  1. If top two spots go QB, i'm still predicting SD-Tunsil, DAL-Bosa/Ramsey, JAX-Jack(or Ramsey if still there.) That would leave either Bosa, Jack and Buckner, who I don't think the Raven's are that high on. I'd put Hargreaves before Buckner. But in any case, i'd pick Bosa or Jack to be there at #6, Ramsey probably gone and Tunsil almost certainly gone. Personally, i'd probably take Bosa, mainly because of Jack's injury history, but would not be upset if we snagged Jack.
  2. Ravens/Steelers will be only game on in that time slot that day, so yes, it is a national game...and yes, I did do a double take when I saw back-to-back weeks in north Jersey. Kinda cool, i'm actually picking us to win at least one of those games.Better than two in a row, twice, out on the west coast! I'm still saying we go 9-7 or maybe 10-6. Don't know if that's good enough to snag a play-off spot...
  3. I'm still saying we go 9-7 or maybe 10-6.
  4. You forgot a prime time game against the Steelers...Still the best rivalry in football, if not any sport. And the NFL knows it.
  5. I"ve wondered about Jerry Jones taking Eliott...I've also figured Dallas would take Bosa or Buckner, but in either scenario Jags would take Ramsey or Jack, leaving us with the other...which I would be happy with either one, or Bosa if he was still there...Personally, i'd probably take Hargreaves over Buckner if it came to that decision.
  6. Ummm...maybe the 3 million it would cost to get him? The fact that we have a lot of depth at safety? That we could use that money to get a veteran LB or CB, which are more pressing needs? The fact that he's a big hitter, but not known for his coverage skills, which our secondary needs? I'm not bashing the guy, I just don't see where he fits in to our plans. If he came in at the veteran minimum, sure, give him a try. Otherwise spend our cash elsewhere...
  7. Actually, 35-1 odds to win the super bowl is pretty respectful from Vegas...I mean, we were 5-11 last season.
  8. Alright my child, get ready for enlightenment, Tunsil obviously is the best prospect and looks to be the best LT coming out since Tyron Smith, but more highly regarded coming out. He is more than ready and he held his own in the SEC against highly touted pass rushers. He literally only gave up 2 sacks in 29 career starts and his nickname is the eraser. C'mon, pretty awesome. He also showed improvement in run blocking and I foresee with his work ethic that he will be elite in that category soon enough. Bosa is as good as advertised. His sack production dipped this year, but his impact didn't according to PFF. He is an elite defender that can set the edge and stonewall the run game. He might not have the explosiveness of a Von Miller Or Mack, but he has all of the other traits that translate to big success in the NFL, which are great hand abilities to disengage blockers, natural lean to obtain constant leverage, high motor so that he can gas out lineman, and instincts that allow him to outsmart his opponents and find ways into the back field. Jack when healthy could do it all even though he was slightly lighter than most pro teams would like, but he has since bulked up a little. He is designed to be a elite coverage ILB that can also show flashes in the run game and arrive with surprising pop and wrapping up abilities. His IQ is off the charts as well and he anticipates plays often. Very high ceiling, but worst case is he either becomes a tremendous safety or is designated as a coverage ILB that allows Mosley to play to his strengths as a run defender and blitzer. Ramsey v. Hargreaves is the most interesting as coming out VH3 is obviously a much more polished CB and has sick ball skills and anticipation to cause turnovers at the next level. He had a few bad games, such as against Alabama, but he has also held his own against other great talents, such as Treadwell. All corners have off days against elite or very good WRs, just look at Chris Harris v. AB, Sherman v. Hilton, Norman v. Julio, etc. Hargreaves high at times might cost him, but his technique and smarts will keep him from ever being a liability, especially since both of our safeties have great coverage abilities to back him up if teams wanted to go over the top often, but even still, Hargreaves has great anticipation that allows him to contest those catches. Ramsey is a converted Safety to CB, but is similar to Patrick Peterson in so many ways. His All-American athleticism keeps him in almost every play and combined with his instincts, he always finds a way to be around the ball. His versatility could present absolute nightmares for coordinators if he doesn't pan out as a strict CB, but with experience and coaching of his technique, Ramsey has the highest ceiling of almost any prospect. I think Hargreaves is deserving of #6 because he will be good, but Ramsey is worth the slight gamble as the best outcome is he joins the elite corner category and our secondary becomes our strength, or he becomes a hybrid that allows Pees to get extra creative and cause confusion at the line, especially since Ramsey is a very good tackler at the line and can also blitz the QB better than any DB in this class. Okay so hopefully you are a little bit more optimistic like the rest of us now! With the Rams taking a QB at pick #1 even if Cle doesn't take a QB we get one of the top 5 field players at #6. My preference is: 1. Ramsey 2. Buckner 3. Jack 4. Bosa 5. Tunsil. Any one of these players should be a day 1 starter and pro-bowl bound. From Ramsey to Bosa if they are on the board take them. If Tunsil is the one left at our pick , then I'd consider a trade down. The Giants at #10 might very trade with us -they need an OT. I'd ask for a 2nd and 3rd in addition to pick #10. At that point Hargreaves and the next wave of DE/OLBs are still on the board. and now we have picks #36, #44 #70 and #80. The tough call is do we pass on Tunsil, is he the next JO or will Monroe kick it in gear and give us a good year or next couple of years. The Ravens are in a good position with the #6 pick. There is no way we'd pass on Tunsil at #6, much less trade back so someone else could take him...basically you'd be giving up what could be the best LT prospect in years for a 2nd & 3rd round pick? Ozzie and co. are not that crazy...
