  1. I wonder how many they had in stock in the first place.
  2. Big Show and Kane have been tag team champions in the past. The Usos are a joke, and will probably be jobless in a week.
  3. Oh good now I get to chant Boring twice a week.
  4. Ohhh how I miss this.
  5. Oh boy. Shane is actually Vince's son. The Invasion storyline was pretty disappointing as they didn't really bring in any big WCW names (no Sting, Goldberg, etc.), WWF wrestlers always came out on top, and by the end of the feud the WCW team featured mainly WWF wrestlers. It was not near as good as what it could have been.
  6. Thought Lethal was pretty good in the ring but then they had that Jersey Shore feud going and I just fast forwarded throughout that feud.
  7. I think people would be surprised what's acceptable under a PG (or even G) rating. WWE isn't really pushing any boundaries here, they just aren't be as conservative as they were.
  8. Yeah, way too early. That match has the potential to be legendary but having it now would be a disaster. Sin Cara needs to fix his mistakes and get used to the WWE style. He also needs to beat up on some heels to get the crowd fully behind him before we could have a truly great face vs face match. That kind of match would also require a program to build it up and right now Mysterio is involved with Cody Rhodes and getting him over, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him do the same with McIntyre later on. They really put on a good match last week.
  9. That was far from a horrible Raw and it actually did have quite a bit of in-ring action by Raw standards. Counting the matches: Morrison/Truth, Evan/Ziggler, Cena and Sin Cara Vs Miz/Riley, the divas match, Sheamus/Santino, and then Orton/Punk. That's 6 matches. Not bad at all for Raw. Sin Cara's botch at the end was 100% his fault. The guy was laying there, nothing to blame but Sin Cara on that botch. He's exciting to watch but that fast-paced style does lead to mistimes and I imagine that's a big part of why we don't see it too often in the WWE. It's likely he's going to be toned down - Vince is too much of a perfectionist to let it continue. The opening promo was a little awkward, but I thought Morrison's mic-work was pretty good. I have never enjoyed R-Truth on the mic though, and I think he showed why he won't actually be in the main event with the quality of that promo. He just doesn't have it. Morrison does. That's why he's in the main event. That whole Cole segment was just awful. Aside from more of the same, it's just stupid. He's an announcer. Nobody bought a ticket to see him, nobody tuned in to see him. Randy Orton is being booked like Hulk Hogan. His matches all go the same, he's only got a handful of moves he does, and in the end he always comes out on top making his opponents look silly. CM Punk was great in that match though, and Mason Ryan was doing some good acting during that whole "I'm gonna punt him" thing. They should have gone through with it instead of Punk being made a fool of again. He already lost the match.
  10. Eh? Morrison doesn't really interrupt anyone or rely on cheap pops. R-Truth has been fed to The Miz and ADR several times. His "What's Up?" shtick is designed for cheap pops. Morrison gets pops just when he's coming out for a normal match. I didn't say Morrison is a draw (yet), I just don't think R-Truth is more popular than he is by a long shot. That said, Morrison isn't just high spots, that is a false characterization made by Morrison bashers. Yes he does pull off some great spots, but his in-ring work in general is also quite good. He's also proven in the past he can be good on the mic, he just needs more opportunities like the one he got on Raw last week, where he did fine on the mic. Let's see, the opening match of 2011 was Morrison Vs Miz in an awesome WWE title match, Morrison was easily the bright spot of the match. The match was also booked so that Alex Riley had to help Miz out a lot. So he can put on great matches. Everyone agrees he can pull off the great spots - Starship Pain off the turnbuckle to the outside, the Royal Rumble barricade spot, hanging from the ceiling in the EC. He can show aggression like when he attacked CM Punk after being sprayed in the eyes. He's obviously got the look of a star. What else is there that's needed? Just opportunity. Every time he's been given the spotlight he has shined. The fact of the matter is the WWE needs to stop this lame Announcer Vs Announcer feud and use that time to give the actual talent some TV time. Build up guys like Morrison and Ziggler. This Michael Cole/Jerry Lawler feud is costing us a feud between actual wrestlers...err, sports entertainers... For the draft, I can see Daniel Bryan being traded to Smackdown. They need the midcard faces and he's not doing anything on Raw at the moment.
  11. I'm sorry but that isn't the slightest bit true. Morrison gets a big pop. Not Cena or Orton level but it is a big pop. People like to see R-Truth because he comes out dancing and rapping and usually is interrupting an actually over heel like ADR or Miz. R-Truth himself is most certainly not a draw of any kind. Just look at the fact that Morrison was attached to the big celebrity match while R-Truth didn't even have a spot on the card. Now he's randomly in a WWE title match? I think we're in for a swerve. TNA Lockdown was actually pretty good and didn't have any weird swerves or anything. PPV of the year so far between WWE and TNA ppvs, not that that's much of an achievement. Angle/Jarrett and the Lethal Lockdown match were both awesome. The title match was kind of short but nobody turned heel and Sting retained so I considered it fine. Was really expecting something dumb like Hogan walking away with the WHC.
  12. Don't forget about Orton. I much prefer Mysterio matches to Cena or Orton matches. Mysterio's last two matches with Rhodes and McIntyre were good matches. Can't remember the last good Cena or Orton match that didn't involve CM Punk. I was thinking if Chris Jericho did make his return soon and on Raw, he should feud with John Morrison. He did hit him with a chair and cost him a title shot at Night of Champions back in September, so they do have a history. I think Jericho could really give Morrison that final push he needs through one great feud. Apparently Morrison main evented a house show recently. From www.wrestling-edge.com I'm starting to think R-Truth might lose his spot between now and ER and Morrison be the fill-in.
