  1. I couldn't tell you a thing about that part of Baltimore, but it sounds like things are alright in the spot he's picked. But going by my relationship with my own parents, I've always appreciated how they're happy to step back and let me do my own thing. Their opinions have always been noted (more so of late), but at the end of the day it's my life and my business what goes on.

Personally I don't see anything wrong with voicing a concern, but it sounds like his response is fair play too.

Thanks. I appreciate the views of everyone that has replied. Can't begin to say how much it helps with my concerns as I want to support him in everything.

  2. Thanks guys!

He has chosen Camden Courts, corner of Lombard & Howard Streets across from the Arena parking garage. He has a good head on his shoulders and it's not him I'm concerned with. It's not the worse area downtown but there's little security outside or around his building at night, especially with having to cross from the garage. Guess I'm just being a little over protective.

  3. Wow, this has been a head spinning weekend for me loaded with extreme highs & lows.

On Friday, I was offered a highly lucrative position with a company from Ohio operating in southern MD. It's a great opportunity with a chance for me to learn another side of the electrical industry. The only downside being that I have to stay there 4 nights a week due to the travel distance, but the money well makes up for the time away from home.

On Saturday, my only son informed us he is moving out. Although I am happy for him to start his own life, I am torn on his decision where to live. He has chosen an apartment in a high rise downtown within an 8 minute walk to his job. I understand him wanting to be close to work and him wanting to enjoy some of the nightlife in Fells Point & Federal Hill, still I have my concerns with the area and all the recent events. When I expressed them, he told me it is not my decision to make.

Am I wrong for voicing my concerns and wanting the best for him?

  4. I couldn't help but laugh at this. Per PFT, NFL will discuss selling tickets in L.A. before any confirmed move to city.

This had me laughing as well. Money grubbing  ...

The only way to express interest is by sending us money in advance without knowing which team or when and where a stadium is to be built. You can put your mind at ease that your hard earned money will be put to good use making money for the NFL while you patiently wait for the stadium to be built. Rest assured, should you have a change of heart. the money is 100% refundable.

Yeah, right. Thanks, but no thanks.

  5. Former Raven, Damion Cook, passed yesterday at the age of 36 of a heart attack.

Signed by Baltimore as a UDFA and released in 2001 is best known by fans for his rookie skit of Ray Lewis during an episode of "Hard Knocks".

Resigned by the Ravens, played in 13 games between 2002 - 2004.

It's hard to see someone pass so young. My condolence goes out to his family and friends.

  6. Would do that in a second. BUT she would never leave my sister (more specifically, my sisters son who has basically grown up with my folks as his parents due to him having no relationship with his father and my sister being an on and off loser). So, I'd have to buy them a place as well and then also still have to put up with my sisters BS, ha. Not to mention I'd wake up every morning to my old man already on my boat.

Sounds like we could swap families and not much would change. You have to do what's right for your immediate family. If being in Destin makes you & yours the happiest, that's where you need to be. Your extended family will understand. Plus, you are only a short plane ride away. Just make it a point once a quarter to come back or bring your folks down.

  7. Okay, so entirely the wrong place to go for real life advice (don't take offense) but I really want to relocate and move to Destin Florida (Panhandle) full time. I have a condo here and my house back in Maryland. Most importantly and should have been mentioned first, I am a huge mama's boy. I would feel like I am abandoning my mother, BUT my family and I LOVE it here!

    Thoughts?

Sell the house here, buy a 2nd condo and move Mom down with you.
