  1. I have to agree with the claim that problem was due to weather. My TV had the same malfunction. I put on football, instead got a re-run of an old Batman where the Joker tries to re-wire the city's radio so everyone gets the wrong signal.
  2. Mod question: should we use this thread to talk about the Patriot's instance of possible cheating or refer to the other "Patriots caught cheating" thread? I'm just worried we're going to have too many threads about the Patriots cheating.
  3. Gotta love the Pats pretending their headsets weren't working either. That's why the announcers reported that the officials "turned the Patriots' headsets off" to compensate for the unfair advantage. But of course, there would be no need to turn them off if they were also malfunctioning.
  4. I'm on the Keith Butler bandwagon. Here's to many seasons!
  5. Opposing teams headsets are the most dysfunctional pieces of equipment on the planet. Ours, for example, which went out coincidentally during a long drive against the Dolphins, could have stalled an important drive in a critical game. But its just coincidence, I suppose.
  6. Bust Dupree with a free sack. Come on, where's all the points?
  7. Theres that coveted Brady accuracy.
  8. Talk about a Sophie's choice.
  9. i know, I almost want the Steelers to win. Its that bad.
  10. It seems so cool to get the first home opener. I wish we got one.
  11. Get ready for some bad defense... By the end of this game, I think everyone's gonna split their MVP predictions between Roethlisberger and Brady.
  12. All the most underpaid players are on their rookie salaries. The only other way to acquire that kind of value is to pay a proven vet a disproportionate amount of money from year to year, but you'll still have to pay more later. Unless you think you have a 1-year window, I would take the draft pick. Just make sure it's someone good.
  13. The odds someone important gets injured for a significant amount of time but not the full season is pretty low. Better to use it now than risk never getting anything out of it. For what it's worth, I think Urban could be really good. Probably could replace Guy/Canty on 3rd downs.
  14. The 2014 draft was such a slam-dunk. Mosley and Jernigan could have HOF careers. Gillmore, Taliaferro and Campanaro look great and will be big factors this year. Urschel is probably one of the best backup G/Cs in the league, and Urban flashed before he got hurt again. The 2013 class stunk overall, so it's fortunate that we got good players out of any round, but we still picked up one of the best FBs and RTs in the league, and two good backups in KLM and Jensen. Elam and Brown just underwhelmed so far. I would say we rebuilt pretty quick.
  15. I feel a lot better about this year's offense. Owen Daniels, Jacoby Jones and Bernard Pierce are not real losses. Monroe is healthy and we have better O-line depth. Gillmore and Taliaferro look vastly improved. Campanaro is healthy and should be a significant factor. And finally, trade Torrey for bigger, better Torrey. Looks like another Top-10 finish for the all-unknown unit.
  16. Looks like the Giants cut former Ravens Chykie Brown and Jeromy Miles.
  17. Maybe they've played more games than I thought.
  18. I see Bryn Renner, Nick Perry, Kiero Small, Brennen Beyer, Daniel Brown and Kaleb Johnson on the PS. Konrad Reuland and Cassius Vaughn on the veteran practice squad if not picked up. I think there's some chance we keep Asa. We'll be stocking the team with CBs (after last year's debacle) and it's a lot easier to teach a guy to keep two hands on the ball than to score TDs. My guess is our CBs go: Jimmy, Webb, Arrington, Melvin, Walker, Jackson.
  19. Ok, so is Steve Smith really gonna be our punt returner? I'm sure he'll be pleading his case every day.
  20. The backup defense played well after the first drive. Davis, KLM, Orr, Brown and almost the entire secondary made plays. Marlon had the best day on offense.
  21. I would imagine that would violate something. But the NFL would never do that in either case.
  22. The judge's ruling was that the suspension violated the CBA because it was based on Brady's non-cooperation, which is basically saying "You never told me that smashing my cell phone instead of handing it to your investigator could get me suspended".
  23. I guess we're just forgetting that the Eagles game happened?
  24. No chance. I don't even think Robinson gets suspended (although he should be banished from the league).
  25. I suppose this prediction is as good as any.
