  1. I think Microsoft's biggest blunder wasn't announcing all this DRM crap, it was not buying BioWare. If they had a developer like that under MGS there wouldn't be a discussion as to what system would ultimately wind up being better because they would be the one that had better games.

And Microsoft wouldn't have rushed ME3 as much and forced them put in a horrid and illogical ending, but that's a different thing entirely.

But first party game support sucks on all systems now.

What is that last sentence supposed to mean? Nintendo has the best first party games and they definitely don't suck.

  2. The Xbox One is launching in the UK at £430, while the PS4 will be £340.

    £430 = $672

    £340 = $531

I can't help feeling totally screwed by that pricing. What hve the UK gamers done to deserve a MASSIVE price hike?

Yeah. That is a bit absurd. I guess they're trying to get more money because their currency is stronger lol. I'm not sure.

  3. Really? I don't play online but I was thinking about the possibility of a Ravens Forum Madden 25 Connected Franchise League with members of the board but if they are charging to play multiplier, forget it.

From my understanding, Sony is requiring you to subscribe to the Playstation Plus program to play online multiplayer. That's what I got from it. It's not a bad service. I'm just not a fan of paying for it but it's going to happen eventually I guess.

I already have a Wii U. I'm a diehard Nintendo fan but I've always had two systems due to Nintendo's weak third party support. I'm going to patiently wait before I decide on one of these systems. I think things are still fluid and may change on Microsoft's front.

  4. Plus the PS4 is $100 cheaper at $399. I really was expecting the PS4 to be more and was going to wait but since it is only $399, I'll get this year.

Would anyone oppose merging the PS4 thread with this thread and calling it, "Next Gen Video Game Discussion". Thoughts?

Yeah. Sounds like an idea to me. I've been thinking the same.

I'm not yet decided between these two systems. I'm trying to be open minded. I'm not happy Sony will charge us now for online multiplayer.

  5. It looks as though the Xbox One will be a massive flop.

Microsoft can still cave to the consumer. We'll have to see what happens. It doesn't look great for them, though. Regardless of what they do they will still look stupid because they did this in the first place. It was a big risk but most consumers will probably forgive them if they reversed course and in addition have the games the consumers want.

    This Ryse game looks awesome.

  6. Chad Johnson might be the dumbest human being in the world, if changing his name to Ocho-Cinco wasn't proof enough of that. He went from probation and no jail time to 30 days because he slapped his attorney's butt in the courtroom. Here's the footage if you want to watch from TMZ.

The footage itself is safe, but I can't guarantee the other stuff on lockerdome will be: http://thefakeespn.lockerdome.com/articles/108070290

I blame Ray Lewis. He messed him up for life after that one big killer hit.

  7. I finally watched the first season of Sherlock and it is a truly incredible show.  I loved it, it was far better than the Sherlock Holmes movies. And I really like Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law's versions of the characters.

How did you watch it? It's a show I wanted to get into but at the time I couldn't devote extra time to watching it.

  8. Lincoln was fantastic and DDL was simply amazing as Lincoln

I loved that Spielberg only focused on the 13th Amendment and didnt try to shove Lincoln's whole life into one movie. That helped give the movie more depth and gave you the ability to learn about others that had a deep impact on our country's history

Daniel Day-Lewis is the best actor in Hollywood right now and it's not even close.

Lincoln , great, so was There Will Be Blood and many, many more.

  9. I've bought used games before so. I'm interested in seeing what the games cost with the used game factor not accounted for in the initial price. If games remain 60 dollars then I have a problem.

It's also a pain because now you can't borrow games or rent them.

I'm very interested in seeing how Microsoft approaches that aspect.

  10. I know I am alone here (from the sound of it) but I don't see Titus Young as dumb. I see him as a sad, lonely man without anything else in his life and he is crying out for help. He's doing these things, I believe, because he's trying to get help. Maybe he doesn't know how to ask. I know it should be common sense. Perhaps it's not so common to him. I don't think he knows how to deal with his stresses.

It's a really sad story. He had a lot of talent. I'm sure he still does. He needs help. He really needs help.

  11. Well, that still could happen. But, those two are not the same. Leach is set to make ~$4.3million against cap in 2013. The only players making Q level money in 2013 are Suggs, Ngata, Yanda and Flacco. Of those names, which one do you ask to take a $2million pay cut?

Yeah, but between the two I would keep Boldin over Leach, even if Boldin is like a clingy GF and has a hard time separating.

