Lol, can you just change the thread name to the Joe Flacco Steaming Pile? Tough Talk just doesn't cover it anymore.
I am a big proponent of getting the sideline and goaline cameras involved. Have to have all the angles covered.
I also believe they should have another ref in the booth to assist with calls on the field, not just for review. There are way to many missed calls that are blatant penalties where a ref in the booth should relay the call to the field.
I can understand and agree with the teams stand on DV. I also don't feel this team is just trying to bring in "choir boys". It makes no sense. No one here truly knows the amount of time that goes into evaluating players and if someone is passed by, it's because there was something seen in their play that turned the team off.
There are always going to be players that all 32 teams will pass on multiple times and will go on to becoming big stars in the league. It happens every year.

Exactly! It's easy to just throw away 47.3m over the next 4 years for some rocket surgeons on here.

I'm just talking about value and how I think things might go because of course we don't know what will happen once the market opens. But I agree, unless the Ravens cut some guys early and BW doesn't price himself out I don't see both retained either.
What I'll say about 10M, as you just said all it takes is one team. BW already suggested he won't be giving the Ravens any type of hometown discount and he's widely viewed as the best NT in the NFL. Hell even the Ravens called him the best NT which doesn't help in negotiations lol. Why is the money Harrison got above the mark Bwill would get? I think the Ravens will do what they can to keep BW, but at what cost? If Williams cost 8M per it's certainly worth it and I'd be happy. However with cap numbers going up and there are some pretty poor rush defenses that have a ton of money, Williams could easily get 10+M imo. Again I hope he doesn't because I don't think the Ravens can afford to pay him that much. It's not because he's not worth it, but more because that's just not great value at the NT position. I think it's certain positions that the Ravens have a quiet confidence about being able to replace and I think NT is one of them.
As far as Wagner goes. I just saw a report on NFL.com that Wagner could get north of 10M and I definitely wasn't expecting that. Would show that i completely know nothing lol. As far as the LG position, you talk about finding a LG who can play at a high level alongside of Stanley, the thing is the Ravens seem to think Alex Lewis is that guy. He's not just at LG as a last option or because it's no one better to fill the position. The Ravens see him as a potential top level LG and he'd pair with Stanley to build a dominate left side for years to come. I just don't see the Ravens thinking the RT isn't important enough to re-sign Wagner but they'll put a guy there who they think is already showing signs of being as good as KO? Even if the Ravens can't afford Wagner, I think Lewis stays at LG and they attack RT either through the draft or even in house with Jensen which is his natural position.
I feel the Ravens think they have two really strong young olineman on the left side moving forward and Roman or whoever takes over as olineman coach will be extremely happy with those two. The only change I see at oline is at Center, assuming of course that Wagner doesn't price himself out.
I feel that due to BWill and Wagner both being ranked in the free agent top 25, it will play hard on us retaining them. Especially considering they are both listed as the #1 free agents at their positions. Now of course, all that may change as cap cuts from other teams are made but, I still believe it will drive their price up beyond what our team feels they can afford imo.
I would expect that the team will do something this season in memory of David as they have with everyone we have lost. Hopefully it is something significant since so much of his imprint is in this franchise.

I might be willing to package our #1 and #2 to move up but only if he is "That Guy". We don't need any additional roster fillers like Correa, Arthur Brown, and other whiffs from the #2 and #3 spots on the board.
Agreed. Again based on the NFL draft value chart, our 1 and 2 together would get us in the top 10 to around #8. That's in range of a true impact player but like you said, it needs to be "That Guy".
Blueprint is easy to me (relatively
Let Williams, Aiken, and Juice leave....Aiken needs to leave.
Cut quite a few veterans/ under performers = 20+ mil in cap space
Sign Wagner. Lewis plays Guard. Draft a center in the 2nd or 3rd= our line is excellent and set for years
Sign Cyphrien. Bump Weddle to FS= our run game gets a lot better as well as FS play. That would be a stellar safety combo and Cyphrien won't break the bank
Draft a corner in the first=our secondary is set for years
SIgn a vet wr-(pryor,Wright, Jeffery) and draft on ein the 2nd or 3rd
Use 4th and 5ths on pass rushers
BOOM. We're set for February ball
Just curious as to why you want them to let Juice leave?
We likely are going to receive a 3rd round comp pick for KO. Thoughts on packaging that pick and our #1 to move up to increase our odds of getting an impact player?
Based on the NFL draft value chart, our #1 and a 3rd round comp packaged together would allow us to move up approximately 2 spots, from #16 to #14.

It won't matter, they'll just complain about Flacco in every other thread. I'd say just leave it alone and stop responding to them. Eventually they will tire of being the only ones commenting in this thread.
Obviously, the man touched many hearts. Rest in peace David.
Congrats to Mosley and Stanley for making the top 25 players under 25. I expect to see more accolades for these two as their careers progress.
Maybe, lightning will strike again and another cap casualty will become available. We need to help ourselves out of this position we are always in by continuing to draft quality receivers in the early rounds until we find the right mix, just like other teams do.
Dennison would be a great addition. I like having some guys who have actually been OCs and understand the adjustments that need to be made during the game. Also not just veterans, but guys who have been good at their crafts. For that reason, Dennison, Roman and Marty should perform much better next year in making adjustments to what defenses are throwing at us.
We need to let Wagner and Williams walk. We have been consistently drafting good players along that D-line. Carl Davis, Jernigan, Pierce, Urban, Guy, Henry, Kafusi, and I'm sure more to come can make up that slack. I like Lewis at RT because I think we need to get bigger at LG and C to run better. They will bring comp picks next year anyway.
You would let Wagner walk? By doing so at present, you would be letting the #1 top ranked free agent tackle in the NFL leave which creates another spot we have to fill with an unknown. Also, who knows if Lewis can even handle the RT position. Has anyone seen him perform there?
How much bigger of a left guard do you want? At 6'6" & 315 they don't come much bigger than Lewis.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to see him play under our colors and in our house. Damn did those three years go by too fast.
David was a man who knew how important we fans are to this team. Thank you David for helping to bring this franchise here and making us champions again.
This is sad news for us all. David was a good person who had an enormous amount of affection for this organization and us fans. He has left us way to soon. My deepest condolences to family and friends.

I think the decision is more up to McDermott than Frazier.
3 minutes ago, The Mom Gene said:They'll not let Reed go. He'll be promoted to the Secondary's coach in Buffalo. Watch.....
Not too sure about that one Mom. With a new HC coming in, it's not uncommon to see the whole staff scrapped, allowing McDermott to choose his own staff. Now if Reed had ties to McDermott or Frazier, I could see it as a possibility but, since he doesn't, I suspect he'll be left on the outside.
I'm really bummed by losing Frazier. I felt he did wonders for our secondary this season. Can't blame him for taking a DC position though, especially with a HC he's already familiar with. Surprised McDermott didn't go the distance and take the last former Eagles coach we have left. ![]()

And we could've blocked the Castillo move if we wanted. It's a lateral move. Unless his contract was up. But either way it tells me we weren't bringing him back.
Yeah I researched his contract yesterday and found he was only signed through 2016.
I'm excited about Roman coming here and can't wait to see what he does with the Oline once we restock it.
Why TE's coach and not OL coach? Doesn't seem to make sense considering Castillo is leaving.
I'm surprised no one has suggested McDermott take Harbs as well, lol. I hate seeing Frazier leave after only one season here. He definitely helped the D become a better unit while here.

I really don't care which team makes the super bowl at this point. As long as it ends with a NFC win, I'll be happy.
