The home game last year against McCown was, without doubt, the low point of the Raven's 20 year history. I think our boys may feel the same way and have plans to do something to erase that debacle.

Guessing you missed losing to the 0-13 Phins in 2007.

Tank, you know that was a gimme game. That was the price we paid to get Cams' unbelievable offensive strategy here after he was fired in Mia.

after hearing about the backup RT thats gonna be starting(his name escapes me atm) im gonna say that one of zds or judon has a huge game and really bursts onto the scene. im gonna pick ZDS over judon though because of his impressive strength and burst combination, i think hes the type who could really take advantage of a bad OT by just being the superior athlete and bullying him for 4 quarters. i expect judon to come on a little slower because he is much less of a specimen, even if he is more refined and has that natural hand and footwork. i wont count judon out though, he surprised me all through preseason id be glad to be surprised again, i like both of our strongside rushers in this game a lot, i expect a lot of wreckage to come from the right side for all 4 quarters.

Outside of Dixon and Dumervil, the other 5 inactives are a crap shoot.

So I will say; Moore, Hurst, Henry, Carter, and I think Powers, since he is still hurt.

I agree, with the exception of Henry. I don't see us going with less than 6 DL. I think it may be Canady for this week. I was hoping to see Moore go only because I  want to see a 3 wide with him, Perriman & Wallace but I don't see us going 6 WR active.

Hester averaged over 330 receiving yards over his 10 yrs. In 2014 with the Falcons he had over 500. I'd say that's fairly meaningful. 2015 he was hurt.

Nobody's ever really considered him a receiver though. They tried to make him the No. 1 receiver in the Bears offense for a couple years but he's always been more of a gadget player than a receiver. We probably could have stuck him with a DB number here, he won't get any meaningful Offensive snaps at this point in his career with his injuries.

You may be right since he hasn't learned our playbook yet. At some point he may have to be used in case of injury considering I wouldn't expect them dress 6 WR's often.

Why can't Hester get his 7 back especially since Mallett goes to 15? Is it not allowed for WRs?

Yeah, receivers need to be between 10-19 or 80-89. He was able to pull off 23 because he was a cornerback in college and didn't really have a position when he was drafted. Guess he was able to keep it because he hasn't played meaningfully as a receiver during most of his career.

Kinda strange to even worry about numbers for Campanaro and Elam. I doubt they see the field unless it comes late in the year due to injury.

I'd like to see Hester wear number 7, symbolic of the number of points he'll put up plus the extra point he sets up, from his return game skills. Best part is it is available.

You won't see Campanaro at any time this year. He is on IR and was NOT on the final 53 so he is not eligible to return and play this year at all. Elam or Carl Davis were on the final 53 and then put on IR when they signed Hester and recalled Forsett. After all, after the great play Elam has produced since he has been here he wasn't worth cutting for Butler, and we had to risk our #1 back just to keep him. I guess he has pictures of someone in a compromising position because he has done nothing, absolutely nothing on the field to justify a roster spot. Yet, here he is, sucking up a roster spot that could have belonged to a playmaker. But NFL Front Offices don't like to admit they made a first round blunder so they drag the player along, year after year, hoping he does something that they can point at and say, see, we told you so. In Elam's case, they are going to be waiting a long time to say that.

If you watch Harb's presser from Tues., he said Camp was "released, injured" and is now a "free agent" 10:40 mark. He went on to say they would love to get him back but they have to wait a minimum of 3 weeks by rule or until he is fully healthy.

We were beating the SB Champs before Suggs went down. When a young D loses its leader, its swagger and arguably most productive player thats tough to over come. They werent prepared to overcome that loss. The pass rush suffered a horrible domino effect, which made all subsequent players less effective and made an underwhelming secondary worse. Which then forced a 1st year OC running an offense not his to play come from behind, one dimensional football that didnt suit our strengths especially since we had no explosive deep threat.

We then went on to lose more and more important playmakers almost every week from then on. Yet, the team got better as the season wore on. The defense was always going to have to stabilize the team early in the season as Flacco and O learned Trestman, and Trestman learned them and Kubes offense/players strengths. that went out the window after 2 1/2 quarters of football, where the plan was working against the best team in the NFL.

And as pointed out Dalton only missed a couple games at the end. They were already a lock. Ben missed a few games, mid season with plenty of time left to recover and save the season. Bell missed the playoffs.... and they lost. The Steelers struggled without Ben, and early/late without Bell. Fortunately for them their guys werent lost for the season and were able to recover, or withstand the brunt to sneak in to the playoffs.

And it only serves my point more. When Dalton was there the Bengals did enough in 12-14 games to be playoff locks. A couple games wihtout him and they couldnt keep it going.

Without Ben the Steelers are nothing, when he returned they once again became a playoff contender.

We're not only getting our equivalent to returning Dalton or Ben with Flacco.... we're returning about 10 other of our most talented, veteran leaders... which logically should return us to -------- you guessed it ----- playoff contention. Right where we were before the losses started.

Man... do you realize you took up 1.5 pages of this thread just today, lol. Kidding aside, we all should be wearing purple shades this time of year. Just some need to clean theirs to see a little clearer.

what the hell was he doing last season then?

we had one deep threat - and he was a rookie, we had gotten away with it ever since jacoby left because some how torrey managed to stay healthy - probably cos hes soft as and avoids contact at any and all opportunities

think last season was a real wake up call for the Front Office - getting a little complacent - we started being a trendy superbowl pick - 2 players went down, not having perriman start really hurt us and then Sizzle - just unraveled from there

looks like he learnt (the hard way) can never have enough options

given that we went 4-0 through the preseason - this clearly speaks to the depth we have assembled

I think the fact that Perriman went down really helped to open their eyes to the limitations forced by not being able to stretch the field. Had Perriman played, they may not have brought in Wallace or possibly not drafted Moore.
