If it is Robinson (which I really hope it isn't), I would want him at tackle over guard. His strengths as a player are his long arms and decent kick step. I don't think he's the kind of player who improves by being moved to guard.

My impression is that he plays way too high up to make a difference in the run game against NFL DTs. It might be fixable but I wouldnt count on it.

Im not even saying his footwork is amazing, but getting good depth on a kick step is one of the biggest things I've seen tackles struggle with and that seems to be something he did well (albeit inconsistently).

    i wouldnt get too upset.

Why exactly 2 days before the draft would anyone from the Ravens release who theyre planning on taking?? Makes 0 sense.

"Cam enters the conversation" and "cam is the likely pick" are 2 separate things.

Well cam seems like possibly the most typical Ozzie pick ever. And picking him over guys like Corey Davis is also typical. I mean he would've taken Mosley over beckham... why wouldn't he take cam over Davis lol

He should be able to make contributions later on in the season. Obviously not right away as he has to learn a system and get back up to speed.

Do you take a CB that may not contribute a whole lot at the back end of the first round? Factoring in that he may be was a top 5 pick without the injury? I would if I were a GM.

During the season, rookies master the playbook, during TC and minicamps is when rookies get that close 1on1 time with coaches and vets to learn NFL technique. Having the free time for a coach to drill into a players head after every single snap is valuable.

also The difference between football shape and rehab shape is also a big deal, you got no muscle memory and less explosion and flexibility when your body is used to the weight room rather than the field

He would excel at guard but I have this horrible feeling that we'd put him at RT. Which would be lousy.

This is my only issue with cam. He's an elite guard prospect and a very risky tackle prospect. If our FO went ahead and said Alex Lewis is in heavy consideration for RT rather than playing up his "potential" as a guard and only speaking of him as a RT in a "if we HAVE to" sense, then I'd be on board with cam.

He is a game changer at guard, he plows holes wide open in the run game and his kickstep is hidden while he gets to use his anchor often, as a tackle all of his deficiencies get put under a spotlight so all the defenders can see them and exploit them.

If in all those years in alabama under saban you can't develop a decent technique against lesser standard players you are not a first round pick.

Tbf Alabama doesn't seem to coach linemen well. When is the last time a quality G or T has come out of Alabama? Wouldn't exactly hold the program in high regards there

Which is it Cam,Tak?? Tak I presume?? If so I agree. Not so sure he has the skills that transfer. I prefer Williams/Lawson. Would accept Harris.

Both. I don't dislike either of them but I hate both of them at 16. The value simply isn't there, there are bound to be better players available.

I just really hate the idea of Corey Davis or haason reddick or marlon Humphrey becoming an elite player at positions we have needed for so long, meanwhile we take high risk players who have strong potential to bust

And now people saying it's definitively not Hooker.  Sounds like it's definitely an Ohio State guy but no idea who and if it's even an actual situation and not someone trying to screw over one of the players.

Perhaps Gareon Conley or marshon lattimore?

    Per Tony Pauline:

I was told two interesting nuggets on the Baltimore Ravens last night: 1) if they hold onto the 16th selection, offensive tackle Cam Robinson enters the conversation as the pick and 2) if they trade down, the target is likely Takkarist McKinley, a favorite of Ozzie Newsome over the past six months.

Sounds like I won't be happy this Thursday

I cant remember the last time I watched NFL network. I used to watch that 'good morning' show everyday while getting ready for work.

Now when I listen to random analysis videos they post or mocks, I just shake my head and go wut

Everything seems to be "tweet us what you think" and then corny jokes aimed at each other

NFL Network isn't even watchable unless they're rebroadcasting a noteworthy game or doing one of their player or coach biographies. I've never gone to them for actual news or opinion on current events in football.

NFL network used to be so great too.

Back when rich eisen, prime, mooch, and Irvin did total access and Adam schefter and lacanfora were the primary breaking news reporters... the nostalgia hurts, I watched NFL network all day every day

#16 is way too early to take a project LB who is too light to play the line every down. That's basically what we have already with Correa.

Ideally he goes to a 4-3 team where he can play will-backer and then rush the passer on obvious passing downs.

His skillset is far superior though. Correa was all burst and motor in college, reddick has some very real bend and lightning quick footwork to keep him clean, along with really long arms and a low center of gravity that he uses both very well to create some solid speed to power rushes.

And a huge aspect that goes unnoticed here is that correa takes blockers head on and gets stonewalled, reddick doesn't do that, he works one shoulder of the tackle and never allows them to square up and engage cleanly.

i saw poor recognition..as for the form..hes better but i just think he's too small for linebacker and his coverage as linebacker was crap and he did play plenty of coverage snaps and was readily abused. I wouldnt touch him for anything other than returner. He'd be a lousy linebacker as he's easy to block and as a saftey no..sorry, his play recogniton is awul and couldnt defend a pass to save his life..what makes you think that will suddenly change if hes a full time saftey, which actually requires more in the way of PR than ILB where he was lousy when called upon to cover?

Because I'm not seeing this lack of play recognition, I see him diagnosing plays before the qb even pulls back his arm often

Upshaw was loved by virtually everyone but me. Even when around January he was touted as a top 10 pick I still said he would bust

I don't recall many liking the upshaw pick. I personally despised it.

But as the years went I grew to appreciate his role on this team, he was a bully and a tonesetter. Not worth his draft status but a solid contributor

He truthfuly reminds me of elam in college, a guy that hits hard and undersized who makes 0 plays. elams interceptions in florida were gimmes that were more about the QB than elam making a read. He plays slow unless its in the run game. His play recognition is awful and as a saftey he has shown nothing in the way of coverage skills and as a linebacker he gets mauled by blockers

he is a typical college flashy player and an NFL bust. He's so similar to elam its scary

I'm just not really seeing those similarities. Elam was a head and shoulder tackler, peppers is a great form tackler. Elam actually got to play coverage snaps in college and looked bad in all of them and only made plays when he came near the line, peppers has been used as a LB and was rarely given coverage assignments. Elams plays came when he had time to make them, like backs bouncing a run outside and he had time to come down to meet the back, peppers is actually diagnosing plays and sniffing out the ball before it's delivered, he's just never given a chance to do it in intermediate or deep coverage.

He's a playmaker but one thing I couldn't believe was his lack of getting to the endzone and more turnovers. I think he will be solid in the NFL and taken day 2 probably in the 2nd round and I would be thrilled to get him at our 2nd round pick, but theres just something about him that scares me.

His usage at Michigan didn't allow him to show any kind of coverage ability. He was used almost exclusively as a blitzer and to sniff out screens and spy mobile qbs. I see a universal skill set from peppers that applies to any position, and that's instincts, explosion, and aggressive textbook form tackling. You put a guy with those skills just about anywhere on he field and he can make an impact

If we draft him i'll offically say that ozzie and co are deluded in their abilities. We're the only team to actually have had a private meeting with him which is bad enough. ( saw walterfootball.com and we're the only ones)

I have a 4th round grade on him and its only because he is a good returner.

Can you tell me why you grade him so lowly? I don't want us to take peppers btw just asking, because I think he's better than given credit for

That's not the only thing hurting him. Apparently teams are holding it against him that he missed his bowl game  citing that it showed a lack of commitment to his team. Now McCaffery and Fournette did the same but they told the coaches in advance they were sitting out, Peppers made the decision on the day of the game.

Peppers was a game time decision injury.
