  1. Straight on! Some people like to alter reality...Much as I liked Ray, all of your comments are right on target.
  2. Ha-HA, Bart Scott just called out Ray Lewis, said Flacco got that 2nd ring for you dude...
  3. Like this article...thanks for the memories, will always remember smashing the Cowgirls in the mouth to close out Texas stadium. Other than the Raiders, we are one of the most dis-liked teams in the NFL, which is sad because this is one of the better franchises in the league. We are very lucky to have an ownership that is committed to winning, and players who genuinely feel like they need to "play like Ravens". I hope we can pull out a win on Sunday and let America know the Ravens are ready to play any team, anywhere. GO RAVENS!!!
  4. Ray Lewis will ALWAYS need the attention...One of the greatest Raven's, but the guy just loves being in the spotlight, and will always promote himself in any way possible. Not faulting him for it, but it is the truth...And to be honest, we don't know how much he's missed in the locker room seeing how almost all the players on the team never played with him...some of these guys may think he's an old foggie and wish he'd shut up telling them how to play - we fans can't say how some of the new generation of players on the team feels.
  5. I don't think Dixon is being underutilized, the Ravens are simply bringing him along slowly because of his injury. We've already got three of our rookie draft picks on IR (although I still never heard what Henry's injury was, anyone know the specifics?), and Alex Lewis is pretty much done for the rest of the regular season...So I've no problem with making sure that Dixon is 100% before unleashing him. The guy has shown some decent flashes of his potential, and he should be nice and fresh for the second half of the season.
  6. Those guys are going to want $10-15 million per year. You want to spend that much cap space on "competition"? Kinda foolish to spend that money on another QB when you could use that to keep BWill. Joe wins games, period. That's all you need in this league. I don't need a fantasy QB. Give me Joe Montana & Troy Aikman over Dan Marino & Jim Kelly everytime. Excellent reply!
  7. Did I say that? No, in fact in other posts I've said Joe needs to play better himself but I'm tired everyone blaming Joe for all of the offensive short comings this year. There is a direct correlation between having a pathetic offensive line, your #1 receiver being out, no run game and the way your QB performs - especially coming back from a torn ACL!!! Well stated...a lot of people need to be held accountable for our offensive woes. I'm not giving Joe a pass either, but it takes more than shaky QB play to lose some of the games we've lost this year.
  8. Kind of early to make any predictions, isn't it? Ramsey=Peters? In whose fantasy world is that real? Ramsey hasn't looked bad, but he's not exactly been a game changer either, so let's wait and see before proclaiming the guy the second coming of Neon Sanders...And how are you saying its a major mistake for drafting Stanley? Almost every lineman in NFL history has taken at least a year to make the transition from college to pros. Its not as easy as you seem to believe. More so with two rookies starting besides each other, but that's a different complaint then just saying the guy's a bum. pretty much all o-lineman go through an adjustment period. So I'll wait to make a judgement call...you may be proven correct, but at this point you're simply over reaching to lay blame on the front office with no justification.
  9. 100% true. Lets face it, other than possibly the Raiders, we are the most dis-liked team in America. We get very little respect, other than our 2000 Super Bowl defense, which is undeniably one of the best units of all time, so they do give us credit there. But pretty much negative reactions are the norm. I agree with you about containing Zeke also...don't know if we can completely shut him down, but if we can limit his output and put the pressure on Prescott to carry the load, we have a very good chance of winning this game. Of course, the offence is going to have to step up and make some plays also...
  10. Work on getting the offence better...
  11. "Classy" speech from Romo? I listened to the whole thing and it sounded like he ripped off a couple of verses from a bunch of Hallmark greeting cards...Possibly as hokey and fake tear-inducing sentimental clap-trap as could come out of a professional athletes mouth. Give me a break, whats he supposed to say, that he hopes Prescott does bad so he can get his job back? Cowgirls public relations department worked overtime to come up with this "I'll be brave and take one for the team" phony baloney speech. Some of them must have written scripts for movies from the Lifetime channel.
  12. On a side note, I like the name "Pughsley"...Now THAT is a football name! If Madden was still announcing games, he'd have a field day and mention this guy every chance he got.
