  1. Other than QB, this draft has a lot of talent in it...most teams will be able to get quality starters into the 3rd round, or at least very capable back ups. Jaylon Smith, who is a VERY talented player, will miss at least this season and may possibly NEVER play a down in the NFL. I don't think you'll see any team pass on guys who can help them now just to get someone who has that big a question mark. I agree with the article that he could be there in the 4th round, and I could see the Ravens taking a chance on him. I just feel sorry that someone with so much potential has had such a devastating injury, and wish him the best no matter what happens.
  2. Another possibility I keep hearing is that the Titans would still like to get Tunsil...would we trade back to 15th to get another 2nd rounder? And maybe more, if they want him that badly?
  3. If Tunsil is there, you take him. Period. Only way you'd question that would be if something real crazy happened and Tunsil AND Ramsey were there. Then you would have a real difficult decision...
  4. That's the real issue..The Ravens medical staff. They probably don't even know what knee is in question on Jack. However, I do think he's off the board at 6, too risky. Bosa and Buckner don't have the skill set they desire neither is the twitchy guy that can turn the corner sideways. I do think Bosa is a Suggs type of player and is a better fit than Buckner. If neither is available it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they selected Hargreaves at 6. The thought of going into 2016 with Shareece being #2 is basically forgoing the season. Well, I don't think we'd be "forgoing the season" with Wright, but I think the Ravens do draft 1-2 CBs. Pretty certain Ramsey will be gone, but there are a lot of CBs projected to go in late 1st/early 2nd. Good place to grab one. I am high on Hargreaves, but I think if Tunsil is there we snatch him quick. Bosa or Jack we would consider, or maybe trade back a few spots, get some more picks and get Hargreaves. Pretty happy with any of these scenarios. And I don't understand the knock on the Ravens medical staff...another person mad about Perriman?
  5. The four 4th rounders we have are also very interesting. If Jaylon Smith is still there we could afford to take a risk and draft him. Yes, he would not play this season, and quite possibly never play a snap in the NFL...but if he CAN recover, the guy is an absolute beast! And talk about someone coming back with something to prove! We could also draft a QB in the 4th, someone we could develop over time. Last year proved that Flacco is not indestructible. Oh, i'm hoping Joe is our starter for many years to come, but grooming a back-up is a need. Ryan Mallet played well for us last year, and is more than capable, but after this year he's going to want a chance to start...a 4th rounder on a project QB would not be a waste. Another option would be using one of our 4th's in a trade to maybe move up a few spots from #36. I don't think we will get Ramsey, so CB will definately be on our radar. There are alot of quality CB's projected late 1st/early 2nd round, If the right guy is there we have ammo to move up a few spots. If Noah Spence is still around they could do the same. I know two of our 4th's are comp picks, but two are tradeable. Alot of options.
  6. If we draft Tunsil, he will not be sitting behind anyone. Monroe would be cut, or maybe traded (doubtful). We could also keep him and let him play RT and bump Wagner to one of the guards spots. Tunsil is one of the best Tackle prospects to come out of the draft in a long time, he would not be a waste of a rare high pick. Agreed Tunsil would not sit. I don't think we would get rid of Monroe either. My guess would be that Tunsil would be brought in like Ogden: put him at LG for a year and let him gain NFL experience, and if Monroe is injured or inconsistent, slide him over to tackle. Of course, we have to wait and see what SD does. They could take Ramsey and that would probably leave Tunsil there at #6. ( I don't see DAL or JAX going LT) In any case, the only player i'm pretty sure will be gone is Ramsey. So it's all still up in the air, other than we will have the opportunity to draft a real blue-chip player.
  7. They've got RGIII for a year, still stink, draft high again next year when theres some really good QBs coming out of college. wow. I'm actually thinking the Browns are smartening up...NAH!!!
  8. All the news on ESPN this morning was about Cleveland trading their #2 pick...even in a pretty dismal QB draft it seems a lot of teams are feeling desperate to get a QB. Interesting to see just how big a run could be, and what teams are willing to give up. For the right deal it would'nt surprise me if the Ravens drop back...
  9. I'm kinda curious about how our WR roster is going to play out...we have Smith, Wallace, Aiken and Perriman as givens to make the roster, Butler, Campanaro, Clay, D. and M. brown, Waller, who their trying to convert to TE. (would they keep him on the roster if he can't cut it at TE? Put him on practice squad?) And thats not accounting they may draft a WR also. It seems we really do need a return specialist. They keep trying Campanaro, but he just dosn't seem comfortable. Clay had a decent showing at times last year-would he beat out Campanaro, who hasn't shown much of anything-but the Ravens seem to like? Or do we draft a rookie with some speed and toss him out there? Yeah, I know with the injuries to Smith and Perriman we need to keep some depth at WR, but how many do we carry into the season? six? seven? Other than the four guys who are locks ( and two of them coming off injuries), it looks pretty muddled with not a lot of guys you would trust.
  10. Buckner is one of the only top guys the Ravens never brought in for a pre-draft interview...may be smoke and mirrors, but they really havn't shown much interest in him. I am kinda surprised that Hargreaves is ranked #18 in the PFF draft board, and #12 on their Ravens board. They also have William Jackson III rated above him on both boards. Most mock drafts i've seen have Jackson going mid to later 1st...anyone know why the jump here?
