My excitement for bowser immediately replaced with disdain
Raiders are gonna be dangerous. Karl
joseph last year, then Conley and melifonwu. They are serious about their secondary. They're gonna win a super bowl at this rate
Just now, robbie29 said:IDK- we seem to be drafting as if we still have Ray Lewis and Ed Reed on the team- future HOF players who will magically turn raw talent into Pro Bowlers. We have no HOF players on the roster! Suggs put up his best numberz and had his greatest swagger his first 10 years but has quieted down considerably since Reed and Lewis departed. I'm hearing how Bowser is sooo athletic. Ok, so was John Simon but he did nothing with Baltimore. Perriman was sooo fast, but hasn't lived up to a 1st round billing. So far this draft seems to be more focused on eventual contribution rather than immediate impact.
Have you seen bowsers film?
1 minute ago, Edgar said:Cunningham despite the volume of tackles, he isn't a good tackler.
Great range but tackles high.
Really. It's weird. He tackles like ngakoue, wrap, deadweight and spin.
6 minutes ago, Dewy101 said:True but they haven't showed anything yet still need to add competition that area. Well I hope we take Dawkins and another edge or if Cunningham falls
34DE is one of those positions you can afford to slip on though. Like you notice the difference if you have an elite one, but if your guy is average it doesn't really hamper the defense at all. I fully believe in urban and kaufusi to at least be average.
3 minutes ago, Dewy101 said:Still need a 3-4 DE
Kaufusi, urban, Henry, ya gotta ride with the young guys sometimes
3 minutes ago, allblackraven said:Pretty underwhelming pick. Feels like an admission we blew it with KC last year. Better pass rushers left on the board.
Be real bruh, you wanted tim Williams, for crimson related reasons.
Lol for real though why don't you like it? With the character of t will(who I'm a huge fan of and thought he concerns were overblown) and the injuries of Lawson in totally fine with this. Tyus bowser is absolutely on their levels.
2 minutes ago, Adreme said:The problem is...who is going to be on offense to get the leads in the first place?
Teams gotta out score us. Good luck.
This is a secondary and edge rush draft. We should have some real solid third round targets like elflein, moton, bisnowaty, and plenty others. The mid rounds is where the OL is strong this year
Bungles gonna bungle
STATEMENT! Good pick Ozzie! Our defense will now be fearsome. No more blown fourth quarter leads
Hell of a pick for Indy. They just transformed their whole secondary, but why even throw when you can run it amirite
One of t will and Lawson are now guaranteed to be there. If we don't take one, and if we take anyone but dion dawkins besides one of them, I'll be heated af
5 minutes ago, BmoreBird22 said:Which I see as no issue.
It's like saying Morris Claiborne was better at LSU than Patrick Peterson.
Okay, so? Both have All-Pro potential.
I think Marlon will be a very, very good pro for the Ravens, but Mincah is special.
Wasn't saying anything of relevance lol. I like Humphrey(somewhat), don't hate the pick, have my doubts about not taking a talent like OJ but whatever...
just stating that when I watch film on Humphrey I keep paying attention to mincah. You brought him up and I just threw my 2 cents lol
11 minutes ago, Underdogsontop! said:Dalvin cook.... hmmm no one talking about him. I wouldn't be upset with the pick but I could imagine our FO making it at 47th. Then again I think another team might grab him before us. Just weird how no one is talking about him. Maybe it's his fumble issues? Idk
Maybe because he's had dv issues and animal cruelty issues and has been a plain idiot off the field

Here's everybody's opportunity to say you believe ravens pick was the BPA and best player to help ravens the most. And so everybody can't say ravens pick was the best player after the ravens picked him. Who are your top 10 players next 2rounds. If you don't say it now then nobody should believe you when you say it after we pick him
Tbf while I would have never taken Humphrey over oj Howard, he would have been in my top 20. I haven't made a definitive board in months but I'd have a hard time believing he'd be much lower than 16(that of course Is discounting qbs, so my value vs where players are taken differ greatly)
8 minutes ago, BmoreBird22 said:That younger corner is Mincah Fitzpatrick and he's an easy top 10 pick next year if he keeps up his play
Mincah is better than Humphrey imo no doubt about it
Charlie Campbell once again... adjusted his mock for the whole NFL and the remaining board, and still has us taking a 4th round run stopping DT in Chris wormley.
What is with this dude?
