its a little empty right now because people are still posting here until the boards close, but a lot of users here are pre registered and are coming over when these finally shut down

Which got to be very difficult lately.
Maybe if you were a good and educated fan you would see that no, it hasn't been. Maybe if you lurk around the news section and LFW comments all you see is poo flinging and cancer spewing idiots who create an account just to post a rant or 2 and never return.
However, the ravens talk, draft, and fantasy talk sections are absolutely superb and pretty much self moderated as of those 3, ravens talk is the only one that mods ever post in. This also happens to be where the most in depth and educated football talk occurs.

I'll go with Alex Lewis shining as a right tackle.
If siragusa plays like he did against ed Oliver every week in the NFL, yanda is his old self, Lewis is a star RT, then urschel should do just fine at center if he eliminates his occasional bad snap. That would transform the OL in one offseason with almost no investment in it

That's what I'm saying. He ran routes and he ran them incredibly fast. He was a body catcher with zero sense of physicality and he made a career running deep slants.
ill say Correa, since he contributed overall nothing last year, but i think he has some solid traits to become an ILB. settling into a role and getting a reality check last year should do a lot for him. hes a dog with a hell of a motor and athleticism, also appears to have pretty natural instincts and awareness.

Lmao that jadakiss quote... well played

I will agree that it was a great place to bring Ravens fans together. The site isn't going away. Just the forums are.
The forums are the only redeeming quality of this garbage site.
Their only reason is that they feel they have better avenues for this same type of discussion. But in reality those avenues are large crowds of idiots who think cutting flacco and hiring ray Lewis to coach is the solution to everything.
We have real football talk here, they want us to rant and rave with the village idiots. There is no valid reason here.
Just now, allblackraven said:With his injury history, I'd think long and hard before paying picks and $$ for Watkins since I don't see him being handed over for cheap and $6.5M prove it deal isn't ideal with our cap space.
I'd give picks for him. It's worth the risk. But I wouldn't want a one year prove it deal, at least get him for 3 years so the dealt pick can be worthwhile. Hopefully he stays healthy. But it's basically selling out hoping we get one last shot at a super bowl. With the defense we have in place, we don't need to do any major rebuilding, just need a C, RT, and WR and we could absolutely contend every year. With our defense it feels like it would be worth it to sell out for another shot.

It might just be crazy enough to work
1 minute ago, allblackraven said:Possibly. Busted out on injuries.
Didn't think devin smith would amount to much anyway. He wasn't fast or big enough to consistently do the only thing he did well

If he recovered, I don't think he's going anywhere after Devin Smith's injury. They drafted a couple but both speedsters / slot guys.
Devin smith was never gonna pan out anyway
Just now, jazz1988 said:Marty M doesn't run a traditional west coast offense though. His west coast offense is more like vertical west offense than anything but it still isn't anything like Cam Cameron.
Yeah I know he likes to stretch the field horizontal and vertical and last year was running more of treatmans system than anything. Hoping he caters to our strengths more this year
Just now, nextgen_RavensFan said:Williams looks like he has a motor that will not stop from the video i have seen. Cannot wait to see him on the field.
On a side note: Will miss the boards and fellow members. I have learned so much over the years (football knowledge) i still do not know a lot about formations etc but the entire Ravens Nation here is awesome.

Just posted a placeholder for a total AFC north in depth analysis thread and what all 4 teams look like heading into this season. Will post my analysis when I get off work. Let's get these new boards going!
3 minutes ago, flynismo said:Call me crazy, but I actually am starting to miss Cam Cameron. This offense has been even worse since he left, save for 2014 when Kubiak was here. At least when Cameron abandoned the run game, he still had the good sense to utilize his QBs obvious gifts. Abandoning the run AND trying to turn Flacco in Captain Checkdown...well...it's no wonder why this offense struggles so much.
It's crazy, we had west coast receivers with cam and ran a coryell, we have coryell receivers now and run a west coast.

Perriman wasn't our #2. Torrey became the #2 almost right away out of necessity. And he didn't have to grow into our super simplified coryell bombs away offense lol.
Perrimans got a bigger learning curve and wasn't in football shape when he started, and also had Wallace Steve and pitta as he top targets ahead of him

Tyus might be the smoothest athlete pound for pound in this class

Yeah I decided to make Flex5 so the old users had an idea who I was. Decided that comprehensuv would probably confuse the hell out of people lol

in all seriousness while I was excited to get a jack of all trades potential in bowser i cant help but wonder if zach cunningham would have been the safer, plug in and play pick..
remember usually only 2-3 MAX tend to be sucesfull in draft classes the rest end up being disappointments. Looking at this class of the main picks, bowser def has the highest boom to bust scenario. Guys like Humphrey, Wormley, T.Williams, Siragusa have high floors IMO.
Zach Cunningham is a horrid tackler though. I didn't notice it until voch Lombardi pointed it out, it's hard to notice a guy leading the nation in tackles being a bad tackler, but he is. I don't want a LB in the afc north who doesn't follow through with tackles. When you need to cover leveon bell for about 15 routes a game twice a year you better not bring that deadweight-and-spin tackling technique. Bowser, for his shortcomings, wraps and scoops like textbook tackling should look

not sure why people think this is something new.
Reed played single high alot after moving to FS for us covering the deep ball even with poor corners.
I think we've just seen a resurgence since signing weddle, our safety play has been so much better that we notice the effects when before we just saw the safeties as liabilities
7 hours ago, Boddiebroadus said:Are we really moving here cause I don't want these boards to stop. Flex you are well respected in these forums u should make a topic about moving to these boards.
The mods have stated that they don't endorse it because they don't wanna be associated with a fan made forum that isn't well established. Plus I think there are some threads out there.
Theres a good number of users so far. Just come on over and spread the word
7 hours ago, Sami84 said:For the most part, I'm hoping that weddle is designated on his side of the ball as over the top saftey help to help deal with his one but really important flaw.
Luckily for us, that has been our scheme ever since jimmy stepped up. Isolate jimmy and clutter everything away from him, tighten up windows and give safety help. Along with the occasional safety blitz/zone blitz/fire blitz
6 hours ago, Sami84 said:i know this might sound crazy to some but if he lost 18 pounds and based on his coverage skills and fluidity he could be a lockdown corner lol
I thought he could give bambam a run for his money as a SS lol

Quick smarts, recover, and recognitshon, as you so eloquently put it, are things Humphrey does very well though. He sits back, eyes on the receiver and qb, and diagnoses the whole field and reacts very quickly and accordingly, and secures the play.
Inconsistent foot work on the hip-flip is not play recognition. Struggling to run downfield with your head turned around is not smarts(I wouldn't trust you to judge smarts anyway).
And again, all things that jimmy smith struggled with immensely coming out, he was just better in press man than Humphrey while Humphrey is better in zone than jimmy was.
