The WWE just lost probably the most complete package that they have by losing Punk. I can't say I won't miss him. His 2011-2012 run was some of the most amazing WWE TV in recent memory. Not to mention his match with Lesnar last year. Just awesome all around. I still love looking at his promos from that 2011-2012 run. I hope the WWE is going to actually push some more talent because it's going to seriously get old to have to keep looking at Orton, Cena, and Batista going forward. Never mind. We're past that point.
I'm not sure how the WM card is going to fill out at this point. It was rumored that Vince held a creative meeting following Punk's departure and because of what happened at the Royal Rumble when the crowd started booing Batista. It was said that they are changing up their whole WM card now going forward. I'm wondering who are they actually going to push for Mania, who's Taker going to face, and where will Daniel Bryan be. Also, since it has also been reported (rumored) that Sting has signed with the WWE. Will he appear at Mania or afterwards?
As am I. Then again, have the Texans really developed anyone other than Andre? I'm assuming we're adding their old guy.
If it's Kirksey, he's coached a number of WRs throughout his coaching career.

Now that Hostler's gone and we now have a competent OC, I'm much more optimistic about any WR we'd draft now.
So Leach and Jacoby told Harbs they should go after Kubiak.
Harbaugh said we might have to hire a WR coach.
Thank you!
I'm glad they finally decided to branch out. We needed an offensive shakeup after being pretty damn garbage on offense last year. Kubiak should work wonders for our running game and our play-action will be deadlier than ever with Flacco.
Kyle Shannahan isn't joining Kubiak according to Wilson.
Fantastic hire and I'm glad the FO saw that we needed a new mind here on offense after the horrible offensive showing last season.
The most excited I've been about our offense in a while.
Some fantastic news for XBO owners. MS acquired the rights to the Gears of Wars franchise and brought over the director of production of the series from Epic to work on it with Black Tusk. There were some questions that Epic wasn't interested in continuing the franchise and if they did it would be multiplatform. MS basically ensured that the series will continue and it will be exclusive to the Xbox One.
Don't know about you guys but this is awesome news for me considering Gears of War was arguably my favorite multiplayer shooter of last generation. Very happy that the series is continuing and that I bought an Xbox One.
Harbaugh will announce his OC at 3 PM today according to Hensley.
My thinking is if Kubiak does well here in one year he'll get a HC job somewhere, then Shanahan will just continue on with the offense as the OC. Shanahan didn't get many looks for an OC job out there this year so this is his next best shot.
Which is benefit of hiring both.
What is your definition of 'dynamic'? The Texans ranked in the top five on offense three times and in the top half on offense seven times. That's not even counting that Kubiak's offense never finished below top seven when he was in Denver. That's more success than we have ever had on offense and definitely better than what we had this past season.Kubiak's ability as a playcaller is concerning for me as well. He's a slave to the playaction pass and I have seen the Ravens do the same thing over and over again (run, run, pass, punt) for far too long. It's a bit unfair to compare Kubiak to Cam, but it still doesn't change the fact, that the Texans weren't exactly known as a very dynamic offensive team.
Aaron Wilson states that Jim Hostler's position could be something to look out for because he could be gone after not getting the OC job.
Are people just more excited about Kubiak because he has more experience than Shanahan (because they run virtually the same system) or is it the possible influx of talented coaches Kubiak will bring with him that truly has people giddy?
I believe it's a combination. A lot of people wanted the Ravens to go after Kubiak in the first place since he has had previous OC success and Houston had a top offense a good portion of the time that he was there. Now that it's coming in that they want Shanahan, Dennison, on top of Kubiak, which is a good portion of the same staff that helped propel Houston to fielding those offenses, everyone is even more excited.
This is excellent news!
Kubiak would have been the choice all along but when the news went dead so did my hopes
edit - still don't like Shanahan but if they come as a package deal, so be it
Same. Kubiak was my first thought as well. I hope this all comes together.
Schefter:
Ravens trying to assemble star-studded offensive coaching staff with Gary Kubiak, Rick Dennison, Kyle Shanahan. Will not please Cleveland.
