  1. I would'nt mind if we drafted Jack...I'm not sure he will drop to #6 though. Some people are worried about his injuries, but lets be for real, any player you take can be injured (see:Perriman) so you just don't know. I would'nt consider him a ray Lewis clone, but he does have the required skill set to be an outstanding ILB.
  2. I've seen us linked to Ochi in several mock drafts...Stony Brook is just not up there as far as competition though. Could be good developmental player, but what round would you take him? I've seen him all over the board in different rounds.
  3. I'm optimistic that we will win 9-10 games this year...your formula sounds about right, and seems doable with our scheduled opponents. I'm still of the opinion that last year was a one year drop-off and not the start of a nose-dive.
  4. I'm still not convinced we'd take him...especially throwing him in at LT with Flacco coming off an injury. I guess you could play him at guard like we did with Ogden, and keep Monroe at LT, and let him gain experience...But I think there's too many good picks on defense we could use.
  5. The Raven's ALWAYS entertain trading back for more picks, i'm just not so certain they'll do it this draft because there are so many good players that you would feel comfortable starting at the top of this draft...Now, if a team were willing to throw in a future #1 and maybe a #2 and/or #3 this year, they would have to really weigh that decision. Given this years crop of QB's isn't exactually blowing everybody away, I don't see that big a run on QB's happening...But you could get a team in desperation mode.
  6. The only player even remotely worth trading up for would be Tunsil, which I can't see happening.
  7. We've given will Hill, nick Boyles and asa Jackson second chances and they've blown up in our faces...I'd like to believe we'd give Spence a shot, irregardless, but I think we'd have to trade back up into the lower 1st round to do it...can't see him there at #36...Don't know if the Raven's would give up 2 draft picks for a guy with his history, even though he's saying all the correct things.
  8. I only see them drafting Spence if we trade back in the draft...too many good players with out the issues to take him early, and I think he'll be gone by our 2nd pick(#36).
  9. These are pretty obvious predictions...I might put Hargreaves up with the other four guys, because yes I do see us drafting a starting CB in this draft. I've heard Alexander and Fuller's name brought up as 2nd rounders also. We need someone who can start either on the outside, or as a nickle or dime. The need for a tackle, at least one who can back-up the position and possibly groom long term as a starter, is also pretty obvious given Monroe's injuries. I like Monroe when healthy, but there is nobody i'd trust on the roster right now who can fill in for him. Tunsil would be a no-brainer, but he will be gone, and i'm not so high on Stanley, especially as the #6 overall pick if you can help the defense in that spot. I would be surprised, but not shocked if we drafted Elliot...he looks to be a great player, but with all our other needs I don't see it unless the FO was totally convinced he was "best player available" and the top defensive guys that we like are gone by #6...which I think one of them will be there.
  10. Oh if Tunsil falls, the Ravens will cartwheel their choice to the NFL desk I promise. The only likelihood of that happening is the Titans select Ramsey or trade back their pick to the Niners or Eagles who will then take a QB. Cleveland needs to take a QB too. Then if the Chargers pass on Tunsil to go Ramsey, then I see Tunsil making it to us. Plausible scenario but unlikely to happen. How can we be so lucky? Tunsil in my view is the best player in the draft and will be anchoring Flacco's blind side till Flacco retires. Tunsil would be the only guy i'd trade up in this draft for, but no, him and Ramsey will be gone before we can get them...
  11. With will Hill, nick Boyle and asa Jackson all succumbing to failed drug tests recently, I don't know if the FO would seriously consider noah Spence...He is an absolute beast and would be in the top tier of the draft, but would we pull the trigger on a guy who has already failed two drug tests? I've read alot of people pushing to trade #6 and drop back to snag him, but I can't see that...
  12. I'm almost positive Ramsey will be gone by #6, and my thoughts are Jack will also be gone...that would leave Bosa/Buckner, either which would be O.K. with me. Another player who keeps popping up is vernon Hargreaves, who I also would not be dissapointed with should we take him. From what i've been able to gather, he seems like a solid CB, which is a position of need also. I'm just hoping we go with defense, as other than Tunsil I don't see anyone (including Stanley) who can be a real difference maker (than maybe Elliott, which is a whole 'nother discussion...).
  13. Although hes not in the conversation as much, vernon Hargreaves would not be a bad pick at #6. We desperately need us some CB's, and though I would love for it to happen I can't see Ramsey falling to #6. I would doubt noah Spence being there at #36 either, but we can all dream. Nkemdiche, Ogbah and jaylon Smith all sound interesting though.
