  1. Something tells me that Trestman is a very persuasive man.
  2. I'm certain that this is a pick they couldn't believe was still on the board late in the 3rd.
  3. Yes, Torrey was just fast. Perriman is fast and big and can make difficult catches. They're only alike in speed and poor route-running. Hopefully Perriman actually develops in that regard.
  4. Thankfully, yes. Breshad makes some tough catches in traffic. He has a bigger body. He can actually lay out for the ball rather than sticking an arm out.
  5. Flacco right now...
  6. That's funny because I think the offense will improve because of a lack of Torrey and Jacoby. Torrey made plays but most of them were slants against poor CBs or the occasional deep reception despite no separation. Campanaro and Aiken made immediate impacts when they were on the field - Torrey disappeared for weeks at a time. Daniels is okay, but he's kind of "just a guy" at this point.
  7. Thanks for the links. Another case of fans trying to be loyal to the QB no matter what. Everyone knows Cutler was the problem, Trestman was the scapegoat. As for the 2nd, everyone already knows the Bears ran so many screen passes because Cutler checks out of the run every chance he gets. (link) The Bears were frustrated all right: the problem is they couldn't cut Cutler after that contract and no one would trade for him. So they got rid of the next responsible. Thankfully we have an organization that doesn't kid themselves that way.
  8. I like Trestman a lot. I think Kubiak was a little too predictable. That's why Houston was all over us. Trestman will get more out of Flacco and the downfield passing (which we for some reason went away from).
  9. Some people pick the weirdest things to get upset about.
  10. This will finally give us a real chance to gauge our backup receivers in preseason.
  11. I don't see why not. It's not like he's gonna see the field. They just need someone to model that week's opposing QB in practice.
  12. His first year could be rubbed off as "he was just a rookie". Last year he was unprepared. The third year is the first time he's had career adversity. So let's see how he responds.
  13. I've never seen a rule about urinating on the field, so next year I propose a team has 5 of its players start urinating after the snap to confuse and annoy the other team. Then, a bunch of people will have to waste time instating an actual rule against it while I'm busy thinking up another loophole.
  14. I like Crabtree too but we're not signing anyone for over vet minimum to play receiver. The FO knows we'll get much better value out of Aiken and Campanaro. We might draft one though but I highly doubt we move up for a receiver. They just can't be that confident about picking a WR at this point.
  15. This has been a great offseason so far.
  16. Ok, Elam then. They all rotate between deep and cover 2/3.
  17. Any cost? Dude... Terrance Brooks. We didn't draft him for nothing.
  18. It used to be you paid a QB big money if he was really good. Now you draft one and if he's still around 2 years later, he gets a $100 million extension.
  19. Of course he went in there to deflate the balls. You're an equipment guy in charge of the balls your team is using to get to the Super Bowl? Nobody has to go that bad. That's his Olympic torch. Not only that, we KNOW the balls were tampered with at around this point in time. Let's not even entertain excuses.
  20. When Edelman fumbled the ball and 4 Ravens were surrounding him, I shook my head and said "Of course the one Patriot would recover it". Now I know why the ball didn't bounce too far.
  21. 1. They don't share balls so you can't sabotage them when the other team is on offense. 2. Clearly if they were underinflated on purpose, the purpose would be that they benefit the offense, regardless of the effect you believe it had looking at one half versus the other. 3. The balls would have been deflated after being checked by the officials but before the game started, hence before the Pats had a comfortable lead. 4. "Dink and dunk" passes are easier to drop because there's less time to react and the ball has more of its speed, and the underinflated balls would be easier to catch and get a grip on in cold weather. Tom has already stated (and I'm sure most QBs would agree) that underinflated is easier to throw.
  22. I'm glad so many of you know our run game is going to go to crap. That makes me question Trestman's tactics. Why break Yanda's legs and kick KO off the team? Why bring back O'Neil Cousins and bench Wagner? And why would he sign my uncle to play runningback when we have a perfectly good one in Forsett? Very questionable stuff, in my opinion.
  23. I'm pretty sure the Bears threw the ball so much because they were always behind. And Cutler always checks to a pass whenever possible.
  24. Cary played more off coverage and he let up a lot of 10 yard completions. Melvin reminds me more of Jimmy Smith. Seriously. He's a big, physical corner with good technique and instincts. He hasn't been tested like Jimmy has against guys like Megatron, but so far so good.
  25. I like in the offseason when some people were like "who cares if Manziel parties? He's just a normal 22 year old." And much like a normal 22 year old, he can't play QB in the NFL.
