  1. This just in... apparently Ravens planning to take Jabrill Peppers as he's top 5 on their board and almost guaranteed to be there.

    Commence meltdown.

Lacanfora just reported live on local Philly station 97.5 the fanatic.

All my years as a ravens fan, I can't remember ravens selecting the #1 most wanted fan pick. Prepare to be heart broken

I feel like most wanted jimmy smith if I remember correctly.

  3. Man, after listening to Steve Smith, and watching john Ross's highlight tape...I'm convinced that we need to pick Ross if he's available

Steve Smith also said Cooper Kupp is the best WR in the draft. Hes media now. As much as i love him, his opinions are just opinions. And highlights tapes arent a great way to get an opinion on a prospect.... its literally a compilation of their best plays. Gotta evaluate the bad too.

Go to main page,  scroll over "flock" then choose contests or whatever it is. Pick the pick for $10k. I swear if you choose Lamp you won't make it through the night...not a threat, not that warning mean anything at this point anyway...

Wasnt going to pick Lamp, but now that you mention it.....

ill say ill be guilty of it if the pick is taco charlton - i of course will eventually be able to turn myself onto it but it might take longer than usual in some cases - it of course all depends on who's left on the board when we pick

i dont believe in Taco at all. Not a fan. and ill hate it at first.

But same thing... i recognize that some are really high on him, and that there is a possibility he becomes a very very good player. So ill forget it eventually and hope Ozzies right and im wrong. Thats morel ikely anyways. And Ill just decide to root for him to become his absolute best.

  6. I like it except the freddie stevenson pick. cant see us drafting a FB.

Also not a fan of Pocic. at all. not for us at least.

I pretty sure its Eddie Jackson from Bama.

Keion as a late round flyer - love it. I think we like Justin Senior and hes got the size to be really good if he can work on his balance and footwork. RT only, but thats what we need. ANd Jordan Morgan is my favorite mid-to-late-round small school prospect in this draft. I think hes a 10 yr starter at OG.

I don't understand the hype behind Riddick. Yes he's a versatile player but he can't cover or rush the passer among the best in this class. It's seems like everyone wants the 2 for 1 special with him. At 16 Jarred Davis  is there he's the better ILB. His man to man coverage skills are far more superior than Riddick. We're going to be taking a raw player at 16 just because he's versatile. I don't even want to mention how bad of a tackler he is. He's try's to go for the big hit every time.

Reddick is among the best edge rushers. He struggles in a few games, but hes just so fast and quick he can blow by the edge or get the tackles momentum moving one way and blow past the other way. He knifes through gaps like butta, he covers, he pursues side to side, he tackles with authority and doesnt often miss. hes a beast disengaging and making tackles against the run.

I personally think he could start and be a very good 3 down ILB or play 3 downs on the edge. But i think his best use is moving him all around to create favorable matchups. A slow RT -- move him over there and let him abuse him all day til they have to put a TE or RB over there to help. A good pass catching TE? Let him mix covering and rushing. Good inside rushing game? Put him inside and let him knife the gaps to clean everything up.... and blitz on 3rd downs.

The dude can do a lot, and do a lot at a very high level.

Hes not my favorite pick at 16.... but id be really happy to have him. Matt Ruhle makes football players. Plain and simple. And he was a walk on..... at Temple. And now hes a 1st round pick. The guy is going to work and get every single ounce of his ability. That means a whole lot.

oh wow that's amazing - im glad they are doing that

yea i think they realized it ruins the drama of the spectacle whne everyone watching knows the picks before theyre announced. Plus im sure it hurts viewership bc people know they can just keep their twitter feed going and get the picks that way.

So i think theyre going silent and letting it all play out in real time on TV this year.

    Davis v Williams🤔

I've gone back and forth so much. Williams has an immense ceiling and his size/ catch radius cannot be overlooked. He has also done damage against elite competition.

Davis on the other hand is so much more polished and has good size as well. He attacks the ball and is versatile enough to play inside or outside. I see him as a work horse, a guy that always has something to prove and will work for the ball on each play. He hasn't faces elite competition however.

If both are on the board I would have to flip a coin and walk away because I couldn't make that call. If Williams is 100% committed and focused I think he had all-pro potential, but if he slacks off, he could be just another big receiver.

I go Williams. I think better fit for Flacco's skill set and i think higher floor. I see him at worst being like Michael Crabtree, good enough to be a #1 on a decent and balanced receiver group, but a #2 to an elite WR. Capable of making big plays and being a big time threat on 3rd downs and in the red zone.

so often though it's guys like rappoport who spoil it anyway lol - what are they gonna do to him - they literally pay him to do what they would be asking him not to do

he said yesterday on pardon my take that he wont be announcing any picks. None of them will be.

Should we draft Alpha Males and players with fast twitch muscle?

nah im with you. the constant use of the word "homer" and the hate for prospects that dont have the fast twitch athletic traits and stuff.

