I like the home game matches yet, we will have another difficult away game schedule. Also, it will be difficult facing the 6 playoff contenders from this year.

Outside of mentioning Smith and Suggs did they show this team any respect? NO! They may have won this battle but are still a bunch of losers.

I will take the 16th spot. We can certainly draft a difference maker at that spot.

The more I think about it, the less I think anything is going to change. I now don't expect Harbs to make any changes to his staff. Harbs likes guys who won't step on his toes and guys who have little chance of getting a HC offer. Plus we have to remember these guys are his friends. No, the only way I see anything changing is if the entire staff is canned.

Whether Harbaugh is on the hot seat or not, Biscoitti should perform his due diligence and get input from the players on the entire coaching staff. He can't make educated decisions without their input considering how the players feel about the staff directly reflects their play on the field.

It just amazes me how many people here complain about Flacco's contract. To them I would say it's not your money so why does it matter that much to you?

His first five years here he helped to lead this team to the playoffs each season with the final year resulting in a super bowl along with a MVP, all the while drawing 1.6m on average per year. Many would say that was an extreme value during that period, some would even say we stole money from him. Either way the man earned a contract that was equal to the top ten in the league at that point.

He then received a big signing bonus based on his prior play and his value to the team, so what! Every player gets a signing bonus to sign a new contract and it's size is always based on the value of their position. Although the signing bonus affects the overall cap charge, Flacco would have not resigned with us if he didn't get a good one just as no player would.

Then we have 3 down years mixed in with 1 playoff year. Is it any coincidence that the one year we made the playoffs was the only time we had a good offensive coordinator over that stretch?

During the 2016 season, Flacco made 4m in salary. That's right! $4,000,000 and people are saying he's overpaid. smh.

For those that say we shouldn't have signed him after the super bowl, I ask what should we have done? Begin the 2013 season without a starting QB?

For those that say we shouldn't have paid him that much money, I ask why is 4m a lot for a starting caliber QB?

For those that say he should take a pay cut, I ask how much do you want him to cut with your choices being between 1 and 4 million?

It really sucks for Steve's career to end this way. We fans didn't even get a chance to give him a proper sendoff on the field at the Bank. Sure there were rumors this could be it and I doubt anyone is surprised but, both he and us lose out since he didn't announce his retirement until after the final home game had been played. I don't care much for this slip out the back, jack kind of thing. The Ravens should have honored him in some manner!

The season is over. The fields are covered, the lockers are emptied and the equipment gets packed away. Yet, the 2017 season starts today. It's time for the work to begin here and now. They can't rest and relax if they want to turn this around. It's up to Bisciotti to set the tone and make the hard decisions to get this team going in the right direction again.

For 672 pass attempts, Flacco should have easily broke 5000 yards. That's a nice accomplishment for Pitta coming back from where he was at. On the other hand, It's not a great stat considering Pitta was joe's first, second and third look on most passing plays and most of his catches were in the 2-6 yard range.

What a dismal way to end a season. It would have been much worse if we had beaten the Steelers last week and played like we did yesterday. The lack of playmakers and quality coaching is truly evident with this team.

All I have to say is I've watched better preseason games.

Well this has been fun. I'm glad they are playing to win or this game may have been over by the end of the 1st quarter.

Would it COULD do, in theory, is open themselves up to possibly negotiate a short term extension. Pay him more in the short term, add another year or two to the deal, and spread that out.

 

They could do that, sure but, any way you look at it, it's not a pretty situation and would only get uglier if he was to get injured again.

I agree, not too sure it was all Marty's doing or Joe just not listening to him. Most likely a combination of both.

Sorry but I'm just not seeing the wiggle room. My understanding was that he took the 4.5m paycut in 2016 and converted it to incentives, which Zrebiec reported that he earned all those incentives back some time ago. Meaning they have to pay him that money in 2017. Now they can pay it in a lump sum and spread it over the remaining two years on his contract, if they choose but, that would put his cap charge over 9m for each season in that case. I just don't see any scenario where they could restructure and keep him.

Come on K-Dog, cut him some slack. This could be his dream, and a major step up from what he's used to.

Well, we knew that "Pure Flash" was going to receive an "A" grade.

I don't care much about the outcome of the game. For me, it has about as much juice as a preseason game. Just want to see our guys leave the field healthy.

Steve recently said that "this game gave him so much", I feel it was the other way around. It's always difficult to see a legend leave the game but, at least the game never left him.

I can't believe this is the last game of the season already. Man, did this year just fly by. It seems like we just started the season and now it's over. Maybe it's just me and as I get older the days speed up to drive me into the ground faster. lol
