  1. We did play potentially the best CB duo and pass rush in the league.

And it was week 1 with a new coordinator. Against a preseason favorite.

    And we almost won.

    But the SKY IS FALLING!

The sky is not falling, but it is the same problem we had versus the Eagles and everyone said calm down it's only preseason. Well, if we look up -- they are starting to count.

  2. You can't break off routes if you never even get a chance to get into your routes. You are asking the WRs to do something that's next to impossible. Flacco was basically throwing the ball while still in his drop on 80% of his passes. Ugly oline equals ugly offense i don't care if the WRs break their routes off 2 years past the LOS. Trestman should have called more screens to slow that rush down a bit. It didn't show up in the stat sheets but both Brown and Aiken did some really solid work outside against maybe the best CB duo in the NFL.

Harbs has often times said he likes Upshaw's pass rush ability. I think they'll just ride with Upshaw and Doom with ZDS subbing in. Im sure they'll add Beyer to the roster and maybe make a minor move but nothing major. I think it'll be next man up for right now. The lack of Suggs will probably force Pees to blitz more.

    you are ignoring the point.....proceed

  3. The WRs played well but it doesn't matter who's open if your QB doesn't have time. Period.

I think the Ravens will rely on in house guys. Even if you bring someone in they won't be able to do as much as Suggs, so you'll be relying on your young guys anyway. Upshaw has an even greater opportunity now in a contract year.

That's true but you need decent WRs that can get separation or at least recognize your QB is under siege and break off routes, etc. Other than Smith Sr. We don't really have that......

  4. Stanley Cup playoffs got more coverage than the ravens draft, fact.

another fact, talking about the stanley cup playoffs spurred either vinnie or rob(cant remember) into a half hour discussion about kids hockey, also more coverage than the ravens draft.

in the entire 3 hours per day i listened to the show during the draft, they had one segment about the draft, a guy called in at the end and spent about 20 minutes on the phone saying breshad perriman is a torrey smith clone. aside from that? the only draft coverage was "now we have college playbook comin up after the break where were gonna discuss jameis winston" or melvin gordon, or kevin white, marcus mariota, or leonard williams, guys we had no shot of getting and guys we wouldve had no desire to get even if they were in our range.

you must be biased, because i have been there through it, i have heard it, it is painful. i just find it hard to believe i spend over a hour a day listening to this station and i miss these multi-hour football segments every single day.

Definitely was Vinnie lolol.......he takes his kid around the US and Canada talking about that stuff.

  5. i dont know what youre talking about. i dont have all day to listen, i get about 2 hours of listening per day, but i could tune in in december while the ravens are pushing their way into the playoffs, and they would be discussing orioles free agency strategies almost 100% of the time, maybe im at work when they decide to talk ravens, but they are so heavily favored for the orioles its ridiculous. vinnie and rob, jesus, let vinnie mention a player the orioles let go or overpaid, and rob will passionately rant about that one thing for 10 minutes, while taking 10 second intervals of silence in between each sentence

"you cant depend on so-and-so with .XXX batting average for this much money(10 second pause) ya just cant(10 second pause) ya cant do it vinnie, when im coaching my sons little league team we do blablabla(10 second pause) and even these kids wouldnt blablabla(10 second pause) ya just cant do it, and the orioles need to go after so and so to fix this etc. etc. (corny endorsement with vinnie obviously lying about personally using a product or service)"

the typical vinnie and rob conversation during football season.

LOL...this is ridiculously on point. I live in California now and still listen to the station because...well it's all I have now. But even when I moved around MD/VA I listened to it and this is SPOT ON!

  6. They are an awesome combo but we never use our personnel in the best possible way. We always force the I-formation or single back and then when that fails go three WR set. It never works at that point like they don't practice that stuff much. I hope they really use these two the way they should be. Maxx Williams' potential is especially exciting.

  7. Yeah but that was mid season once teams knew where they were. The Titans knew they weren't going anywhere and I believe Ayers was a pending free agent so it made sense to trade him and get something for the future. It's week 1. No team is going to trade away anyone of value this early.

    Not for cheap anyway!

  8. Of course Kubiak knew how to effectively neutralize and take advantage of the ZBS that he coached last year.

And he knew Joe's weakness....tight windows and no time to throw would make it difficult for him. I think it was coaching as much as the lack of playmakers, OL getting whipped, etc.

  9. In 2013, we got spanked by Denver in 1st game, some fans were flipping out in a may day mentality and Ravens nearly made the playoffs. In 2014, we lost the first game to Bengals and fans flipped out even worse because it was a division rival, many even said Kubiak was a mistake plus the usual fair weathered fans who loves blaming Flacco etc and Ravens nearly made it to the Super Bowl. Today, many fans already threw in the towel and playing the same old song once again, even though it is only 1 game. If Ravens wins the next two which is very doable, they will at least be tied for first place, just like that. Patience and faith people, it is a long season.

I get your point but nearly nearly nearly is not impressive. starting out winning 9 games was and that got it done.