  9. Issue I have with this... 1. I don't believe that we are really even that interested in Buckner. 2. Buckner isn't a pure pass rusher and definitely wouldn't be playing OLB, so he wouldn't be a replacement for Doom/Suggs. Bosa is the only one that has the potential to fit that mold. My money is still on our pick at 6 (if we stay there) being either Bosa, Jack, or Hargreaves. I tend to agree that the Raven's have not shown much interest in Buckner(though that could be a smokescreen). My best guess prediction would be two QB'S going 1-2, SD-Tunsil, DAL-Buckner/ Bosa, JAX-Ramsey...which would leave us with our choice of Jack, Hargreaves and whichever D-lineman DAL doesn't take...not bad options. Even if only 1 QB goes I think we stay at #6 and take Jack or Hargreaves. Even Eliott would not be uber-surprising, but doubtful...the only pick I don't root for would be Stanley, who I personally think is a reach at #6.
  10. While I think Whitner is a decent player, I really don't see us signing him. He would probably cost us 2-3 million, at a position that we have a lot of depth at... I think we will sign a veteran, irregardless of who we draft, at either ILB or CB, maybe both, more than likely after the June 1st cuts. Why spend money on someone unless he drastically improves the position, or adds needed depth, neither of which Whitner does, while LB & CB do need help? and congratulations to Eugene Monroe, be good big daddy!
  11. Even if two QB's go before our pick, I still think it's a long shot to land Tunsil or Ramsey, but not as improbable as it was...even so, we will at least be able to get a top tier defensive player, so i'm happy. I also could still see us trading back, as someone may want to jump ahead of SF to grab a QB...or SF could try to move up a few spots...hard to say with teams so desperate for what I consider a sub-par QB class.
  12. I believe the Raven's have already declared the spot next to Weddle as being open...Elam will get every opportunity to make his case to start, and Webb will have to prove his value at either safety or CB, but Webb does have some skills and i'm sure the Raven's would welcome his versatility(if he can show it)...I do agree that K. Lewis is under a lot of pressure to show he can still play every down, and he should be on the bubble making this team as it is right now.
  13. Tunsil will be gone by pick #6, and I just don't see Stanley as being worthy of that high a pick...maybe if we dropped back some spots, but i'm hoping we can get a defensive starter at #6...I think Jason Spriggs is gone by #36, so we'd have to probably move back up to get him, and if we don't get Ramsey or Hargreaves i'd rather spend our 2nd rounder on a quality CB, which there should still be some around...Kyle Murphy is interesting if we could get him late 3rd/early 4th...
  14. Probably a good chance the Raven's will pick up a veteran LB after the June 1st cuts, even if they pick a LB in the draft. Depends on who's out there and at what price the Raven's would be willing to spend.(not a lot i'd hazard). I doubt if it would be a big name, and they'd probably want someone who was versatile and could play special teams if need be.
  15. I missed the frank Wainright passing...my condolences to his family...
  16. I like your attitude anyways...the AFC north usually gets at least one wild card, but with DEN/OAK/KC in the west and NE/JETS/BILLS in the east, winning the division is the only sure way in. Rothelsburger is starting to get pretty gimpy lately, so maybe they falter without him...Cincy is good, but like to self destruct...I don't know. like I said, 9-7 or 10-6 is my prediction for us IF all goes well. I don't know if that's good enough. I really hope so, cause if we could get in, i'm positive we'd make some noise...
  17. Ill make a bold statement here...i think Cinci goes 8-8 Wow! that is bold, but it would make us getting to the playoffs a lot easier...are you basing it on Berfect and Jones melting down and destroying the team from within, or just don't like Cincy?
  18. And a lot of props to S.Smith Sr...The Raven's always have a lot of classy guys on their roster, but Mr. Smith has proven his commitment not only to football but just being an all around decent human being as well!
  19. Agreed...I think 9-7 or 10-6 are optimistic results. Given the strength of our division making the play-offs is going to be a challenge. Hopefully the injury bug bites someone else this year, preferably Pitt or Cincy!
  20. Tunsil won't be there at #6...PFF is just yanking our chain...If he WAS still there, Raven's fans should get down on their knees and thank God that he's giving them a blue-chip stud that will anchor our o-line for the next ten years or so...
  21. The Raven's should be cautious about this upcoming season...to many question marks not only on the injury front, but we still have a few holes in our roster...can we draft the right guys to come in and start? How many will we start, and how many will be prospects? Yeah, we lost some close games last year,(including one that the NFL admitted we should have won!) but we also looked bad and got thumped more than a few times, and against teams we would have normally beat. That being said, i'm optimistic we can win 9-10 games this season. The schedule is not overwhelming, we won't have to travel like we did last year, and I think last year was more a fluke than a permanent slide. But would 9-7 or even 10-6 get us into the play-offs?
  22. If he's restructured his contract, and can prove he can still be productive, I say give the man a shot...if the team decides he's not up to par, they can cut him after June 1st. I don't see the downside of having him participate in the offseason work-outs.
  23. Yeah, anything COULD happen, but Ramsey falling into our laps ain't gonna be one of them. Dude is just to highly rated.
  24. If Tunsil were there at #6, we would pick him ahead of every single defensive player in this draft. Amen.
  25. If we don't get Ramsey(who I think will be gone)or Hargreaves(I don't know how much the FO likes him)at #6, I would'nt mind getting a CB at #36...I think eli Apple will probably be gone but kendall fuller may still be around...cyrus jones is an Alabama guy, so Ozzie could look at him, or will Redmond from rival Mississippi state could be an option. In any case, i'd like to see us add another starting CB, and this could be a good spot to snag one.
