  1. I would be happy with any of the DE's listed on this page. Seeing how we passed on Tunsil, I don't know if the FO is interested in Spence, although the situation is a little different. Biscotti said he wanted to improve our pass rush, here's a great position to do it.
  2. Agreed. If he can work on his run blocking techniques, he could develop into a perennial all star. he definately has all the tools.
  3. I never understand people who advocate losing on purpose just to get higher draft picks. As if fostering a losing mentality helps your team. "yeah, you guys stink. go out and lose some games so we can draft guys better than you." And I guess when your trying to bring in free agents its always nice to show them your "losing culture." You can always tell the armchair coaches from people who've actually played competitive sports.
  4. He could be a deciding factor if he keeps Flacco off his back during games...besides which, there were no dominant pass rushers or CB's that I saw who rated higher than Stanley on anybody's board. And there are plenty of good DE,OLB and CB left that rate as well, or pretty close to guys taken mid to late first round. And as for the Cleveland comparision...that's just laughable dude.
  5. Remember Harbaugh is on the draft selection along with Ozzie, Eric, and Joe. Since the SuperBowl and Ray Lewis retirement the team has been on a clean image cleanse so the rowdy, tough, mean players are no longer on our board, guys like Burfict would have been a Raven before Harbaugh won the SuperBowl. Time will tell, but we are not the same trying to go this Mr Clean route. It sounds as though you think this direction is a bad one. Burfict while a good player, has cost his team big at critical times. I can also remember dealing with similar issues of players trying to be bullies instead of just make the play and cost them 15 penalties at the worst time. Toughness is only good and beneficial when you can control it. Anything else is just a ticking timebomb. Well said. I liked Bart Scott when he was here, but it seemed everytime we would make a big stop, the ref's would throw a flag because he did something stupid. I think the Ravens definately are always on the look out for tough nosed, passionate ball players, they just want guys that use there heads also.
  6. Ironic that you say "trade back with the Titans", who were picking at 15, and then you list a bunch of players who were drafted before #15. Lawson went to Chicago, and Hargreaves went to TB. Lawson was the only guy available, who I generally like, but isn't likely be a premier pass rusher. I'm not sure he fits great as a 3-4 OLB. Ironic you try to correct someone and do not get your facts straight. Lawson was drafted by the Bills. Internet is great if you missed the draft. Lawson would have fit a 3-4 OLB just fine. He plays standing up and hand in the dirt. He is literally very similar to Suggs and has more moves than many other pass rushers from this years draft. If they had traded back to #15 he was the best choice talent and value wise. When Lawson was drafted, the studio guys said he had a tendancy to be frustrated at times. They then showed a clip of him being dominated by...Ronnie Stanley! Not a sexy pick, but a solid one.
  7. i wouldn't take jones till the third and Ragland is a huge liability in pass coverage. I agree that Jones is to much of a reach at #36...But I think you may be a little harsh on Ragland being a "huge" liability against the pass. Yes, he is a dominant run stuffer but he's actually not horrible on tackling receivers, and I think he could be taught better techniques on how to cover better. I would not be upset if we took him with our second pick.
  8. HA-HA! Your dog probably does have the same chance of a prediction as any expert... Buckner would be a safe, but unspectacular pick. I'd probably rather see them trade back a few spots and get another pick or two. I don't think Spence will be there at our #2 pick, and someone will grab Jaylon Smith way before the 6th round, injuries or not.
  9. Let's hope we look back on this draft as one of our best!
  10. I don't know why Zrebiec says the Ravens are trying to get 4 starters in the 4TH round...Decosta said we need to get SOME starters from the 4TH, which if you look at the % numbers, its 25% likely you can get a starter in round four. That would equate that odds are we may get at least one player worthy of starting, and I think Decosta is hoping we could get two guys at least who are good enough. I don't think anyone is expecting to hit on all four picks. I am curious what we will do with those picks. If Jalen Smith were still around, i'd drop one on him, but that is probably unrealistic. Two of the picks are tradeable, so that is always a possibility to move a couple spots if we feel the need. I do agree with Decosta that we need to really do our homework here, because as much as our higher picks mean, if we screw up these mid round picks our draft won't look that sweet.
  11. Boy do I hope he does slide to us... and I guess that could happen... (Chargers taking Tunsil, Cowboys taking Zeke and Jags taking Jack) that is possible but I really don't like our chances. I really do think that If it did... you and I would be doing some backflips! Lets hope... (another scenario that could cause Ramsey to fall to us is another trade- which is possible)~! I don't think he will be at #6 either...but if he is, I think it would be hard for the Ravens brass not to rush the stage and snag him!
