I bet this is "coincidentally" the week a Chiefs WR scores a TD. Alex Smith holds his team back more than they realize. This wont be a big loss for them.
Teams are way too eager to ditch their coach. Give him a few years to set up what he wants to do and stop hitting the restart button. That said, I'm sure another 6 coaches will lose their jobs this year - most of them probably in their 1st or 2nd year.
There are a LOT of undocumented cases of domestic violence, on both men and women. I think most people know someone who's been in an abusive relationship, to some degree at least. It's always sickening. But the whole "crackdown on NFL players" isn't fair when there's a portion of the population who continues to attack their partners and cast judgment.
You think an NFL veteran receiver who works on footwork around the year just happened to forget not to step on people's faces? It was his intention not to be stopped on that play. He put his foot where it needed to be to do so. Intentional. Do you really need to keep fighting that? I'm not even calling it a big deal.
Stop with your Suh explanations. It doesn't matter that he was trying to hurdle him. It doesn't matter what his "instinct" was. He wasn't a victim of circumstance. He chose to hurdle a player and chose to land on a player instead of bailing so he could get more yards. Simple as that. It's not a big deal, so I don't see a suspension, but he was guilty of a dirty play and will probably be fined.
I'd put money on us signing one of those two players (Florence or Flowers). We have a spot for them, unlike Denver and New England, and we present a chance to win a Super Bowl over some other teams with a CB need. Plus this is our kind of move.
I think that's an exaggeration for a team without a proven FS, but if Flowers could come in on 3 CB sets and push Webb inside, combined with the team revitalized speed and depth up front, we'd be very difficult to pass the ball against.

Tyrod's most important job is to play the opposing QB in practice. Sometimes it calls for a QB with great arm strength or mobility. That's why Tyrod's around. Plus we ALMOST beat the Bengals with him at QB. We could probably field a good rushing team with him as a wildcat QB, but not a good offense. He'd need McCown receivers to look good with his arm. Didn't do too bad last preseason though.

What are you basing this on? He did 30 reps of 225 at the combine. Only 7 O-linemen did better this year. Not that it directly translates to total strength. We also play a zone scheme which isn't so much strength-oriented - so why would it be incredibly hard for him to get on the field?

The funny part is Andre would be a huge upgrade. Yet when Andre and Jacoby were the Texans' 1 and 2 in 2011, they still felt receiver was their top need.

While I agree that we overpaid by about $119 million, we saved a lot of money by signing monster talent like AQ Shipley and Brandon Stokely for pennies. So it all averages out to 8-8, right?

Nice suggestion. Intronaut is great! I think that genre of music is pretty easy to play, so there are a good amount of bands who sound okay but just miss the mark, or get boring quick.

I think they value actual ability more than failed potential. If McClain isn't 3rd or 4th on the depth chart, it will be up to special teams. It depends on how willing he is to learn it and how hard he's willing to work. I would love to see Rolando turn his career around here but I seriously doubt it.
hawkprey replied to fistfullwales's topic in Ravens Talk
I'll bet that we find a UDFA linebacker who makes it over him. If he's still here by the draft. Can McClain play special teams? Because he's not going to start.
I have to agree. It seems like he just accidentally hit someone on a bike and then panicked. His anti-gay thing from the Super Bowl also has no bearing on his driving. That's just character assassination.