I had suspicions a bit ago... but today it became all but obvious to me.

The winchester really comes out when you get him riled up.

Please add a note about not spoiling the picks as well.

    YES, especially 1st round.

THough i think the NFL is dropping the hammer on any media guys releasing info. I think they can face serious fines and stuff for releasing any info about teams picks before theyre announced on TV.

But, just in case. Also good to make it a rule here.

i meant guys to make the 53 not the 90

you dont have to explain. this is the guy who picked patrick mahomes for the jets at 6 and then snapped back when someone called it out bc this is supposed to be "fun"... and then broke the rules by putting in a flurry of picks.

It makes me more worried for the Cam Robinson stuff. I think foster is going to be an excellent player but I initially thought we'd pass on him due to the concerns. But if Ozzie gives Foster a pass, he's likely to give one to Robinson as well. Only because of Alabama.

Ozzie Newsome is a hypocrite if this is the case

Read a great article on this the other day.

Relationships with the colleges matter a ton. Its not just because theyre alabama players that he ignores off field stuff. He has sources there beyond the coach and players. He knows professors, janitors, secretaries, etc... taht he can ask how these kids are when no ones watching. how they are in class. are these problems big or no.

How many alabama players have we drafted then went on to get arrested or cause head aches? If ozzie trusts his sources at bama and theyve never steered him wrong on a players character, and maybe HAVE steered him away from talented bama players in the past -- its not trust the player or overlooking the red flags, its just getting deep information that he trusts.

He may not know a soul at Ole Miss and couldnt get anything reliable on Tunsil, or this player or that player.

    Its not hypocritical at all.

Im sure youre quicker to forgive a brother, sister, friend, cousin, etc... for doing the same exact thing than you would a stranger. because you have the context of the mistake, you know it doesnt define that person, and others you trust also still like that person. the stranger you have no context, whether this was an isolated incident or just the 1st time they were caught -- and even if ppl tell you otherwise, if you dont know THEM well you dont know if they have alternative motives (like hyping up your program by pushing a player in the 1st round).

Ozzie has solid sources at Bama to vet this stuff that he just doesnt otherwise. Im sure Michigan is the same too. Peppers and Jourdan Lewis may not be any lower on our board than they were before, while others with similar issues may have fallen. Or maybe they did fall bc Jim verified that theyre both punks. But i guarantee theyre more confident in their evals of the Michigan kids than they are the Ohio state.

    16. Baltimore Ravens

Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama: Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome is Crimson Tide to his core, and he loves the way this kid plays. There are some red flags but everything I've heard leads me to believe this team is comfortable with him. Sure, a pass catcher makes sense, but I don't see that happening unless Mike Williams is on the board.

I wouldnt hate it. Not at all. If were comfortable with the off field stuff -- potentially a top 5-7ish talent at 16. Sign me up.

Though i might think for a second or two if other guys i like are on the board.

  16. I want everyone who thinks they know their stuff to post who you wouldve (or who ozzie shouldve if youre one of those that thinks oz should be fired) taken at our pick(s) with who was left on the board.

Theres a lot of talk around here and this is closing. Time to walk the walk.

Put your rep on the line and make the picks within the reality of the situation the team is dealt. And then we can save the ones we care about, critique in a year or 2 or 3 (i hope we all merge somewhere else and stay active), and then make fun of how bad we all are at evaluating talent even though we think we're great.

@BOLDnPurPnBlacK just curious what'd ya think of my two drafts?

theyre nice. i use fanspeak a lot... its fun.

Really like the 1st four picks in both... and honestly beyond the 3rd round its anybodies guess as to who may actually be available and who will be good, so i wont comment much on the later picks.

We hit on the the holes while grabbing guys who would likely be BPA at that spot -- when value and need meet its a beautiful thing.

Only knock i have is Pocic - but its a personal preference. I worry about his leverage, and i dont think he fits the model of getting bigger and nastier that the FO and coaches have preached. But, some really like him and thats fine.

how are we homers for disagreeing about your assessment of a player who isnt on our team and probably wont end up on our team?

No we're homers for liking a player from........... Tennessee.

The repeating of stupid dreams of every homer. Teams are going to kick him aside because of his traits don't add up to elite player. But the ravens are going to see the good and draft him anyways and he will reward the ravens. That's every homers pipe dream. Drafting a try hard player nobody else wanted and him becoming an elite player.

Most scouts and experts think Corey Davis is going to fall to late 20's bc they dont think hes as good as Williams or Ross.

But you think hes the best. Hes a try hard who isnt nearly as dominant as Williams or Ross in freak athletic traits. What say you? You think Davis is gonna hard work his way to dominance? Hes not as fast, not as big, not as good hands, not as acrobatic. Hes gonna flame out just like every other small school WR that looked good playing a bunch of middle schoolers.

Such homerism for liking him (haha bc someones a 'homer' for thinking a player from Tennessee will work out.. you DO know what the home in homer stands for right?)
