The exact same post mentioned that it was too difficult for the moderators to deal with taming the posts right after mentioning that we don't have enough posts to even consider continuing the forum. So we supposedly have a fraction of posts from our peak days, and they were somehow more difficult to control on a significantly smaller scale. Interesting outlook.
Right and then there's no moderating on Facebook or other social media. It's all free game there. Sounds like these are just excuses to placate while avoiding the true answer

Like it you agree
The news articles are rubbish and frequently behind what you'd learn from members here
I learned a lot here and made some good friends. That's all you can hope to achieve. I initially was very quiet here and mainly read the forums to learn from people here. A lot of those guys are now gone, like @Jamal. No idea what happened to him. The Forum Mock was cool, I'm glad @Mt. Crushmoreinvited me and I had some good times with peoples there like @LosT_in_TranSlatioN. He's a good guy who never PMs me anymore--can't win with him, too slow around the edge and not strong at the point of attack but a pure effort guy. @rmw10 has decent explosion but needs more fast twitch muscle but brings a lot of football IQ with those Twitter tweets bringing the knowledge fast and furious where Vin Diesel is jealous. @52520Andrew likes DBZ and is a fan of Hit, and he's terribly unlucky as is rmw. @BmoreBird22 athletic with good understanding of coverage and it's refreshing to speak to another DB. I will keep in touch.
@The Raven I always enjoyed your posts. I think we need more direct comments and you never held back. As for @arnie_uk, check your PMs. @Inqui has the best avatar around and it's true--we colluded numerous times. @flynismo I always enjoyed your posts but you busted on Mike Adams--he's not JO!
Thanks to the Ravens for having this forum for us for as long as they did.
And no offense but @Ravensfan23 is a guy I'll miss.
You won't have an official Ravens forum to get ideas now so you'll have to do it yourself

Flacco seemed to get over it last year, but Joe had a year (2015) where he consistently didn't put enough on the deep ball. There is no reason Waller can't be a Randy Moss type player for us. He's not quite as fast as Moss but unless the hammy injury in 2015 took something out of him Waller is very fast and builds his speed quickly. He should be able to elevate on long go's and haul in the deep ball against a speed spread defense. He's even less of a body catcher than Moss and should be able to high point those go routes. Of course, Joe has to have time and a running game to make the go effective.
What Joe did with him were ally oops that were scripted and because they were scripted they failed terribly. Waller is one of my two for player most likely to improve.
Aren't you that guy who writes in the worst way? I'm confused. This is written in clear English

I'm thinking the trade for him will be very competitive for a former top5 pick. I'm not that crazy about him. It's one of best WRs that could be available to us. Not many teams have talented WRs to trade. I said same about Watkins even moreso. Sandlot football style holding him back ring any bells??
BTW my favorite receiver to try to trade for is Keenan Allen I made that clear before but I don't think chargers would trade him. I would trade a round2 for him with his injury issues as is! Chargers aren't letting him go even after drafting Williams.
A second round pick for Allen? I love Allen--big fan of him coming out of the Draft--but he's a bit injury prone for my taste to trade that type of capital.

Even though it's temporary, I struggle to see how it's going to attract any new members, and it would probably die off quickly. It's nice to try to keep everyone together but you also need new people joining in once some of the original posters decide it's time to call it quits.
That's my concern as well. It's supposedly a temporary avenue that will later expand. So, I suppose his idea to make it scalable is to add the additional content. The problem will be that RSR will likely be the first hit someone will see when they Google Ravens message board or something. You must attract new members to keep the ideas fresh. Without new ideas it'll be the same people posting the same stuff. I wouldn't stay at a place like that and I like most of the people here...generally. You must have people of new ideas to sustain anything.
There's really no perfect option here. None of the other forums are as aesthetically pleasing as this one. I don't think RSR has a PM feature? Is that correct? I've tried and I can't find one, so if someone knows tell me. Purpleflock and the Boardhost sites suffer from either membership and/or layout concerns.
42 minutes ago, supertolerator said:Thank you for the kind words! I will be working with purplepitta on adding new and great features that will definitely set us apart from all competition that could arise in the future, although, I would still like to come in contact with Bold about the situation.
I program as well and have just finished my bachelors degree in Software Development so I'm willing to assist
This also holds true for @BOLDnPurPnBlacK

I don't want to go too far off topic here but I'd disagree that "Jefferson absolutely cannot play FS". He definitely can
The key wherever you go is the traffic--generating new and sustaining existing traffic. If you are small with members exclusive to the website it'll never grow and natural attrition will eventually be your enemy. I'll be at Russell Street Report but I will be monitoring both attempts. I can't stand the layout at RSR because it's not especially mobile friendly from my experience and I haven't used their mobile app else I would've been there sooner. The posters there are knowledgeable and they don't seem to put up with trolls as much and there's regular traffic

Anyways I'm just hoping Bowser and Williams can show more as rookies than Correa.
I think it's either lack of passion for the game or not football smart or both

