 4 was actually pretty good and worth a watch on Hulu/Youtube. Bateman and Brodus were excellent personalities, the pros were entertaining (Ziggler and Del Rio)...I looked forward to NXT during that season.
  18. So following a pretty good season of NXT the WWE has decided to have a blatantly awful season. Former NXT guys who got eliminated...Darren Young who was doing matches on Superstars is now an NXT rookie again...Hornswoggle as a pro. I'm not watching this crap. And I sat through NXT season 3 so my tolerance for awful is pretty high.
  19. Nah, just forum talk.
  20. Apparently the reason they did a close-up on the Miz's face is because a fan jumped the barricade and got into the ring.
  21. Stone Cold Steve Austin is the best. Not enough wrestling tonight. Cena's rap was awful. Talk about combining two of my least favorite things. The Miz is awesome.
  22. Really excited to see Stone Cold back. Probably my favorite wrestler of all time. Stone Cold winning over the fans by being such a badass (even though he was supposed to be a heel!) is what started the attitude era and changed the entire game, redefined faces and heels, and brought pro wrestling to it's most entertaining peak. Hope he does more than just plugs Tough Enough. I'm already going to watch Tough Enough to see Stone Cold, I want to see him hit someone with a stunner tonight! Preferably John Cena but I doubt it. Zack Ryder is hilarious. Far more entertaining than Santino and Cena (who isn't supposed to be a comedy character but comes off as one thus turning the Raw main event scene into a joke...).
  23. Kind of wish we had a main event match tonight instead of the same old thing. Looking forward to Christian returning next week. Maybe after WM if Edge drops the title to Del Rio we can have a Christian & Edge Vs Corre feud. I was expecting Undertaker to confront Kane tonight, I guess we're dropping that storyline for now...or at least awkwardly delaying it. They were in the ring ten minutes apart, come on...they must have passed each other in a hallway or something. Way too much Raw Rewind. NXT and Superstars are usually 50% Raw Rewind, and now lately it seems like Smackdown is becoming more and more Raw Rewind...
  24. See, this is funny to me for one reason. Hulk Hogan is willing to spoil WWE storylines when his wrestling fed tapes several shows at once and can easily be spoiled weeks in advance. The only difference is nobody watches TNA or gives a damn about them. Apparently Hogan knows this. Not that I really care about the Cole/Lawler feud either way. I'm just hoping it leads to Lawler retiring.
  25. This feud seems personal between these two guys. Good stuff. Wonder how much of it is sincere.