7 minutes ago, Somerset Ravens said:I agree with you about Dion Dawkins, he would be the power blocker we need for our run game.
Lamp and cam are both clear cut better power run blockers but I don't think either of them are an OT, they both need to be put at guard. Dion dawkins however looks like a day one RT and a swing guard in a pinch.
I do wonder if the talk of lamp playing C Is true though. Ive heard rumblings that he's capable. In that case he is my clear cut 1
9 minutes ago, The Mom Gene said:Hey, I'm just quoting what some of the analysts were stating last night..... They gave valid reasons why 3 of those guys were overlooked. Just sayin. So if you believe it's total crap... then see the guys on ESPN or NFLN
You have the names mixed up. You didn't hear not one time that Howard has injuries or character issues. Don't blame your mix ups on espn, nothing wrong with admitting you had a mix up
Tim williams
carl lawson
Forrest lamp
dion dawkins
cam robinson
zay jones
tyus bowser
Malik McDowell
dan feeney
Derek rivers
juju
can't think of anyone else off the top of my head
and in that order.
I like dion dawkins a lot because I see him as a more natural RT than either Forrest or cam
19 minutes ago, BOLDnPurPnBlacK said:I dont think Humphrey was viewed as a 20's player. Charlie was reporting as early as 3 weeks ago that according to multiple sources, teams were way higher on him than the public. The majority had him as at least the #2 CB on the board, and many had him as the best. They were expecting him to come off the board Top 10, w. NO at 11 or Philly at 14 his fall backs. Just so happened that Lattimore and Barnett fell into their hands instead.
I like Howard alot, trust me. And he may very well become dominant, and if so it wouldve been awesome to have him. But, clearly teams arent quite as high on him as we all are. I think hes a very good blocker, but the extra OT might be a bit of hyperbole. Hes definitely more developed in that regard than most college TE's but i wouldnt go that far. And his pass catching dominance is a projection because weve never seen it consistently. No, he wasnt featured in Bamas offense and thats not his fault -- and he showed take over ability in the 2015 championship game.... but its still somewhat of a projection.
Humphrey was highest on their board and they took him. I can be happy with that.
And now when the run on CBs starts early tonight we're in a power position to either grab the falling players at other positions (pass rush, OL, WR) or trade back with a desperate team for another 3rd. We're in a very good spot to grab a top pass rusher and OL with our next 3 picks, and if so when looked back on as group -- this haul could look awesome.
As always its going to come down to how Humphrey and Howard pan out. But, i think its clear that we had Humphrey rated higher and that we werent alone in that regard.
I agree with the second round part and that's why I'm not too down on this pick. We got a huge upside player who at least is healthy and fits our scheme and has great character and passion, you can work with that, and we lucked out with the amount of edge rushers and OL still available and we absolutely should be able to pounce due to the corner depth sill there, we take an average value near the top of the position group to set ourselves up to take fallers later.
I doubt they anticipated that at all or that it was part of their plan. They probably just liked him more than most of us, but it plays out nicely so far
24 minutes ago, The Mom Gene said:I actually believe that even if Ozzie picked "The Guy"... we'd still see some folks moaning that we didn't go defensive back... Last night was a very "different" round 1 in this draft. People who went that weren't expected were all over the place. Folks need to chill
I argue that if we picked the guy (oj) people would moan about another TE. Despite him being the most gifted and talented player we have had a chance to draft since 03.
Oj and famous jameis will make quite a few gms feel very stupid
3 minutes ago, Edgar said:He makes Joe better. He makes the run game better and he makes the defense better by limiting their time on the field.
He was the best player there when we picked, ( to me of course ), and it isn't close.
He is probably the best player the Ravens have had a chance to pick in the past ten years
9 minutes ago, The Mom Gene said:We have 6 TE's... Boyle, Pitta, Gilmore, Waller, Williams, and Watson..... and now Woodhead in the backfield. It wasn't a need....
We need a pass catcher period. Oj Howard would be hands down the most dynamic guy flacco has ever played with and it's not even close. Not to mention he is an elite run blocker, the guys basically an extra OT out there, he would without question be the best skill position player on our offense and coaches would never find a reason to take him off the field, and he was a top 5 talent who fell due to his position, Humphrey is widely regarded as a 20s ranked guy. Plus, Pitta Waller and Watson could all very well be gone next year and probably should be gone already.
i don't care about needs when you have a squeaky clean generational talent 10 spots after he should've been picked.
