Good luck with those penalties, Tennessee.
Any reasonable NTs, 3-4 DEs we could sign? I don't trust Ngata's health, and with Art gone, our abysmal run defense may even get worse. The only guy I see that we have currently with huge upside is Brandon Williams, and maybe KLM. We have literally no one else besides Canty.
DE/NT could be an under the radar early draft pick.
With that contract size, he'll cost us probably around 2M on the cap. Should still have room for some moves.
Mack would likely consume almost all of that (and Cleveland would probably match it). I still think De La Puente or Dietrich-Smith are the more realistic options.
Perhaps the front runner is Dietrich-Smith ... because of his last name (it is at least 1/2 a "Smith") :-)
Already signed with another team. ![]()
That game was so damn clutch.
This should be awesome. Now let's go get the best offensive weapon that falls to us in the draft.
Here we go: Former Panthers WR Steve Smith is scheduled to fly tonight to Baltimore to spend Friday meeting with Ravens, per source.
It got real. o.o
As for Mack, the only way we get him is that we (to quote my Sicilian ancestors) would need to "make him an offer he can't refuse." That would give us stability on the OL with Monroe and Mack both inked for the next few years.
I still salivate at the thought of Mack coming here. He would essentially solidify our line to the point where it wouldn't even matter who we put at RT especially with a healthy KO.
Just answer the question, if you are indeed capable of comprehending it.
I wish I could but unfortunately there's nothing left to discuss when you follow an idiotic statement with a shockingly even more moronic question. Becoming typical at this point.
I think we're done here.
Wow, genius rebuttal, what next are you going to juggle?
Thank you. It's the response I give to moronic statements that appear out of thin air.
Already in contact with Steve Smith per PFT wp.me/p14QSB-9r4N
Said it wasn't even an hour after his official release. lol
how could we draft ebron and dix?..just curious..you think dix will last till the 2nd round or do we trade our 2nd round pick and say a 6th for an earlier pick in that round?
Yeah he meant one of them. =)
I agree though. Could definitely see Ebron, Mosley depending on what happens with Smith, or Dix (even though I prefer not to take him). Amaro would be a good option in the second round as well.
Ah, you like reaching in the draft for inferior talent, got it.

Haven't we signed our own TE weapon? We'll get TE who can block. And we'll draft WR no later than 2nd unless top prospect wideout drops to where we pick.
We'll get a TE who can be a receiving threat to go with Pitta who can also block which is why I believe they'll take a TE early. There are options there.
You might have an argument for JJ but Marlon Brown showed a lot of promise last season and will most likely show more as he grows. I mentioned JJ because even he is serviceable as a 4th receiver.Well conidering the rookie would likely be much better than Marlon and Jacoby and that we base the majority of our snaps out of 3 wide sets, it shouldn't be that hard.
No he should draft the best player available at a position of need. We bring in Steve Smith and he lessens that need for the short term which is why there's a chance they don't take a WO early if he comes here. And what is wrong with that? Ozzie should draft the best player he can, regardless of position. What if we don't draft a wideout in 2014 for some odd reason? Shouldn't Ozzie cover all the bases?
It's arguable that Steve Smith would get in the way of a young WR getting more playing time. Assuming we sign him, we'd have Torrey, Steve, Marlon, and Jacoby. It's difficult to see how a rookie cracks that lineup outside of splitting with Marlon Brown maybe.Signing Smith would not preclude Ozzie from drafting a first round wideout. I think the contract will be two years 11 million 4.5 million guaranteed, our cap hit wont be diddly with such a limited guaranteed contract.
But I fear we won't draft one in the early rounds. I can see so many of these players come in and make an impact from day 1. If we get Steve Smith he'll only be in the way.
If we do end up getting him, I at least hope we get him for cheap.
Yeah that's one of the concerns that I had. He's likely only going to play for us one or two years. It'd be a shame that we didn't take a receiver in one of the deepest drafts in a while just because we got Steve Smith as a stop gap.
I do think we still take a weapon early though but it will probably be a TE instead of a WR.
The Raiders are going to be so bad next year.
There are people literally upset about this move?

If anyone thinks this takes us out of the running for other receivers:
Ravens remain quite interested in WR Julian Edelman. Pats want him back too. Other teams in the mix.

Posted in the offense thread, but meant to post it here. lol

Signed strictly as a return man and a a 3rd or 4th receiver as he has been. I'm just glad we to keep seeing him dance. Lol
That would be FANTASTIC, but I imagine the Browns will match any offer made to Mack, unfortunately.
If they keep dishing out expensive contracts (or if they acquire Revis), there could be an opportunity there.

If we get Mack with a healthy KO, we'll have one of the best lines in the league even if we put someone average at RT.

Yeah that was some Triple H in his prime type stuff there. Not too many have played the role of a heel as well as Triple H does.