  14. I really am not all up on the Raven's using the #6 pick on Stanley either...yes he may be a decent OL, but I would not consider him a "stud" either. We need to draft a game changer with this pick, and other than Tunsil there just isn't a blue-chip OL in this draft. There are alot of good ones though, so I would not be surprised to see us take a tackle within the first four rounds. As long as we stay at #6, i'm expecting a defensive player who will come right in and start. And I have been saying that when healthy, Monroe is a good, capable LT. If we picked Stanley at #6, he would be expected to start immediately. I guess we could put him at guard for a year like we did with Ogden, but I just don't see us reaching for a LT when we have more pressing needs on defense. Not to mention that with Flacco coming back from his injury, would you really want an inexperienced rookie protecting his blind side?
  15. I'm predicting at least 1, maybe 2 CB's being drafted by the Raven's, and both probably in the first 4 rounds.
  16. That's one of the reasons we signed Watson and Weddle...Both are strong locker room guys.
  17. I'm more concerned with Monroe...We have some depth at WR, but almost nothing at tackle, When healthy, Monroe is a capable lineman. If his health questions linger we need to probably use a high round pick in this draft, or look at a trade for someone. There have been several names mentioned that may be cut, but can we go into a season without a bona-fide LT? Especially with Flacco coming off an injury?
  18. I think that at least 1, maybe 2 CB's will be taken by the Raven's in this draft, regardless of "best player available" claims.
  19. I like the OT Murphy and CB Canday in the 4th round if they were there. LB scooby wright might be a reach at pick #70 in the 3rd, but if he lasted til the 4th, i'd snag him.
  20. If we go LT , I think he will actually play LG for a year. Monroe has vowed to come back strong and healthy this year. When he plays, he plays decent, probably not ranked as one of the top 15 Left Tackles, but passable. Looking at our current roster, we are definitely adding some help in this draft and maybe even find someone in the June 1st cuts. Rumors circling, have us looking at Cleveland's Thomas and Denver's Clady. This could be just predraft smoke too! I've also heard Ferguson from the Jet's name mentioned...The only way I see any of these guys would be if they were cut - we're not going to trade draft picks, and eat alot of salary - and I don't see the Brown's trading in the division in any case. My guess is we stay with Monroe, who is decent when healthy, and draft a tackle. What round would be anyone's guess, but I do think we pick one somewhere.
  21. My original post was in regard to Tunsil dropping past #3. Regardless of how much the Chargers like a certain defensive player, they would 100% draft Tunsil at 3 if he were there. And frankly, if he got past 3, I would bet we would do whatever it takes to move up and get him. Dallas probably wouldn't take him, but wouldn't surprise me if Jacksonville did. If Tunsil gets past 3, I'd expect to see us try really, really, really hard to move up to #4 and take him. Not a likely scenario, since I seriously doubt he gets past #3 and I still think he's the odds on favorite to go #1. I just can't see Tunsil making it past #3. and as you say i'm thinking him #1 overall. Ditto that Ramsey should also be gone. I'm still betting a QB goes in the top five, which would leave us with Buckner, Bosa or jack still available at #6.
  22. That's why a pass rusher is so important a need for us. The opposing QB's are having to much time to let their underneath guys get open, even when the secondary is covering deep well.
  23. He wouldn't get past 3. Chargers would take him. Most mock drafts have Buckner going to the Chargers and Bosa going to the Cowboys. Let's hope that's not the case or the Ravens trade up to get the game changing pass rusher. I can't see the Raven's trading up. As you think both pass rushers are gone, My thinking is Tunsil, Ramsey and one of the QB's will also be gone, which would leave us in position to snag Jack, Not a bad pick. Course, we don't know who the FO has on their board, nor can anyone know what Cleveland or jerry Jones are thinking. Either of them could pick someone totally unexpected.
  24. Given the rancor between owners/players, it's just not as simple as it probably should be. Letting the coaches talk to players about life-problems sounds so easy, but someone on both sides will look at it as a way to get around off-season prohibitions to discuss football. Remember, with all good ideas there's always someone who screws things up! Hopefully the two sides can work this out and make it happen.
  25. O.K...Pitta-probably done, Gillmore-injured, Williams-unproven, Boyle-suspended, Waller-project who has'nt played TE.....Watson-proven veteran, productive, stand-up locker room leader...Flacco loves to dump passes off to his TE's, and we run ALOT of two TE schemes, so signing Watson makes a lot of sense, and not money wasted. Yes, I would have liked to see D. Smith come back, but we could have signed him regardless of paying Watson...the front office just did'nt seem willing to agree to his price. And while Upshaw was servicable, he was'nt a beast either, which for the money paid the Raven's said see ya.