  11. That's why their "color rush", so teams can try something different. Although to be honest, I thought most of them were horrible. Hopefully the Ravens can pull off using MD state flag colors, but if their anything like those horrid uniforms we wore against KC I may have to turn off the TV and listen to them on the radio.UGLY!!!
  12. Give up the #6 pick, the highest pick we've had in years and hopefully the highest we'll have for years to come...for a late 1st, a late 2nd and a couple mid rounders next year? Thanks, but i'd rather take a chance on a possible pro bowl starter.
  13. Kudos to the Ravens for instituting this program. Once again showing they are one of the classiest organizations in the NFL. Preventive injury identification is not totally new, but i'm happy the Ravens are seriously being proactive in keeping the health of its players a priority.
  14. That's what I was thinking as well. Especially when we start talking about trading back, it makes a lot of sense. If we don't trade back, expect heavy deffense early on, but if we do than I could see us mixing a bit with a 2nd round receiver...only immediate spot I think we really need to upgrade besides LT. Personally hoping Tunsil or Ramsey falls to us. If not than I would vote on trading back even if Jack is there. We would scoop up Tunsil or Ramsey in a heartbeat. Bosa might be to good to turn down also, and I personally have been getting higher on Hargreaves, although you might be able to drop back a few spots and still get him. I know the FO says " best player available " but you have to figure we need CB, ILB and pass rush help, and with seven picks in the first four rounds you figure these needs will be addressed. Sure, there will be some surprises, but CB is almost desperately thin, and we need some pressure on opposing QBs.
  15. Forsett-older veteran coming off serious injury/Taliafierro-injury prone, more of a goal line scrambler/Allen-has shown flashes, young & unproven/Magee-practice squad, unproven/West-never able to establish himself, kinda like Richardson, except not as high a draft pick. yeah, we have a lot of RB's, but all have questions. Richardson is an ultimate no risk/high reward signing. It will be hard for him to make this team, however, so he's gonna have to really shine or hope we get riddled with injuries. And if the Raven's draft a RB, Forsett and Allen may be the only guys mentioned with a roster spot.
  16. If done right, incorporating the MD flag could be a great uniform design...I don't know if anything could be worse than those hideous yellow-pants uniforms they wore last year. Frankly, I was embaressed, and had to hear about it from Squeelers fans at work. Those uniforms just may have been worse than Pitts bumble-bee unis...I'm no fashion guru, but the MD flag is pretty unique, and if done right could be a stand-out design our team would want to wear.
  17. I think the Raven's will probably draft a LB in the 3rd to 5th round, especially with four picks in the 4th. If there is someone they consider really out-standing they would draft higher.( Jack would be tempting if still there at #6, but his injury concerns may scare a lot of teams away.) I also would assume that we will look hard at players released after the June 1st roster cuts. Ozzie is a master (usually) at finding good value veteran signings. I'm not sure which players are expected to be released, but I see us bringing in somebody, although I doubt it would be anyone flashy...
  18. Haters gonna hate. Where is the downside in bringing in a guy who was once a top prospect? Maybe Richardson just needs to be with a class organization that's committed to winning. We don't lose anything by signing him. Absolutely no risk and a possible reward. And we were 5-11 last year because of multiple injuries,a brutal schedule and, yes, some poor drafting the last few years...not because we signed some guy that could still have some potential.
  19. I've said before that I think Tunsil and Ramsey will be gone by #6. If by some strange twist one of them is there, I am pretty positive we'd grab them in a heartbeat. If both are gone, the FO will probably listen to trading back, but I would imagine not more than 4-6 spots back. ( i've been hearing rumors of trading with the Jets, which I can't see where we'd get enough to move out of #6. )
  20. Ozzie showing his fondness for his alma mater once again...no risk signing however, and the guy just might revert back to the player he was in college. I hope he takes full advantage of the chance the Raven's are giving him. Good luck Mr. Richardson, prove the doubters wrong.
  21. I agree. This schedule seems a lot easier than last year, maybe not competitive wise, but definately travel wise. The two trips out west last year were just brutal. The so-called "softer" part of our schedule comes early in the season also. While I don't think you can ever say a part of a pro football season is easy, we only have 1 division game in the 1st eight. If we can get into the right groove, we can be in a good position down the strech.
  22. I just really hate Thursday night games, and every player i've ever heard on television, radio or the internet says the same thing, with the possible exception of Thanksgiving day games. Thursday night games are an obvious NFL money grab. The league says it cares about player safety, then makes them go out and play on short rest? Really? I dare someone to find me one player who likes Thursday games.
  23. Personally, I don't care for prime time games anyways...I really don't like to stay up past midnight and then have to get up early next morning. Not to mention i'm usually jacked about the game and can't sleep til 1 or 2 in the morning! Prime time games are just a matter of pride, which no matter what, i'm proud of my Ravens. I don't care what someone in the mid-west thinks about the Ravens, so long as we are a good, competitive football team that year in and year out tries its best to compete for championships.
  24. Either would be great but I'm leaning towards Jack to help seal up the middle of the field (not convinced Brown/Orr are ready to replace Smith) but gut feeling says the FO would go bosa over Jack and draft a ilb later in draft I agree with the need for ILB help. While we probably will draft a LB somewhere in this draft, I would not be surprised if we sign a veteran LB after the June 1st cuts.
