  1. Some you guy need to go refresh your memory and watch Torrey at Maryland. In so many situations he used his body to help cradle the ball in. Perriman actually extends his arms and plucks the ball out of the air. They asked Perriman about his hands and he said he felt like it was a strength and not a weakness, just a matter of concentration and not trying to run before the catch is actually made.

Been watching a lot of college tape to see who he reminds me of looked at Bowe, Gordon, Dez, Andre Johnson, Demaryius, ect... I actually think Breshad hit the nail right on the head, he reminds me most of Julio Jones.

Yes, Torrey was just fast. Perriman is fast and big and can make difficult catches. They're only alike in speed and poor route-running. Hopefully Perriman actually develops in that regard.

  2. It's too early to speculate but if there is a falloff in the offense I expect it will be because of the loss of Torrey and Owen NOT the addition of Marc. I'm not as high on our WR corps as some on this forum are but I'm very interested in watching it play out.

    Hoping for a strong draft.

That's funny because I think the offense will improve because of a lack of Torrey and Jacoby. Torrey made plays but most of them were slants against poor CBs or the occasional deep reception despite no separation. Campanaro and Aiken made immediate impacts when they were on the field - Torrey disappeared for weeks at a time.

Daniels is okay, but he's kind of "just a guy" at this point.

  3.

Thanks for the links. Another case of fans trying to be loyal to the QB no matter what. Everyone knows Cutler was the problem, Trestman was the scapegoat.

As for the 2nd, everyone already knows the Bears ran so many screen passes because Cutler checks out of the run every chance he gets. (link)

Rapoport added that one big problem for Cutler comes in the run game, in which he too often does not check out of bad plays -- a reason for ground issues in Chicago.

There is a serious "frustration" with the way Cutler has played this season, and, according to Rapoport, the team considered benching him during his dismal showing versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers three weeks ago

The Bears were frustrated all right: the problem is they couldn't cut Cutler after that contract and no one would trade for him. So they got rid of the next responsible. Thankfully we have an organization that doesn't kid themselves that way.

  4. Crabtree is someone I was really high on, but unless his price drops, I just can't see him coming to Baltimore. I really liked him before the Achilles tear and would love if he could regain his form.

I'm with you that no one on the market is a high end number two (except Crab if he regions form), probably a lower end two/slot receiver, which is why I want to go up and grab Parker, if he gets past the Vikes, I'd start calling the Saints immediately. After the first three, I just see too much of a drop off to feel super comfortable with them as high end rookie contributors

I like Crabtree too but we're not signing anyone for over vet minimum to play receiver. The FO knows we'll get much better value out of Aiken and Campanaro. We might draft one though but I highly doubt we move up for a receiver. They just can't be that confident about picking a WR at this point.

  5. We need to keep Will Hill at almost any cost, guy is a stud and he was just getting started last year after his suspension.. incredible value for money even if we have to match another teams offer on him, as long as the offer isn't ridiculous he will be worth every penny.

Would be insane if we pulled AJ somehow and then got a wr in the 1st round

Any cost? Dude... Terrance Brooks. We didn't draft him for nothing.

  6. Well firstly the nfl is stupid in the first place for not just having both teams share one set. Secondly supposeably the balls were checked at halftime when we were 17-7 up and brady had 1 pick. Assuming the officials had done their jobs and replaced the balls then it actually made the patriots better making this even more confusingly silly. Thirdly not sure why bill would feel the need to do this when it didn't make us play better and we have smashed luck badly every time before the game.

And fourthly I have a bit of a hard time believing that it had any impact on this game not just because of blount, but because brady didn't throw or land any big passes in this game at all. Just a few dink and dunks and average yard gainers, it would be more plausible with the ravens game when he went deep quite a bit.

Richard sherman doesn't care about stuff like this so why should I?

    1. They don't share balls so you can't sabotage them when the other team is on offense.

    2. Clearly if they were underinflated on purpose, the purpose would be that they benefit the offense, regardless of the effect you believe it had looking at one half versus the other.

    3. The balls would have been deflated after being checked by the officials but before the game started, hence before the Pats had a comfortable lead.

    4. "Dink and dunk" passes are easier to drop because there's less time to react and the ball has more of its speed, and the underinflated balls would be easier to catch and get a grip on in cold weather. Tom has already stated (and I'm sure most QBs would agree) that underinflated is easier to throw.

  7. Hopefully Melvin can keep it up. So far he reminds me of Cary Williams.

Cary played more off coverage and he let up a lot of 10 yard completions. Melvin reminds me more of Jimmy Smith. Seriously. He's a big, physical corner with good technique and instincts. He hasn't been tested like Jimmy has against guys like Megatron, but so far so good.