And if that was/is the case, why not just explain that to him? I don't buy your logic. It doesn't make any sense. You say it's because he's highly paid. Absolutely true. 100% agree. But when you calculate the addition of the fact that we wouldn't supposedly tell him why we wanted the cut tells me there's something more. Sorry, I don't care how you spin it but I can't see the team asking him for a paycut just because.

  12. But we all knew why they were asking him to take a pay cut. Just going to the numbers online you could see that $7.5million wasn't going to fit under the cap and allow them to do too much more. Sounded to me like he thought they just wanted him to take cut "because".

That's not necessarily true. Hell, with that logic they could cut Leach and save money, too.

  13. I listened to that radio interview with Boldin and something really struck me as kind of odd. Boldin said that the Ravens told his agent that he needed to take a $2million pay cut and he didn't understand why they needed it. Now I'm sure the Ravens made the case to his agent that they were strapped under the salary cap.

Did his agent just not bother to tell him the reason they asked for the pay cut or what? He's traveling, working in Senegal .. I'm sure he probably has no idea on the salary cap numbers for the Ravens ... how does his agent not explain why they are asking for the cut so he can make an informed decision. He sounds like he talked to Harbaugh, he says they will try to work something out and then he doesn't talk to his agent until he steps off the plane in Senegal and his wife tells him people are wishing him well in San Francisco.

    Huh?

Well, they probably didn't want to reveal their plans that could be leaked to the media & thus other teams.

  14. I won't lie, I am a little bit. He basically said he wouldn't play for the Ravens and then all of a sudden was going to hit the market. He also said he wasn't playing for money, but that changed fairly quickly too.

I am myself to be honest. I mean, he goes and makes this statement like "Oh, man. I love this football team. Never go elsewhere, baby." Then the Ravens say "Oh? Really? Hey, my man. Can you take a little less, bro? Like, 2? We got some bills to pay." And then he's all "2 dollars? What kind of bills does that pay?" And we're all "No, son. $2M less." And he's like "Listen up, I'm not taking a penny less and you can shove it" and we're like "Wha? You said you wouldn't leave us, maaaaan. What happened?"

Anyway, it's a business. I get it. Not happy Boldin's gone. Expected it. Saw it coming. Doesn't make it better. Optimistic about our young WRs, though. Not pessimistic about Doss. I'm OK. I'm happy for Anquan, too. I hate the team. But he gets to contend. He knows the division. Nice fit.

But he is at the end of his career. Not sure how long the tires can keep rolling and you have to get younger. Sorry to see him go.

  15. The 0-16 stuff was sarcasm on my part :P

But many SF fans are jumping for joy, bc they have "an elite WR"

I actually made that up. I didn't know anyone said that, lol. I figured it would be sarcasm--I would hope.

People need to wake up. I'm sorry Boldin's gone. I liked him, too. But if you were too blind to see the writing on the wall, well..I don't know. I among others have been saying for a while Boldin would be gone. Nobody wanted to accept it. I prepared myself for this. I knew it would happen--well, not 100% but it was a hunch.

Guys, we've invested many picks into WRs recently. You had to see this coming. Only a 4th or 6tth round pick? Draft picks are valuable no matter the pick. They're like gold. Ozzie doesn't cut his draft picks. Not usually. Very rare for him to do it.

And also, won't you all look stupid who say Doss is no good if the guy blows it up as Boldin said he would when he was gone? I know you're emotional over the loss of Boldin, but wake up and realize the world hasn't fallen, Chicken Little. I'm sick of the complaining.

  16. This thread makes me sick. Not just because Anquan went to a team I dislike, but because of the attitudes around here. Way too much complaining. Wow. I can't believe I agree with Heath Evans right now.

Yeah, it sucks. Anquan's gone. Get over your denial. People have been saying this for months. We were criticized for it. I know I was. I didn't want Anquan gone, but he's gone. Nothing you can do but either continue to care or don't. Whatever. Ravens are still my football team.

You have the right to be upset, but really? 0-16? Losing season? Anquan was good but let's not kid ourselves here. Was he instrumental in us winning the big one? Yeah. Did he make critical plays throughout the playoffs and regular season to even get us here? Yeah. But come on. Stop complaining now. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance. Work your way through these stages.

We aren't done. Heck, maybe we trade for Benn or something. We have a ton of young talent here. You have to see if they can play. Boldin was old and made a lot of money. He's awesome, but you must see what you have from your young guys. Sometimes you roll dice and you win and then sometimes you lose. Just keep rolling!