  13. Christian Vs Del Rio. I can honestly say for the first time in a while I am not sure who is going to win this one, and I love it. The one saving grace from when something unexpected happens like what happened to Edge, is that things can go ANYWHERE from there. For instance, despite losing Drew McIntyre was really put over on commentary and in the ring against Mysterio in what was a really good match. Ezekiel Jackson got to wrestle and WIN. Justin Gabriel made it to the final four in the battle royal, and even eliminated Wade Barrett. Some people are probably upset they had Ezekiel go over Kofi but it was the right move. They don't have much in the way of faces in the midcard on Smackdown and the fact is Kofi is really the only established face that could put anyone over; and Ezekiel desperately needed the momentum after not even having a singles match in over 4 months. I hope he continues to be the personification of domination (not bad mic work from the big man btw). We're seeing the younger guys with a lot of potential get some momentum going now and I love it. The entire Corre was given mic time! For Heath Slater that probably wasn't a great thing but damn it they're giving away opportunities here and that's what matters. Btw Christian had already been getting a main event push, for the past 3 weeks (not including tonight) he main evented Smackdown in matches with ADR, two of which he won. Edge retiring just gives him an opportunity to get the world title sooner rather than later. I hope he wins it at Extreme Rules but creatively there is no wrong choice here IMO.
  14. I don't mind gimmick ppvs too much as long as they're done in moderation and make sense. Money in the Bank for instance I think is a fine basis for a pay-per-view. We're guaranteed at least 2 matches involving quite a few superstars (including guys who don't get a lot of TV time) who are going to give it their all and both matches are guaranteed to play a big part in how the rest of the year unfolds. Elimination Chamber is another gimmicky PPV that I like a lot for the same reasons, though I think it needs a different month rather than right before Wrestlemania. This year's EC PPV shows why, everyone knew Edge was retaining to continue his feud with Del Rio, and that Cena was likely winning to face Miz at Mania, as built up at the Royal Rumble. Fatal-4-Way, eh, having 4-ways for the sake of it seems lame. I actually like matches involving 3+ guys a lot because there's more ways it can go obviously, but a PPV built around the concept just seems so artificial. Hell in a Cell...I like HIAC matches but they're supposed to be special matches that rarely occur and are only suitable for really hot feuds that need a big climax. Having it be a yearly routine thing and sticking cold feuds like Orton/Sheamus into them just reduces the prestige of the HIAC match.
  15. Fatal 4-Way was replaced by Capitol Punishment in this year's PPV line-up.
  16. I'm glad this didn't happen until Edge had his Wrestlemania championship win. There can now be no regrets and no what-ifs when it comes to Edge's career. Hall of Fame no doubt.
  17. Yeah I remember seeing that, believe I posted about it here too. I was hoping it was just good selling. Guess that was the blow that did it.
  18. A lot of stuff happened tonight. Cole and Lawler having another match is terrible. R-Truth in a PPV main event is pretty bad too. Morrison got buried, which is ridiculous because despite the opinions of people who have no clue what they're talking about, he's very talented AND charismatic. But none of that matters all that much, because an all-time great is hanging it up. Thank You Edge.
  19. Okay that is really funny.
  20. That's a fairly solid division for what would be a lowcard title.
  21. Pretty good Smackdown. Once again Christian puts on a great match. Looked like Edge hurt his neck or something on that spear though. Hope he was just selling Brodus' mass. I really thought they might go with a triple threat this time. They still might, but WWE hasn't really been switching up their main events lately so I don't know. I'm glad they at least acknowledged how bad Christian wants a world title though. Hopefully he gets it this year. This is one instance where the brand split is a good thing. Christian can main event Smackdown and be WHC, but if there was just one show and one world title I couldn't see Christian ever getting there. With the brand split he has a pretty good chance.
  22. There's no evidence for that. Morrison could have shrugged her off because 3 months ago he puts on a great WWE title match vs the Miz, and since then has gotten squat as far as a push, and is in a crappy diva match at Wrestlemania. He should have been in a match where he could show off his ability or a match with some title implications. Instead he's teaming with Trish Stratus and...Snooki. Nobody's fault but the WWE's on that one. WM should have been Trish/Snooki vs LayCool, and Morrison vs Ziggler as a separate match. To make room scrap all the crappy backstage skits and don't book announcer vs announcer matches that drag on 15 times longer than a match involving your tag and IC champs. Might even be able to fit in the advertised US championship match that way.
  23. If he gets fired for THAT then it isn't Melina getting Morrison fired, it'd be Trish getting him fired because she didn't get a hug after a wrestling match. Which is pretty damn pathetic. Do some stuff together? Part of his thing? What? Trish comes off kind of trampy here IMO. So one guy on the planet didn't feel like hugging you. Get over it.
  24. Definitely not.
  25. This "incident" (didn't notice it during WM, still not seeing it in replays) happened at Wrestlemania, while he's been out of the title picture since January. Fact is Morrison is way over and can put on great matches and do moves everyone is talking about the next day. He's not going anywhere over this, and I would not be surprised to see him back in the title picture sooner rather than later. As for his letting Batista sleep with his girlfriend...what does that have to do with anything? That was 4+ years ago and we don't know the details. Nor do I really want to. Who cares?