  13. So what was his injury? Guy hasn't played all year, and he mysteriously hurts himself? Did he get a serious case of hemmroids from sitting on the bench, or fall down a couple flights of stairs? Anything serious, or the Raven's just figured they weren't going to use him this year, so toss him on the IR so no one else can claim him? No answer in this article. Pretty spotty reporting...
  14. I'm trying to remember if the Ravens were ignored the last time they went to Dallas and stole the show, which oddly enough was Flacco's rookie year. Actually, I believe we did get some attention, mainly because Joe was a rookie and Harb's a first year head coach and we were heading towards the play-offs, which wasn't expected, so we were getting some press. Not to mention that we ruined America's team final home game at Texas stadium, and as I remember some commentators were of the opinion that we should have thrown the game so Dallas could retire their stadium in style. Much like the reporters that felt Cal Ripken should have ended his streak before breaking Gehrig's record. It may come as a total shocker, but there are quite a few people out there who don't like Baltimore... I'm not saying that we wouldn't get SOME credit if we beat the Cowgirls, but the national media would be much, much more focused on Romo VS Prescott hype, with a brief mention that we somehow managed to win.
  15. Beating the Cowgirls would have the media going into a frenzy over "should Romo be the starter over Prescott" storyline, and the Raven's would be pretty much ignored as usual. Which would be fine by me.
  16. I just want us to beat the cowgirls so all the media pundits will scream about wether Romo/Prescott should be the starting QB in Dallas, while no one pays attention to us and we methodically continue to win ugly games and no one gives us a chance, then we barely slip into the play-offs and everyone hates us...sounds like the usual way the Ravens win.
  17. Hope he can take advantage of the situation, the guy has all the right tools and a ton of raw talent...Interesting to see what happens not only when Gillmore comes back, but also Boyle gets off the suspended list. Wish him good luck in any case.
  18. Welcome to "parity"...something the league has been pushing for a long tyme. So I don't agree with "incompetence" to describe the division, just watered down and spread thin talent that all teams in the NFL are dealing with. Even the examples you use as upper tier teams are beatable on any given Sunday...The days of truely dominant teams are almost gone, for better or worse depending on how you look at it.
  19. Wow, it always baffles me how our fanbase is absolutely uncapabale of any critical thinking. I was being realistic. I did not say we were gonna lose. I pointed out we need strong outing from our RBs to win, because all but 1 half this season Flacco has not carried this team. And that it'll be tough cause our O-line is injured. What part of that was pessimistic?! These are facts. No beef about legitimate complaints, nor random grousing, but there are a lot of trolls on this site who run their mouths, offer no constructive solutions, and generally spew toxic venom. Personally, I didn't find anything really negative about your comment, just speaking honestly. However, you have to admit there are some really vindictive posters on this site (one guy, who I actually know out in the real world, is a big yellow and black fan who comes on here to stir up trouble), so excuse people if they are angered by negative comments. I've seen you on here many times, and have no problem with your constructive criticism. GO RAVENS!!!
  20. This is true...Cowgirls haven't run into a front seven like the Ravens yet, so I'm opptimistic that we can limit Zeke, even if we can't totally contain him. Really stud player, but I don't see our D-line giving up monster runs like the Squeelers did. And this could be a coming out into the spotlight game for Williams, to prove he's worth big dollars when he hits free agency next year. And I like reminding people, the Cowgirls have NEVER beaten the Ravens, not even when we were two touchdown dogs in the final game at Texas stadium, and went down there and blew them out of the water. I know we only play them every four years, but wouldn't it be great to continue that unbeaten streak? Call it a premonition, but I have a feeling that we're going to be the team that throws the Romo/Prescott controversy to a new level after we win in Dallas...
  21. I want some of what you're smoking...
  22. Really have to agree that those two games against the Bungles are going to probably determine if we make the play-offs or sit at home...
  23. Really exciting looking player, seems to be getting better every game, and is exceeding expectations...not bad at all for a 4th rounder. I especially like his energy and resilience to come back and work harder after a bad game/play. Have to admit, looks like a nice addition.
  24. Congrats to Harbs, also. During that four game skid, I forgot that he was ready to break the record. Hope he can keep racking up more wins for the Ravens!
  25. Agreed. Need more time to evaluate just how valuable each player will be to his team in the long run. As I recall, Stanley was ranked way higher than Tunsil after the first three games, so this ranking is basically meaningless. Talking heads need something to talk about, however...