I like the sound of this. This would be amazing!!!
Holy..
Harbaugh, don't disappoint me!
Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan just wrestled the best match since CM Punk and Brock Lesnar at Summerslam. Fantastic match and a great win for Wyatt. Guess the WWE will be building Wyatt up to face Cena at WM like the rumors say after all.
I expect it to be Hostler. I don't believe in John Harbaugh not "believing in his guys".
In my mind, if Hostler was going to be the guy, he'd already be there. I don't recall us fielding outside interviews when Rex, Mattison, or Pagano left.
That's the only gleaming light. However, there was no huge transition needed after those guys left considering no matter who took over, they would have a top defense as far as personnel. Even though Mattison was a horrible play caller, we still finished at the top on D. Goes to show just how spoiled we've been on defense. Offense? Well I'm not surprised they're doing their due diligence considering we've been mediocre at best for a while now outside of playoff time.
Oh yes.Shanahan apparently has a second interview today.
So is Wilson is getting a second interview too?
I believe it was said that the players liked Caldwell as well, so that really doesn't mean much. Also I personally find it hard to believe that a guy who isn't afraid to speak his mind even against the FO in Flacco would be so in favor of guy who is supposed to be so terrible. If Hostler had as much input as many sugguest, why do the players like him so much?
Now let's be positive here. Harbaugh clearly knows what our team needs when it comes to the offensive side of the ball. It's why he supported Cam after five years of average to mediocre offenses, why he fired Jim Zorn who was someone his quarterback loved as a coach helped develop him early on in his career, why he promoted a coach who had never been an OC in his career nor had the desire to be the permanent OC to the position, and why he's considering promoting someone who had a hand in helping us deliver one of the worst offenses in the history of our franchise to OC (not to mention the experience he had as an OC was a complete disaster).I know you're joking but I will absolutely despise that move. We just had the worst offense we've ever fielded and Hostler surely had a hand in that effort. Why would we promote him? What sort of change will that bring? It isn't like he has a resume that says he can do better than what we produced last season. IMO it would be a stupid move by Harbaugh and complete ineptitude from the FO to allow it.
Linehan & Shannahan clearly have better resumes. I know you hate the buddy talk, but I see nothing to support Hostler being promoted other than the buddy system. Consistency can't be a reason because surely we do not want to remain the mediocrity we saw this past season.
I hated Cam for years, could sit on my couch & call 95% of the plays correctly. IMO Hostler will bring more of the same and it is change we need. I just see nothing that points to us seeing any change with Hostler as OC.
It would be yet another experiment and this is not the time for experimenting. We need proven talent, not possible talent.
With that track record when it comes to offense, how could you doubt Harbaugh?
Aaron Wilson reports that multiple NFL sources at the Senior Bowl are predicting that Jim Hostler will be our OC.

"Let's promote from within the same staff that helped deliver us one of the worst offenses in the history of our franchise. Offensive mediocrity is a staple of our team that makes us who we are!"
-John Harbaugh
I could see that happening. I could see a Bray Wyatt win against Bryan and Bryan hopping in the Rumble to get some of that momentum back. Only thing is, it's rumored that Taker wants Bryan at Mania so it could very well end up being someone else winning the Rumble.I'm mixed on his return. I don't mind Lesnar coming back, I don't mind Rock coming back. In terms of Batista, I'm just like, I can do with or without him. Then again, I'm a Daniel Bryan fan so I don't want to see Bryan pushed down the card because of Batista when he truly deserves the Rumble win and to have his WM moment at WM 30.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Orton retain against Cena in some screwy finish, he leaves Elimination Chamber with the title. Bryan wins the Rumble and then faces Orton at WM and gets his redemption over Orton after everything those two did last summer.
Since this thread is back, what is your all opinion of the WWE Network?
And I know I'll be subscribing to the network. It's worth it for the free future PPVs alone. The backlog makes the deal amazing.

Great news. Hopefully he starts strong and finishes strong this time around.