  12. We would have to have all the cards fall just right to grab Ramsey...I just don't see it happening, but if he was still there I am pretty sure Baltimore would snatch him in a heartbeat. He's probably the most versatile and athletic guy in this draft.
  13. Haven't there been some issues with Shaq Lawson getting in trouble also? I seem to remember hearing something about him, but I am not sure...
  14. OH, and you could throw Zeke Eliot in there with best player available, but I don't know if the Ravens would seriously take him...
  15. My worry: SD-Tunsil, DAL-Bosa, JAX-Ramsey....Which leaves us with Jack as best player available. Gotta admit his injuries scare me. That would leave Buckner, Stanley and Hargreaves as good, but I don't think exceptional, consolation picks.
  16. I don't mind Downing"s draft, it has some interesting players, and a few i've considered pretty good choices. plus it fills some of the holes we have, with Bosa and Burns stepping into starter positions, while Shepard, Wright and Beavers competing for quality playing time. I would consider Mink's draft a disaster. I like Jack, if he can stay healthy. Do we need another questionable 1st round injury pick though? Most of his picks fall into the developmental mode, "well, he MAY be good..." although the guard from LSU sounds good. Some key words he uses: Doesn't make a ton of sense...Doesn't jump off the radar with his athleticism...Season ending knee injury...Production dropped a bit...Yeah, o.k. glad Mink isn't in our FO.
  17. Excluding Tunsil, my defensive picks would be Ramsey 1st, Bosa 2nd, then Hargreaves. I'm pretty sure Ramsey will be gone. There may be uncertainty about which position he would play, but the guys a rare physical specimen. I'm still pretty high on Bosa, as we already play a kinda modified 3-4 anyways. Trust me, we'd find a way to utilize his skills. I really like Hargreaves. The fact that Mel Kiper does not consider him "elite" is just his opinion, not any kind of fact. He may be a bit of a stretch at #6 admittedly, which is why my board would be Ramsey, then Tunsil, then Bosa. I'm hopeful one of them would still be available.
  18. I still see a team trying to jump into picks 3-6 to land a QB before SF is on the clock. Not that it will happen, but my guess is at least a few will try.
  19. This would be a really hard decision...you would still be getting a good player at #15, and if we could get two extra 2nd rounders...not as sexy as picking #6, but I wonder if the FO would pull the trigger or try to get a little more from Tenn? That is, if Tenn. would even offer us two 2nd round picks...
  20. But I didn't say it couldn't happen... I send its not realistic to think it would happen. You yourself said it... its fantasizing. I prefer not to fantasize, because I don't get the point or the accomplishment in doing so. My bad on wording...I seriously doubt it could happen, but i've seen some weird stuff go down on draft day...
  21. And an educated guess could be we trade back a few spots, get some extra picks, and pick Hargreaves. And as I said, no one can possibly know where Spence will be drafted. so he COULD be there at #36. Or he could be there where it may not cost us a lot to move up a few spots. I don't know, and neither does anyone else. Improbable? sure. Impossible? no. So to say "this can't happen" is like saying "the Eagles won't move up because they really don't need a QB." And as we saw, it did happen.
  22. I'd say borderline impossible. I'm not sure you could guarantee getting Spence unless you moved into the top 20, and that'll cost more than giving up a second rounder plus some mid-round picks. I agree that it's highly unlikely. Spence could easily go in the mid 1st to anywhere in the beginning of the 2nd. But hey, you can always fantasize about such things. Any one who says they know what team is picking what player has never watched the draft. Educated guesses are the best you can do.
  23. I've seen Ochi's name mentioned in numerous discussions and mock drafts. I also believe that he has been brought in to meet with the Ravens. As for his size, the Ravens have drafted plenty of guys who were said to be undersized.(Ray Lewis anyone?) It depends on his motivation and desire to be an outstanding player as much as his physicality.
  24. Yes, I really like that also. But how far back can we trade and still get Hargreaves? And how much do we need to move up to get Spence? Great scenario, but would be real tricky to pull off.
  25. I'm hoping Richardson really takes advantage of the opportunity Baltimore has given him. It will be tough to make this team, but with Forsett's injury last year and Talliafaro seemingly always banged-up it might not be impossible if he has a good showing. Forsett and Buck Allen are the only two guys I consider 'locks' to make this team, so who knows? I still believe we take Ramsey first if he is there(unlikely), then Tunsil if he's there(possibly). I know Stanley, and Conklin also are moving up on draft boards, but Tunsil is a beast. It would be foolish to pick one of these other guys if he's there at #6. If both are gone I believe we look at Bosa, or try trading back a few spots and grab Hargreaves or maybe Stanley then.