All of those emails go directly to one person who then funnels them to the appropriate people in the depts. pertaining to the message. We have received several emails from people on the boards and sent replies to each of them.
As we do receive a significant amount of emails, it sometimes takes several days for the message to be sent to the proper person to address it.
I take it there's no going back on this decision huh?
Btw thanks for the extension. It was nice to have a final draft here if it's the last one.
Maybe I'm alone here but I haven't lost any respect for the Ravens but rather their media team who decided this. It's not like Steve, Ozzie and John decided to close this forum after their meeting in FL. This is a Media Department decision likely from the team deciding they want to shift focus to more popular avenues. I can't blame them but I do personally disagree with their stance and think it's a poor decision to remove the forums rather than keep them at a limited capacity.
I think it comes back to the promotions the team runs through its social media avenues, such as the contest to guess the 53, or other stuff like that. It's really minor in my opinion but who knows what kind of resources go into this place. I just don't understand why you'd want to take away a means fans use to connect. That seems foolish.
7 minutes ago, BOLDnPurPnBlacK said:theyd probably run into the same issues -- after 2 years of service with no football, i think itd be hard for a team to use a draft pick on them. Just like its hard to invest a pick in a guy youre only going to get 2 years on a rookie deal, and thats after 2 years of no competitive football.
youre right in that itd probably be better to enter the draft after the service commitment bc at least then youre getting 4 years... but still unlikely theyll get drafted.
I could be wrong here but I recall it being true that if you miss a certain period of time then that year won't count towards FA. Therefore delaying the player's entry into the FA pool. This is why Jensen was an RFA this year and most notably applied to WR Josh Gordon. It may even apply to Perriman due to the time he missed as a rookie.
20 minutes ago, allblackraven said:Either that or Horitz, DeCosta and maybe even Ozzie raised a stink with SB, worried about their jobs.
Yeah it may be the Forum Mock. I mean, we've seen prices escalate there like in real life now and some of these trades now...wow. I'm thinking that's it.
Perhaps the Ravens learned that we as a fan base are so knowledgeable that other teams use our scouting reports when researching draft prospects and when scouting and game planning against us. By closing the forum, this "makes us a better team" like when open practices at McDaniels stopped happening

Tim could very easily be the top Edge defender in this class. His potential is extremely high and impressive and he's very explosive. I'm still a huge fan of Ryan Anderson, his teammate, just because I felt like Tim went straight up the field at times and that just really drives me nuts as a pass rusher but the explosiveness is there and so is the willingness to improve. I think Williams has a very nice array of moves to use and that's great. The question here is if we can make him a complete player.
3 minutes ago, JoeyFlex5 said:I won't say Myles Garrett is the most overrated in X years. BUT... of all the super hyped prospects that actually were gonna become great players, Garrett seemed to be more overhyped than most.
Garrett is a better version of Clowney. Clowney received a lot more hype but wasn't as good of a prospect in my opinion. I never liked his work ethic and always questioned it.
4 minutes ago, JoeyFlex5 said:I never cooled on vh3, I actually didn't like him at first and he grew on me. And I still think he will be an elite corner once he adjusts to the NFL better. He's still very small and needs to adapt to maximize his abilities as a small shifty corner.
but I don't see Humphrey in the same light. Vh3 was incredibly refined yet small and more fluid than fast. Humphrey is a big physical guy who is more explosive/fast than fluid.
I wasn't making a player comparison in terms of Humphrey and Hargreaves as prospects because they're extremely different in quite a few ways. I was comparing their draft stock when the year started and ended.
5 minutes ago, JoeyFlex5 said:I may be in the minority here, but I think Garrett is vastly overrated, as a projection he is elite, but as a rookie I don't think he is the world beater he's made out to be right now. Plus tru makes a great point, his job will be much harder.
Williams will have fresher legs and I actually think he disengages better than Garrett, his spin move is about the most impressive pass rush move in this whole draft aside from barnetts dip and bend.
As one of the biggest fans of Myles Garrett here, I'd agree he's overrated. I just love the guy as a person. He's also a Hell of a football player. That said, I think Tim Williams is in a better spot to succeed than Garrett because the Browns have guys but Garrett has a lot to do there. One player can have a huge impact though just like Watt did. The thing with Garrett is he also has his issues and areas to improve and I'm not confident in Cleveland to get him there
27 minutes ago, JoeyFlex5 said:He is supremely better at off coverage. Wright played off to play safe, Humphrey plays off to play aggressive. He plays off to diagnose the play and come downhill and blow up any short pass.
He needs work, but Humphrey defends the short pass as well as any corner I've seen
It's funny because you know who I think of when I think about Humphrey and how people are disappointed with the pick? I think of Vernon Hargreaves last year who was widely viewed as the best college CB coming out until people cooled down on him significantly.
Just heard on 105.7 The Fan interview Tim Williams and he sounds really knowledgeable here on stuff. Pretty excited for him to get started. He also confirmed he's going to wear 56
Btw not sure if it's been mentioned yet but Perriman changed his number to 11--his college number.
